What Goes Around, Comes
by Michael R. Burch

This is a poem about loss
so why do you toss your dark hair—
unaccountably glowing?

How can you be sure of my heart
when it’s beyond my own knowing?

Or is it love’s pheromones you trust,
my eyes magnetized by your bust
and the mysterious alchemies of lust?

Now I am truly lost!

I have walked in this city
Calmly lethal, it is electricity —
Do I, dear heart whisper it to my head
That you will yet again on this path tread?
Current ripples run through my spine.
How do I defend your irregular beats
The deafening crescendo and the mercurial
Diminuendo hand-made by the shock
Of this very hour?

You had seen her before dear heart
The butterflies were just eggs
Did they grow in gloom of the night?
For the voltage flies like a kite
I have walked in this perplexity
Deja vu! It gags my spirit —
You will break again and she will
Take her share of the shard like others,
Run, and leave me in shock!.
Contemplating the risks of a new beginning

Feasting my eyes on beauty of yours
all of my senses drinking you in
like a man starving craves for his course
like a man thirsty gulps down his gin

I can feel your eyes
slowly shedding layers off my skin.

I can see your twitching hands,
all about to find the beast within.

Leaning into you,
my breath slowly reaching your ears,

whispering obscenities
you could have only ever heard in your wildest dreams.
The quarantine is doing a number on me.

Fascination with Light
by Michael R. Burch

Desire glides in on calico wings,
a breath of a moth
seeking a companionable light,

where it hovers, unsure,
sullen, shy or demure,
in the margins of night,

a soft blur.

With a frantic dry rattle
of alien wings,
it rises and thrums one long breathless staccato

and flutters and drifts on in dark aimless flight.

And yet it returns
to the flame, its delight,
as long as it burns.

You are beautiful from endless angles
Even with every flaw
Truth is so easy to see
Scars fill me with awe

I love you the way you look
You are light when skies are grey
Life appears brighter when you are around
Grows sunnier each day

Be the person you are right now
The only one I love
First thought on my morning mind
The face I'm dreaming of

Bound for the heavens
Have no doubt
Stars spell out your four-letter name
Before eyes they steadily burn out
So much blue all seeming the same

Some things are indescribable
Never seen such perfection
Heard beauty depends on who beholds
All hearts have different perception
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder

And there's something that happens
When we talk
When we touch
As our buttons unfasten
Pour feelings into *** and such

Trying not to overthink each action
No matter how I try
Cannot avoid distraction
Sounds of ecstasy amplify

When our hot blood flows faster
Worlds halt breifly and stand still
Irresistible desire becomes my master
Leaves me desperate for your thrill
I don't write about *** much but if making love is not living breathing poetry than what is?

She’s an alien
A pretty alien who is capable of attracting others to her own planet
She’s a little different
But kind and caring and funny too
Like a girl from the books
She’s my specification of a lady

He's a benz and I'm his Santa Fe but the way he looked at me made me feel like a Ferrari.

Bright hot red shiny metal glistening in the sun, lust colored eyes revving up my engine (spirit).

Sleek, calm, mature.

Mercedes, tell me when you'll be ready for love and I promise to come running at full speed.

You have always made me feel wanted
Your heart forever welcome
You always think I'm pretty
Will you no matter how fat I become?

Will always relish my body
Your hands performing their repoirtore
Tuning every piece of flesh
Strumming nerves like a guitar

Making me believe your words are true
Touch my core with care I feel
Demanding your love be known
In ways proving your admiration is real
