Have you ever had to fight the urge
to get in your car and drive
away from the cold,
from hands so old
that grip you tight,
hold you to the light
and mock you for being
unable to reach it?

Because getting behind the wheel when you're having a mental breakdown is a terrible decision.
Sometimes there is nothing
Nothing but the pain
Of looking in the same old eyes
That never seem to change

Over and over and over again
The shadow shifts the flame
From your source of power
To a prison for your brain

What does it mean to crawl in life
When destiny's uphill

What does it take to learn that fate
 Is woven out of will

You are the only one
Who can stand tall and fight

You are the only one
That knows which wrongs are right

You are the only one
Mechanic and machine

You are the only one
Who can master all your dreams

One day in the silver
You will choose to see
The ghostly wreckage of you
Handing you the key

There's no pecking order
If you step out of line
There is nothing there to break
When you can't be defined

You have to reach inside yourself
And work through the grind

To pull free the excalibur
From the stone within your mind

You are the only one
Who can stand tall and fight

You are the only one
That knows which wrongs are right

You are the only one
Mechanic and machine

You are the only one
Who can master all your dreams

Now you play the kings game
Now you understand

The enemy of humankind
Is the fear in the heart of man

My posture is straight and arms on the wheel
but eyes on the rear with a guilt feel.
Imagining it different
where I could have been.

Out came the noise of a gentle breeze ,
leaning behind , I watched my thoughts.
While it tried to distract me
I sit back and observe, untying the knots.

It puts me on auto pilot,
day dreaming what could have been.
Did I imagine it differently ,
same canvas but a random scene ?

It fades with reality but lets us grow,
so make peace with it,  just let it go
Man and mistake, like string and twine
it is alright to repeat, do it twice.

Regretting my regrets , I put a smile on my face.
Not anymore, like red rags to a bull.
Througt potholes and traffic , I learned my pace.
I drove this far, so it is at least half full.
How far? Well that's a Disgrace .  :) :)

At least we came so far to at least read and write poems online :) .

Regrets of a Glass Half Full .

The idea conveyed here is to replace Regret with gratitude and look at things from a different perspective .
All it takes is a moment to fall back behind the energy and observe it,as put forward by Michael A singer in the book - The Untethered soul

Azure skies stretch above me,
the sun a fiery devil.
It warms my hands as I drive,
the steering wheel
a permit for freedom.
Things he do for love
Will inspire us even you.
He will conquer all.

i was a long drive

and a short trip.

and you hated being behind the wheel.
so you decided it just wasn’t worth it

Another night, another drive. She fills the tank and presses her foot to the gas pedal, she doesn’t know where she’s going, she never does.
She follows the curves of the road, when she can feel the hot tears on her face, she turns the volume dial down, and lets the voices in her head escape, she doesn’t know who she’s talking to; maybe God, maybe herself, maybe just the universe.
When the chaos of her mind clears and her cheeks dry. She turns the volume dial back up, and heads home, knowing it’s only a matter of time until the road calls her back for another drive.
Within these memories
Are things I wish to say
I drown in the thoughts of you
The ghosts of yesterday
Whisper the pain away

Where ever you are
Be loved

When your silver soul's a blaze
when it's wild, when it's free
When you can't find your way
Or the day's to grey to see
Even when you're life's a lie
Or full of battle cries

Where ever you are
Be loved

Oh fly away my heart
To be with you each day
And wash away this sadness
This missing you decay
look for me my only ones
Within the stars Above

Where ever you are
Be loved

Where ever you are . . .
With love,

The drive
