She was a flower wild
Wearing thrift store pair of shoes
Holes in sleeves of her hoodie
Jeans in all types of blues

Knit sheets unmade on queen size bed
Dreams Jersey or maybe New York
Knows she's destined for simple things
An average underachieving dork

Pizza breath
Bloodshot eyes
Red as petals blooming
A rose
Whiskey shots over wine any day
Toothpaste on tip of her nose

Alabaster skin and crooked smile
Knotted shoelaces on feet
Hair tied
A messy braid
Freckled embrace emitting heat

Shoulders carrying world
The burden of it's weight
Too prideful to ask for a helping hand
When the heaviness is too great

She believes love to be tangible word
Favorite songs are always sad
Can catch her staring out the window
Reminiscing joy she long ago had

She agreed to attend therapy
But an appointment was never made
Voice was simple to convince
Body harder to persuade
It's so much easier saying than doing

For me...
Life is an eternal attempt.

Life is the name of putting efforts,
Efforts to pull the strings together.

Life is the name of a happy being,
Being content with what we have.

Life is the name of dissatisfaction,
Satisfied I'll face a lack of fervour.

Life is the name of a social liability,
Spend time & learn how to behave.

Life is the name of finding corners,
Corners of happiness in the world.

Life is the name of achieving love,
A lover other than parents I mean.

Life is the name of the procreation,
Practice until you finally procreate.

The one love is not ready to accept,
Neither me nor my love for herself.

Still I dream of going to her house,
There I'll attempt to persuade her.

Though she will probably insult me,
But for love this is an eternal attempt.
I will again find myself in Amritsar after completing this degree.

Call me mad but I am not going to give up until she is married to someone else.

i want to
just lay without saying a word
no noise, no disturbances
just you, me and our thoughts running wild.
i want us to lay inside and
be each other's safe place
when the world is drowning.
you talk so greatly of things trivial to me
you don't stop to listen to what my mind speaks
im not complaining; i love your voice and articulation
but it would be nice if you gave me a chance to at least whisper.
true, im not the most interesting person
and i have obscure thought processes
and it's boring to be verbal about it
but i just get lost when you ramble on and on
and i can't fit the pieces together a lot of the time.
i'm sure you don't realize that i feel this way
and i'm far too apprehensive to tell you.
my head is a battleground between feeling unwanted
and reassuring myself that i'm just delusional.
i like to think i'm important to you
but i being my insecure self, almost never believe it.
i sound like such a sad sack
and i won't deny that i need constant reassurance
but rather than the world consoling me all the time,
it would be nice if only you, just you,
gave me the time and opportunity
to talk for once.
i adore you. and i know you don't feel the same way about me; i can't even persuade you.
but just let me tell you about myself sometimes, maybe you'll feel differently.
maybe.
sorry.
I don't intend to persuade you
I don't intend to persuade your words
I don't intend to persuade your side
I don't intend to persuade your mind
For you are you and I am me
I cannot change you to who I wish you could be
You are you
And I am still just worthless little old me

Each earnest and every chosen
Nit-picked word ready
To carefully clasp cautious ears
And carve out a particular path
This persuasion, both cruel and great
To bend a mind and heart ,
And push it down your choice of fate,
Entrance, enthrall, enhance, abate,
Convince you, and sell you
And a signed, written, and binding
contract controlling you, make
You can see it in their breath
Thumos
Persuade   words
    Relayed   souls
Believe inside
            Faith does reside
Whose ears to hear
   Let listen let learn
Burden again
Salvation will win
