Lilies in the long grass
wild with tigers, striped orange
under trees, cool canopied
buds of sun blossoming
pretty cats slumber
sleek they dream.

Nights,
twitching whiskery
breathing slow
slinking low
as if to stalk
shock the sallow moon
hunt and growl
purr and prowl
animals whispering
stark the tiger lilies
glistening.

Your scarlet hair
        like a fire
                like the eternal flame
                        forever
                                will burn me.
budgie soft feathered
yellow green plume
when with him together
goes fog of gloom.

dance he prances joyous
with enchanting grace
when his feathers brush
it's only happiness.

his sweetly gaily spin
crazy acrobats
sparks a light within
moves hands in claps.

on fingers loves to roost
his nails softly *****
gives my spirit boost
cloud disperses quick.

snuggles up to me
heart he easy wins
my dolly jolly budgie
I fondly call him Prince.
On a clear sky night
The sound of harmonica dancing
By the angles of the Moon

Drum pounds  widespread
Waves floating in an ecstatic pace
The quiet bay listened with radiant Shells

Star specks lit sky humming
The Earth murmuring deeply
Pines reverberating in back chorus

Kids giggling around trippin' in thick dark
Tripping over some minor rocks, happy to
Embrace the unexpected music, dogs wiggling

Heavenly carousel shining upon their faces
Theater dreaming  of the joyfull now
This exuberant laughter unsyncopated

Steps rhythm fading on their paths
Instruments put down, sounds of
Crickets, bare naked, two plunges

the ebb and flow
her tidal pull
a lunar fullness
draws me home,
it’s gentle sway
at eventide
it pulls me closer
to her side.
this homeward port
a harbor safe
a slip secure
tis where i rest,
my home here sure
o'erlooks this bay
it’s here i lie;
all hopelessness
all tears i cry
swept clean as sand
at highest tide,
and in its place
here's what i find,
a hopefulness
a peace of mind,
a breathless beauty
a bright divine.
oh, cluttered soul
this life's debris
like clear blue sky
swept far from me
to ocean's deep.
here all the why's
i ask of life
are ever lost
though ne'er replied
once tempest tossed
now free to breath
safe in her arms
most restful sleep.

there is something about coming home;
having a place of refuge, of safety...
more than just a roof over one’s head,
if it be a place of peace, it is a place of rest,
and there is nothing else, anywhere like it.
these last few nights, watching
a lunar cycle climbing to its peak,
i reflect on how much i am drawn to her,
like the tide... there is no other place
on earth, none where i’d rather be
than in the shelter, the comfort...
of her arms.

Some say
she is lost to writing poems
snippets, little vignettes of beauty
so much nature inspired, obsessed
with green, botany driven desires
forever in skies, blue, or black with stars
meteor showers, falling, melting
like the liquid silver, red sea of mars
crashing waves, her days
tossed, tumbled, stumbling onto poetry
there is no fault, in words
no shame to be made
would be a sorrowful price to pay
she is writing to find
some truths, a sleuth, a seeker
of going within, without doubt
writing to find herself
most days searching out signs of life
to feel what it would be like, to be
in trees, in leaves, to sleep in green towers
of garden lily bowers
to finally dream in lucid colors, surreal
climbing invisible ladders
in orchards of apple blossom Springs
to sing, sing, sing

The crow works its way sideways on the wire.
Nature lives at full tilt. It does not worry

That it may soon be used up.  It lives in the moment
In pursuit of having a fulfilled purpose.

For the busy crow the fleeting moments pass unnoticed;
Time scarcely has consequences for the satisfied;

Down he flies for crusts of hamburger buns.

A small flower
Forlorn, questing,
Reaches skyward, tight-budded,
Yearning for the gentle touch
of nurturing rays.
Oh, fragile,
Trying not to drown
In the cold, relentless rain.
Bright star, I need you so,
Without you, I will shrivel and die.
Warm me, lift me skyward,
Touch me, kiss me
Open my petals,
Only you can see my colours,
Feed my heart,
Encourage me to bloom.

It cannot put pen to paper
But all a flower has to do
Is open up its delicate petals
Unfolding like a noble lady's fan
Broadening to blossom into a lovely jewel
Poetry without any word

A spider weaves its web
Like an author spins tales
It's intentions upon its survival, but
Its intricate home of threads and strings
Like a gossamer harp
Is enchanting to perceive
A make and design of fragile strength

The oceans and seas
Mighty and commanding
They roar and display their majesty
With crashing waves and splashy bravado
They spare few prisoners
And graveyards of sunken ships
Whisper of stories untold

Birds chirp and warble
With songs that humans long to know
For they travel through the air
In simplistic freedom
Their chorus of communication
Is a poetic symphony just as entertaining
As any band of musicians or artists

The winds blow and whistle
Though they have no mouths
If you listen close enough
You can hear their secrets
Their breath of life in the
Ever flowing
Breezes that enfold us

You'd swear the mountains
Were painted that way
Brawny and broad, peaked high above
Against the grand canvas we call the sky
Yes, paintings are poems, too
For a picture speaks a thousand words
But no mere man can make a mountain

You see
We are merely students
Taught by God's natural, creative genius
We are merely imitators
Of what nature displays
We are not originals
For we are not the first poets
Nor the first storytellers

It is Lady Winter's
time to shine
Swirls of snowflakes
covering the world
Remaking it
into a Winter Wonder Land
Icicles glisten
sparkling like
Diamonds in the sky
That hushed
Reverence
that envelops
my world
Showing me the
beauty of Silence
in this Winter Wonder Land

White river running
Delicately
Ethereal glow of
Twilight hues
Suffusing the atmosphere
Stark purple

Grass covered in aftermath
Of night's freezing cold
Miniature icicles
Tapering on mossy rocks
Melting with the sun's
Scattered rays
Unruffled indulgence
Bone-chilling splendour
In the arms of the mountain mist

Love transcends time and distance
Death cannot quell the loving heart
But each mile weighs a thousand pounds
And we are a thousand miles apart

Darlin' the universe has spoken
And rained down from the skies
Birthed reality in our souls
As it opened up our eyes

Life is bathed in hues of gold
The heart now beats in time
With souls who searched millenia
To be complete, sublime

But each mile weighs a thousand pounds
And we are a thousand miles apart
Love transcends time and distance
Even death can't quell a loving heart
