maybe i wanted you to leave
maybe i wanted you to go
maybe it's true i pushed you away,
it's only because i know,
no one ever stays

maybe i liked you a lot
maybe i could have learned to love
maybe your smile filled my world
and the sound of your voice
it made my toes curl

maybe you are just really busy
maybe you're just a little distant
maybe i wish that you knew
about all the things i thought
and i felt for you.

In the forest, there grows a flower
That the night loves with starlit showers.
How it blossoms near the tree beneath the moon!
Its petals are a vibrant indentation
Which, with its beauty, betokens the wilderness.

Rapacious and beguiled
Become the seekers of the bloom.
Ravenous are they for its syrupy nector,
And greedy for its savory and intoxicating effect,
Which is delusive to those who would otherwise be able to reckon.
Its glamour incites a yearning
That, not sated, becomes a burning
Which leaves a hollow place where the logic used to be,
And tangles the chords of one's emotions.

Not everything that is enticing is worth the bill of fare,
Even if it thrives freely throughout the land.
I was bored, so I decided to write. 7/16/2015

you ruined all of
my old favorite songs
by fastening your memory to them
like buttons on a coat

now every song i play
seems to be
part of the same jacket
because every song i play
sounds like you

Deception

In this world run by lies
Learn to be wise;
Some may look nice
But they may be otherwise.
Sounds innocent when they speak
But it may just be all part of the trick;
Dare not to believe
Coz their inner motive is to deceive.

I walk outside, it's forty degrees and the grass is twinkling like your eyes do.
I stretch and sigh and feel tears ***** my eyes, the same tears that I had when I put an end to this.
So, I ran. I ran and I ran.
I ran like I was Jesse Owens and I ran like I was drunk and  I ran like I needed to be drunk.
I stopped and I cried and I sighed and I loved.
I don't love you anymore, Madison, but I did at one point.

I stopped like I stopped running and  stopped caring and stopped drinking to get rid of your smile burned into my eyes.

I met someone new, Madison, I met someone else and I'm happy now.
I'm happy without you, Madison.
I don't need to get drunk and I don't need to run.
