she used to see things
with a touch of innocence
and a glimmer of good
ideas misunderstood
her heart just wanted
to invite a different form
a craving which
consumed her core
inhibition of reality
disorienting the young spirit
from her well acquainted world
elements of deception
took control of the broken girl
a new shift of life
take away the sugar
replace with the spice
Why are we so afraid to fall
Perhaps we fear
there being no one there
to catch you
What if it was different

my sentiments are deep
they keep me full
to experience entirely
radiates as a whole
seeking validation
inherently brings destruction
you cannot empathize
these thoughts
too intricate to define
feelings which are mine
a heart that beats
to the rhythm around
from a slow and steady pace
now a punch and a pound
my past brought me here
let my symphony
be written by this tempo
of emotional harmony

the scent of her sweat
cigarette ash on my skin
she says, "don't forget."
as she whispers to my ear
the story of how we met

theres a
crater in the
moon i see
tonight. a
firm reminder
that i am
only good
if im giving.

a man tells
me there are no
trees here, but i
see them all
the time. we must
be in two
different places.

Once in a dream,
You were only a gleam
A ray of blinding sun.

When nights long ago,
You said you loved me so
Well I guess it was only make believe.

Years come to pass,
My first and my last
This fire never ignites for another

The embers you left behind,
Still burn within my mind
A dancing swirling splendor.
I still love you, but you moved on

I don’t care how
or care what you do
to make it happen;
I just told you
make me shine
so slather me in turpentine.

I want the sun to shrink
and the world turn dark,
when she’ll no longer rise
after she rests her eyes
upon my fiery spark.

I want the moon to swoon
and raise the tides
when he looks for the sun,
but instead
it’s my beauty that he finds.

I want the stars to bow down
and shower me in gold
when I shine brighter
and reach higher
than the stars of old.

I want storms to make
the world stir
when I walk upon
their earth,
no matter what it’ll take.

I don’t care
if it kills me;
just answer my plea.
I just want, so badly,
to shine,
so slather me in turpentine.

the mirror reflects its
nearest surrounding;
is a human body any
better than a mirror?
