at our first hello
i seen it;
a memory flashing
from an ancient time.
you had held my heart before
wild hair dancing in the wind,
you had watched me burn.
just like the sweet notes
that poured from your fingertips
caressing the keys
had haunted my dreams,
those same fingers would
send my body into chaos.
you were my muse
in every incarnation
and i yours,
destined to never be strangers
our hearts never our own.
- i have loved you in every lifetime.

when our eyes met
i could feel magic in the air,
just like hearing clair de lune
for the first time
you reminded me
of winter snowfall
with a wildness
that made me feel at home
your eyes burning with promise,
my heart burned too.

before you
i didn't know
what fireworks felt like,
you set me ablaze
and it terrified me
now everything
dulls in comparison,
and all i have left
are memories
that tear through my bones.
rk May 2019
underneath the gloomy morning dew
i would sit and dream of you
the bleeding hearts
would bloom and dance,
in remembrance of our wilting romance.
rk May 2019
when you left
a part of me never recovered
no food could sustain me
the way your touch did
so nothing passed my lips,
i was left a ruin
standing but empty
forgotten and left to wither
shrinking smaller
with each sunset
but all people could tell me
was how good i looked.

raw
since i was a child,
i've always loved endings the most;
the smell after a storm passes
and crimson sunsets
after a lazy summer day

but i was never ready
to say goodbye to you.
- we never had a last time.
rk May 2019
loving you
was like trying to love the rain
you made me feel alive
but i couldn't stop you
from slipping through my fingers.
