Two men
Strung to the poles
Bedazzled in love

A girl
At the apex
Stringing them along

A classic triangle
Hopeless romance of sorts.

They meet on the decision day
Under the cherry blossoms
The girl having made her mind

said,

“No thanks I like my triangles with crust, marinara, and mozzarella spread.”

I wanted to crawl into your side
missing the rhythm of your heart
spanning a bridge between our flesh

When you feel my skin so close to yours,
Do you want to place your fingertips where your eyes so often go?
And do I make your heart flutter and your mind go numb?
And am I that girl who just might turn your world around?

What is it about attraction to other bodies and souls?

What kind of madness is this game of want and no?

Good day, Happy Eyes!
I'm always happy to be with you, it's funny
If I am drunk, I'll start thinking that you are a bunny
Don't mind the nonsense, I'm still finding the words
To say it simply that I'm thankful you are here
You were there, I wasn't looking for I was in fear
Problems in life can't be swept away with a bottle of beer
But you came in a sweet cinnamon summer time
Suddenly, I felt the warmth in December-cold June
I can never thank you enough, but thank you anyway.

I like boys
They can protect me from the world
A world filled with pain and betrayal
I can wear their jumpers and t shirts
I can feel safe in their arms

I like girls
They can make me smile and forget
Forget about the tears I’ve shed
They can wear my perfume and rings
I can feel loved when holding hands

There’s nothing wrong with that, right?
All I want is love and protection
To date the pretty girls
To date the bad boys

Yet, I still get hate
To society I don’t exist
My sexuality isn’t valid
Its. Just. A. Phase

They call me greedy
They say I’m confused
Just pick, they say
Bisexuality isn’t a thing

Jokes on them
I won’t pick a side
God said Adam and Eve
So, I did both

The Sky Was Turning Blue
by Michael R. Burch

Yesterday I saw you
as the snow flurries died,
spent winds becalmed.
When I saw your solemn face
alone in the crowd,
I felt my heart, so long embalmed,
begin to beat aloud.

Was it another winter,
another day like this?
Was it so long ago?
Where you the rose-cheeked girl
who slapped my face, then stole a kiss?
Was the sky this gray with snow,
my heart so all a-whirl?

How is it in one moment
it was twenty years ago,
lost worlds remade anew?
When your eyes met mine, I knew
you felt it too, as though
we heard the robin's song
and the sky was turning blue.

The morning dew kisses
Yearning leaves,
As the first rays of the sun
Bring me relief.
Flowers bloom
In the month of March,
Chirping birds hum
rhythms that recharge.
And with the first sight
of your arching face,
I fall back into
teen ways.
