Driving up the highway
When I saw it in the mist
Like a pure and tender ******
Still waiting to be kissed
A village all forgotten
Somehow time had missed
You could see it from the highway
slightly hazy in the mist

Had time forgotten this poor place
Left in limbo for all days
Was it just a trick of light and sun
Manufactured through the haze
Were the folks here ****** to stay
Out of reach but in our gaze
Or were they truly here by choice
Living old, forgotten ways

Brigadoon did spring to mind
but, in truth I thought this good
Be something better than that curse
This village protected by the wood
I pulled on to the shoulder
And tried to see as best I could
This simple town or vision
That had not aged as it should

I saw no point of entry
No way to get there from my place
It was perfect, untouched, special
A village bathed in grace
Folks kept driving past me
Up the highway at such pace
They would never see this village
In the mist as fine as lace

The village may be magic
It may be something in between
In truth all I can tell you
What I saw, not what I mean
It's a village, plain and simple
in the woods, all shades of green
Un-kissed, and yet so perfect
stuck in stasis, in between

Candleabra's flickering flames
cast a shimmering dancing
shadow of me,
upon my golden coffer overhead,
brought about by a sudden gust
of window-wind... God's finger-breeze...

Master airy-finger puppeteer
you are
dance the leaves
about my Autumn yard...

Push and stir
soft light newly blanketed wintry snow
on lifting eddies,
causing flying fancy, barnyard dancer's dos-a-dos
among infinitesimal,
and featherweight
delicately frozen
crystal-looking flakes...

Push tiny tango waves
upon reflected sparkling silvery lakes
that crest s l i d e then fall
And spectator trees
that enciricle about the watery ballroom-lake
surface-floor,
then with airy fingertips
clap, clap together
the loudly whispering and rustling leaves
that applaud
the watery dancing waves below...

And with windy fingertips
sail white billowing cotton like
vapor-sails
across an unplowable
oceanless
spatial blue...

Glad God
You mostly are
puppeteer of every star
Dance sundries of objects
on your play-ball planet
and puppet-likened stage
And let me laugh
in zestful rage
about danceable things
that can be danced,
that can be danced
on windy-finger days...

Somewhere deep in the ocean hides a majestic creature.
With a gorgeous hair and an amazing feature.
Everybody thought it didn't exists
with it's beautiful face and voice, you just couldn't resist.

As I walk along the shoreline
I saw something grand, something divine.
I thought to myself maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me.
I'm thinking whether to sojourn or flee.

I gathered all of my strength and cast away the fear.
Her voice is the only thing that I can hear.
Now I'm beside her, standing & looking for the right words to say,
but all I can see is her smile that's as bright as the day.

As I finally said hi and catch my breath,
I remembered a legend about pirates & their sudden death.
Enchanted by a beautiful voice,
they're all ensnared without any other choice.

And with my love for her, now I am bound,
crying & lying hopelessly on the ground.
I'm engulfed with a burning sensation and she's the one that ignite,
this enormous flame called "love at first sight".

On the top of a magnificent mountain,
where the air was cool,
I met a Mountain Lady, hiding,
behind one of the trees.

She seemed to have an aura around her,
a light emanating from deep within.
She was adorned in the finest of silk,
in a color, I've never seen.

The wind was as if,
obeying her every command
The trees as if,
greeting her in every footsteps.
Even they were so captivated by her.

As thirsty and hungry as I was,
she gave me things to eat.
It was the most delicious
food  I have ever tasted.
And it was the most
quenching liquid that I have ever drank.

When I was under her trust...her control,
the humble lady decided to act.
Emerged out of her fingers,
were sparks of lightning.
They hit my chest.
And I felt as if I was stabbed,
with a thousand of the sharpest of knives.

I lost my breath,
and fell to the ground.
Her silk dress ignited in flames,
the fire consuming her,
before she transformed into a hideous being.
She rose from the ground,
flying out of the mountaintop.

This is all I remember,
of how I met the captivating Mountain Lady.
For I never woke from her evil spell

A fun trip to the mountains inspired me to write something about where I was...the climate...the trees. Good thing though I didn't make a mess of myself.
