Let me embrace you
And melt the glaciers in you with my warmth
Sing you songs I orchestrate with the birds and trees
Dance with you as humid wind blows
Cry a little as rain sprinkles
Smell the petrichor that lingers
While feeling the sun kissing your skin just like the first time
Draw hopscotch on pavement
And laugh 'cause it's awfully done
Hear the subtle waves crashing against your feet
Feel the soft sand
As you follow the shallow footprints on the shore by some strangers...

Dearest Winter,

Let me sneak into your season
And I'd invite Spring to bloom daisies for you
Frostbites might take away my colors for a while
But I'd never regret losing hues if it would help you feel alive even once.

A letter from Summer

~
With all too
familiar moorings,

holding fast the chain
of sons and daughters,

this hiding place
isn't watertight,

life trickles in everywhere,
hopeful to the bitter end.

And
Won't the doorman
Cease to see?
- The one is busy, counts to call!
And
Won't the dormant
Cease to be?
- The sun is dizzy, wants to fall!
And
Won't adornments
Cede to me?
- The pun is easy, mounts to bawl!
End.
- Wont the poor men...
Need do we?
The fun is fizzy, Hunts too small!

You found me churning,
Bouncing up and down
As I rolled dramatically downhill.
You knew what would be better
And calmly intervened

You took hold with confident hands
And bent my trajectory
Up into U shaped happiness

The highs and lows have softened
The amplitude modulated
The direction now up and forward

I want you with me on this gentle arc
Our slopes equivalent
Our speeds matched

Ahead I can see
sunny days on lakes
crisp mornings in the mountains
Autumns on golden ponds.

Our path winds by popped corks and caps thrown,
New suits for social media internships,
Wedding toasts and father-daughter dances.

We will share new houses with old friends,
Co-ed baby showers with pink predator t-shirts,
Bad poems at retirement parties.

I could not see these things if it weren’t for you
Thank you for bending my curve

so many choices, I am riddled with doubt
eight of cups, which one is the one

so many chances, I am riddled with dread
eight of pentacles, build myself up again

so many crooks, I am riddled with trepidation
eight of swords, I feel powerless just waiting

so many critics, I am riddled with consternation
eight of wands, I knew you were coming all along

The most dangerous blindness in this world is happiness
For it becomes easy to mistake the devil’s hellfire for the warmth of an angel
we don't look too closely
and certainly don't look
directly at it
it's something that
as far as we are aware
has always been there
and always will be

it sends us
its warmth
its light
and from this
comfort
     and peace
will be shared

unseen
by eyes that are
unwilling to look;
at its surface
is a storm of fire
a raging
that cannot be controlled
with the power
to destroy it all

don't look too closely
just smile back

Look at all the green
And forget all the blue
You’re outside now
And it can’t touch you

There are no songs to express my joy,
So I sing them all in glee.
There are no songs that feel my sorrow,
So silent I will be.

Some days are good
Or I think they really are
I soak up the sun
And reach for the stars
Some days are bad
I suppose they really are
The sun seems too hot
And the stars — too far.
