I am your low roar     of distant thunder,
you are my intense     flashes of lightning.
18:00 - 16/06/17
State of mind: euphoric; ecstasy.

Thoughts: from feeling - the storm within.

Questions: none.

The eyes of the world     have looked upon you.
So sad they only     saw your pouting lips.
15:00 - 15/06/17
State of mind: concentration; focused; thoughtful.

Thoughts: from thinking - about an illustration I saw from art & philosophy's Facebook page. It was a criticism of the modern, narcissistic, selfie-taking culture.

Questions: How can we design working environments that makes laziness difficult and productivity easy and enjoyable?

Hour by hour,      the morning sunrise
steals the night away.      Swallows, please shut up.
05:10 - 14/06/17
State of mind: restless; over-thinking

Thoughts: from thinking - about anything that will distract me from the swallows.

Questions: none

Thin streaks of sunlight      chase away shadows
through the shutters slits,      swallows still singing.
04:45 - 14/06/17
State of mind: restless; over-thinking

Thoughts: from observation - of watching the sunlight diffusing the darkness. Light breaks into my room, spreads across the walls, like an enlightenment or a sudden realisation.

Questions: none

At the crack of dawn,      an indigo glow.
As swallows sing, I'm      restless with waiting.
03:30 - 14/06/17
State of mind: restless; over-thinking

Thoughts: from experience - of being awake at the crack of dawn and watching the indigo glow lighten by the hour.

Questions: none

There's a second self     rolling in the deep.
They're felt but, sometimes,     I glimpse a shadow.
10:30 - 11/06/17
State of mind: anxious.

Thoughts: from feeling - my intuition and reflection take some sort of form. Like a guide or guardian showing us the next move or way forward.
Over the years, it's becoming easier to connect. It feels like a low frequency, like latching on to something faint and distant.

Rolling in the deep has a double meaning.

Questions: Is there a way to permanently latch on to this shadow? Is that healthy? Would we not become as faint and distant?

The lightness of your     spirit bounces by,
like a binding ether      joining all the dots.
11:50 - 10/06/17
State of mind: joy.

Thoughts: from thinking - about the free spirit, the joyful weightlessness and emptiness, the space inbetween, holding all matter together.

Questions: none.

They are the masters,     the thousand failed ways,
knowing what is best,     knowing what is not.
01:15 - 10/06/17
State of mind: optimistic; complex.

Thoughts: from feeling - that making mistakes are an important part of learning. They should be supported and examined. Great things have unfolded from the accidental.

Knowing a thousand ways that don't work is knowing why the one that does, is best.

Questions: how can failure be experienced in a way that encourages persistence?

No halfway's mark me     as full or empty
when a drop of hope     can change someone's life.
12:30 - 9/06/17
State of mind: defiant; focused.

Thoughts: from thinking - about the saying 'is your glass half full or empty'?

I realise that it is a passive question, not serious, but merely to reveal a person's attitude or outlook.

What I'm exploring with this is the idea of, not just thinking about a person's attitude, but what the actual contents of the glass are. A glass half full might taste of sorrow.

Questions: the glass may be half full or empty but where is the source from which it is filled or drained?

The sun is just as      passing as I am,
but there's light in days     that helps a world grow.
18:00 - 08/06/17
State of mind: deep thought; meditative.

Thoughts: from feeling - the smallness and powerlessness of being but feeling, simultaneously, connected to a greater meaning.

I just woke up - possibly still connected to threads of my sub-conscious.

Questions: Are we like the sun rising in the east, setting in the west? What light shall fill this day?
