Evening sun bathes with a warm glow of gold
Tree tops devoid of leaves and roof tops so cold
Frozen power lines stretch high from pole to pole
And cars are parked where neighbors are home.
It was 5 PM.  I was washing dishes. My eyes wander. I look through the window and see the deep blue, azure sky and trees glowing in a rich, orange, golden light. It's a winter sunset over city roofs. I quickly grab my cell phone and rush outside to snap photos. It's bitter cold, but the city sunset is beautiful and heartwarming.
My heart melted when I read that poem
I read the poets bio
It said he loves his wife
He said he writes just to see her smile
My heart thinned out more
Sank straight to my stomach
Then to my soul
I wish I could have seen the smile
When he referred to her
As his lioness

I want to first thank all my
supporters and readership.
I will read as soon as
I have the time and I can
give your work the attention it deserves.

I've been overwhelmed.
I have to make my presents this
Christmas. But I found out I'm in
excellent company...

FROM APPALACHIA WITH LOVE

Gra'ma Annie had a mission
to help children in need
she lives up in the hills
where they grow their food from seed.

They have no running water
no facilities indoors
still heat and cook with wood
don't buy much from stores
there are folk so destitute
they still have dirt floors.

Li'l Annie was a scrapper
90 pounds if soaking wet.
But her heart is just enormous
as big as one can get!

She found out 'bout a drive
for children overseas
in Africa and Asia
Haiti and the Belize

How the people in those countries
had no presents for to give
their children at Christmas
they could barely live!

She contacted the charity
and said she'd send some toys
as many as possible
to the poor girls and boys.

Annie had no phone
so she walked far and wide
and asked all the hillfolk
throughout the countryside
to whittle and to paint
toys in which to pride!

Those people got together
and carved ponies and dolls
that had joints that moved
and real hair that falls!

They whittled and sanded
painted with rainbow hues
and when they had delivered them
it made world news!

The children overseas
who got them still recall
they kept their homemade presents...

THEIR FAVORITES OF ALL!

MY FATHER "NEVER HAD A CHRISTMAS"*

My father was a child
in a place called Isle la Monte
winter's are quite brutal
in that part of Vermont.

His family were farmers
they lived off the land
they had gardens and stored their food
they worked hard with their hands

They had to really struggle
to make the frayed ends meet
dad walked 14 miles total
through the snow and sleet
to get to his schoolhouse
sometimes with frozen feet

Every year at Christmas time
his mom would be in tears
she would never say much
but stated that she feared

there would be no Christmas
no presents and no tree
it was always the same.
Grandpa would agree.
So the children went to bed
every Christmas eve.

But they weren't sad
because they always knew
that Santa was coming
and so they weren't blue.

Sure 'nuf in the morning
they'd tumble out of bed
and in the once-bare corner
there was a *tree instead!

There were many presents
most carved and painted things
grandma got the practical stuff
no perfume or rings.

But the Christmas meal was cooking
and all through the home
the smell... that sumptuous dinner...

well. That's another poem...!

But before the feast was eaten
grandfather said Grace
and thanked the blessed Lord
and ALWAYS SOUGHT HIS FACE.

The ship mary celeste.
For her beauty he protest.
A hearts gate that opens with crystals.
Her heart was in a million pieces.
Standing at your hearts gate calling but the only response was the wind blowing and birds singing.
A poem that is heartwarming.
For her to hear me I cry out for.
He forgot she doesn't live there anymore.©M.P.Jacobs

The burning feelings we had
Passionately we loved
Like flames enveloping us
till everything turned to dust

I guess we might have loved too much
The spark that we ignited
turned into flames we could not handle

The fire spread
From HEARTWARMING
Came to HEART BURNING

This is just heartbreaking

But no longer Shall I fret
For no longer will my heart break
for only ashes remain

From the once burning heart
From the once burning Love

I've fallen for your infectious smile,
it makes me giddy
I like my smile next to yours
I've fallen for our conversations,
the ones that make us do a double take at the time
when 1 AM rolls around
I used to wish time away,
now I couldn't possibly have enough with you
I've fallen for your eyes- which are so ******* beautiful
I've fallen for the nights we stay together. our nights
you in your PJ's get me every time
I've fallen for how we both know "I have to go" doesn't mean leaving for at least another hour
Again, wishing time could slow down
I've fallen for the way you make me feel at home
often taken to mean "heartwarming"
A hard fact
That I've come to accept
With a heavy heart
Is that I can't help everyone
And though this upsets me
I know that if I do as much as I can
It's enough to make a difference.
I learnt this whilst giving my bit of change
To a small malnourished girl
Hoping it'd pay for her meal that night
Wishing I could do more I noticed eyes
Boring into my soul and looking up
I saw a man give the girl a box of sweets
Meant for his little girl waiting at home
And this heartwarming act I was part of
Led me to realize that no matter how small my actions were
They made a big difference.
/never dismiss any generous action as small because intentions are what matter in the end and people follow by examples set out before them. Be that example even if in a minis scale seemingly insignificant way. With small acts like this it's enough to influence a society to become warmer to one another and to care for one another. You never know when an act of yours even good manners and niceties could leave a deep influential meaning on a person./

The soul of a shoe...

It gets trampled on each day
Yet it is there the next

Its gets all the rough parts of life
Yet it supports others

For a shoe without a soul...

Is nothing but a usless shell
