Autumn air;
How you steady me.

Dewy overcast;
Where have you hid the sun?

Swayful trees;
I bought this sweater for you.

Mirrored puddle;
You can’t fool these boots.

Crowding pigeons;
Find your own bagel!

Taxi driver,
Over here! Hey! Over here!

kidz are smoking my songs, drinkin' and sniffin'
welcome to the trip-inn, where magic is grippin'
the tragic city, neon lights, neon lights, demon's nights
i'm all in, never ever falling, swirling frisky, like a frisbee

45 to 88, made myself a shake
beat like an earthquake, first take
crying for a remake, dying for a remake
1000 tons of cheesecake, beafsteakz

yummy yummy, my past was slummy
so, you find tizzop where the ice is
my lifestyle is priceless, priceless
i don't care, nobody is viceless

how could one dare to imitate this flair?
i don't say words, i shout "yeah yeah!"
ipod-white teeth, you stop to breathe
and now be good, baby, get on ya knees

the night i let my heart play its course
i was curious
the night with no labels
i was comfortable
the night we celebrated you
i was content
the night you were knocked out
i was chilling
the night where we almost
i was complicated
none of it should have happened
this night restarted a toxic cycle

3 days
until I'm on the road
back to you.
I come
carrying some hope
that "we" are not overdue.
I begin
to remember all
of what we used to do.
the day
finally comes to leave so
I set to depart in a few.
the road
induces me to play
Suncity, a go-to.
passing lanes
under a tangerine sky
wishing you could see it too.
I begin
to notice glimmering
lights out of the blue.
stepping out
little did my heart know
what it would go through.
a feeling
helpless against heartbreak
please, maybe we can start anew...
this does not sound like closure

From the eleventh floor
the world looks small
and possible

The cars
     black and white
     parked perpendicular
          to the curb
     parallel
          to each other
are keys
     ebony and ivory

I reach out
through the window
and play the street like a piano

What a city!
What tales to tell!

A pizza boy crossing the street
impatient, tired features
clicking of heels on the stairs
their elbows touch
strangers from different worlds
intimate for a fleeting moment

Wailing of an ambulance
crashing with the seductive smell
from the corner coffeeshop

A girl flirting with the waiter
while round the block
at a divorce court
one fairy tale ends

Yesterday's newspaper
left on the bus seat
a homeless man in the park
humming quietly
the city has many faces

Raindrops on your office window -
is it a life what's happening out there?

city lights becoming brighter and brighter.
glimmering

reflecting from your eyes. I see the ambition and optimism you carry.
glowing

a life where you don't despise or get caught up in your flaws.
gleaming

in the distance is your future.
this is an old one
