the whirr of the fan, a flash of green in my belly button,
comic books on the nightstand, they might stand for real,
the way you steal a glimpse while we're all laughing at nothing,
the pause when we sit in your car after hanging with our friends,
circles the rain makes in puddles, rapid yet placid,
the subtle way you brush my hair away when it tickles you,
while i'm tucked under arm; a fond pillow,
when i curl up alone knotted in my sheets,
slipping my cold feet in the crooks of my legs to warm,
the only song that's been my alarm since you,
these are the things that make me miss you.

There's an eight wheeler,
with ice cold vapor
wisping upward and out toward
St. Mark's street walkers,
crust punks, do they think
of the frozen fish
and chilled shrimps
un-delicately
unloaded
delivered
to the subterranean
Japanese market
I purchase tempura from,
probably not. This scene
is written, it seems,
for me,
my glassy eyes,
a wandering stare
toward a banal
spectacle
displayed and private.

My back is bent
favoring the very branch sobbing
just outside my window.

The wind seems to be frightened by the storm or
exhausted by the sun
anyway,
the air    is still.

Still, i am
struggling to keep still
coping with the coupling of my mind
on days mundane
dim
dampening my mood.
"True we love life, not because we are used to living but because we are use to loving. There is always some madness in love, but there is also always reason in madness"

The truth that was
but couldn't be afar
behind the closed door
locked away forever.

Opens through in full circle,
the infinite touches on the finite:
Finity gains the ground to infinity.

Paradise kissed the earth,
pyramidon drops bouncing down
around the pyramid in reverse.
It’s on a golden spiral run
round the mundane and divine.

Only to find the intersection is locked,
not above, nor below, but in the numbers
heading to the exponential circular zero.

That too towards the origin sways,
because it’s in the human, lies the pi.

door opened
door shut, then locked
first morning urges
body greets the dawn

toilet seat up
pants unzipped
waste tube carefully aimed
flow turned on

trickling stream
becomes rushed torrent
small splashes
leave no mark

on steep polished porcelain walls
water slowly turning
clear to yellow
light to dark

liquid waste
flushed down the drain
shows signs
of dehydration

advising body
drink more water
restart the cycle
of urination
Everybody pees!

I wish
life was like a book
full of
crazy adventures and
forever love.

I wish
life was like a book
action packed and
never boring.
Even at the sake of
great sacrifice.

I wish life was like a book.
I want to be a heroine
who saves the boy she loves
and the world
with my demon swords and cunning wit.
Never boring.

kids genetically engineered to have bird wings
teens thrown in an arena to entertain by fighting for their lives
a chosen one who learns magic and saves the world
delinquents breaking the dystopian government for individuality
children of a gods that must fight monsters to survive
supernaturals that use runes and weapons to take back everything

That could be me!

and what have I done?
Nothing
and what is my life?
Trite

I wish my life was like a book
because this mundane existence
is exhausting me.
Why am I even here?

You make me want to write poetry,
but I fear I lack the talent to eloquently
put together the words,
to tell you how wonderful you are;
even in the most mundane of moments.

Flip on the music
Flip on the water
(Try not to burn myself)
Grab the implement,
(A sponge with soap)
Let the mind ponder,
Cups first? Or perhaps
The plates.
How shall everything
Fit together within
The drying rack?
Got challenged to write about something mundane and since I don't hate dishes 100% this is the result.
