I dont want to be
Your verbal punching bag. So
Please just set me free

Several college students stood around
arguing about the meaning of God.
Nearby sat an old Indian woman.
They asked her what she thought.

With a wan smile
she took a small blue bowl
from a plastic shopping bag
laid the crinkly bag on her lap
and pointing to it she said
“This is the universe.”
Then she pointed inside the bag’s opening
and said,
“This is God.”

When i was fourteen
I learnt how to tie a rope
And practiced on a small string
until i could tie it with my eyes closed

i kept it in my pocket
i placed it in my bag
I played with it when i was lonely
and held it in my hands

Now i'm nineteen
I no longer remember how to tie a rope
But i still keep my small string
In the deep corner of my drawer
only words never actions

Cup
Impatiently sitting on the bench ahead
Cup stares at me as if wanting to be fed
So I grab Cup and find a boiling kettle
Fill Cup with water hoping it will settle
But Cup begins to steam and nag
So I search the cupboard for a tea bag
Choosing one from the others, I quickly drop it in
The water changing colours, makes me throw it in the bin
I think the dark stuff is something bad
And Cup seems to look pretty sad
So I try to swallow the black stuff away
But my method seems to make Cup dismay
Before I begin, something hot hurts my lip
I didn’t realise that Cup could nip
So I hurry towards the kitchen sink
Tip Cup upside down, before I can think
Cup throws up, being upside down
I forgot Cup got sick when moved around
So I put Cup back where he was
I can see that Cup feels better because
Cup is no longer steaming or spewing any more
Come to think of it, I don’t know why I touched Cup at all!

I plug in the
vacuum cleaner
to **** it up
and see
if it disappears
into a bag
that holds
everything
that is black
and blue.

Hey, temptress!
You pretty little thing.
You wrapped around my neck,
Then you began to sing.
You breathed into my mouth,
And I took all of you in.

Hey, crooner!
You sultry seamstress...
My only Eleni Mandell.
You were lulling me to sleep,
So onto my bed, I fell.
And I thought I was in heaven...
Never thought I'd wake up in hell.
And I am never coming back...
This much, I can tell.

Hey, Betty!
You told me...
Everything's gonna be alright.
But my momma's been cryin'...
All day, all night.

****, Betty!
You told me...
You were gonna set things right.
But, everywhere, there's just fire,
And it has set my soul alight.
a mixed bag*
is the odd weather for to-day
a mixed bag
the fast wind whirling its south swag
in minutes changing to calm sway
quite the spectacle on display

No one cared
that there was an unattended bag on the train.
Staring at their phones, not looking around
what's going on,
raising heads only to see if it's their stop,
busy with Facebook notifications,
Instagram posts and youtube sensations,
commuting to work
from A to B,
half-******, half-asleep.
At 7am it's hard to be happy,
when you are going to work,
it's hard
to be something more
than a dumb, silent slave of the modern times.

No one cares about the unattended bag.
It's hard to give a ****,
when no one gives a ****.
You wanna talk to the driver? Good luck.

Someone noticed the bag, got a bit suspicious,
he looked around, and it was hard
to produce a word, to open his mouth,
to make all heads turn to him, all their eyes
have them fixed on you, when you are trying to explain
what's your concern.

There's no members of staff on the train anyway,
you don't wanna be late for work,
because of the stupid bag.

It's much easier to carry on
with staring at your phone,
not thinking of anything,
not getting paranoid about stuff.
It will spare you troubles in life.

I carry many suitcase of quotes
begging to be transformed into post.
They come to my table
so I may eat from their insights.
So I choose to first feel their music in heart,
then with fingertips that dance on keyboard, I explode in the energy of creation.

End result a posting
on sight where readers faces are veiled,
But I feel their hearts echo.
just a silly vision I had of a suitcase of quotes that I carry around so I turned into a poem on this new day where poems fly into heart.
