brown eyes
taste like a glass of fine whiskey
that stay stuck in your memory
melting you like hot cocoa
and reminds you of home
those who hook with mine
one more time and forever
full of curiosity
and infinite beauty

All of the colors in the world but
His eyes shook my core
I fell in love with the color brown
When I gazed into them
I begin to drown

I made a house in those eyes
From the ground up
I started to build
Oh I loved you
I'd put him in my will

Home
Wood floors
Memories of footsteps
Love was knocking at my door

For my garden
Only soil as close to the color of those
Dark brown eyes
I planted a life in his soul
Our walls made of solid gold

Dark brown eyes
I could feel him watch me
My favorite color, just like coffee
A cup of you each morning
His touch left my skin scorning

My boy with dark brown eyes
Why would you destroy
The greatest home of your life

You're so much like our father
With the careless gaze you have
Your unempathetic, selfish ways
Your golden, bright blond hair.

Perhaps it is why you coloured it brown
So you'd look more like me instead
You must not have noticed yet, dear brother
I look so much like our dad.
The leaves dead brown
Softly hummed and feathered
A few storms they have weathered

Chase the wheels on the road
Hop skip and jump in between
The mirthful laughter on mute
All in a competition cute

At the traffic signals
Behind the wheels
They stop short in their tracks
Joined by new mates
In the last flight of their fate
A little observation on the road

I was strong,
But not for very long.
They kept putting me down,
And I kept giving them a frown.

It wasn't my mistake.

I was brown
And they kept putting me down..

Wishing to get attention like the fair ones,
I kept slapping myself with powder buns.
Hating them was not my job,
But loving them was a little odd.

My heart was clean,
But they were really mean.
They kept putting me down,
Just because I was brown.

he once told me
"you're eyes are gorgeous"
but i didn't believe you
i thought
"how could he love my brown eyes"
how could he love something so ugly

he told me
they were captivating
he could get lost in them
he could stare at them all day and never get tired of them
he pointed out all the colors they were in the sunlight
he pointed out how my eyes weren't just brown
they were green
and blue
and yellow
and brown.
he told me that he could lose himself in my eyes

i guess he lost himself so bad
that he left me
maybe i left him
but
to this day
i've learned to love my eyes.
my ex actually told me this, kinda made me cry writing this but oh well

Fire-flecks and sunsets settle in your eyes,
Chocolate dust like copper rust, my heart replies,
Love within that globe of iris, so, so bright,
They glow in my light.

Cinnamon on winter nights, they hold me tight,
Autumn crunch on golden leaves, they love me right,
Maybe they have cast a spell, which I can't fight,
They glow tonight.

the majority of people in the world overall have brown eyes
to dark eyes.
i see people every day who all mostly have brown eyes.
but when i stare into his eyes
they are a different shade of brown.
this brown shade of his eyes
make me fall deeper for him.
i get so lost in them that i don't even notice when he solves his rubik's cube.
his brown eyes are the same shade of my favorite chocolate.
it makes me enjoy his eyes even more.
his brown eyes make me believe that he's the only one in this world with this color of eyes.
the majority of people in the world
don't have the same color as his eyes.
he makes me think that i am seeing brown for the first time.
he makes me feel alive.
1,434.9 miles away
to my love
The color of mud,
they live underground.
Only coming up
when they want to be found.

Oh, woe is me,
a mere farmer,
that I produce
a product as ugly as me.

It can't help its
oblong nature,
bland taste
or simple denature.

‘Tis but a spud
of different types,
colors, and shapes,
yet still manages to have a bud.

A simple starch,
that much is known,
but when added to things,
it brings in a life all its own.
