INNOCENCE
Innocence  displayed
Like a little girl touching dandelions
. . . a butterfly left behind
lingering on the doorsteps of winter . . .

Time , Time , Time
. . . so elusive , so undefined . . .

we have tried (so) true
(only) we fall so short

Love . . .  an instance in time . . .
. . . so passionate (in it's) displacement
We hope for but it lays like the cross
. . . at Jesus's feet . . .

We bury time , we bury love
We bury ourselves in search of both

The little girl without a sense of time
Knowing only basic love . . .
Tenderness of care . . .
and dandelions

Maybe we are the dandelions of time
Petals of love . , . surrounding each
in it's time . . . falling  . . .
one by one . . .
Like kisses given and taken

Lost to time , in love ,
till the doorsteps of winter
close in and freezes the moment

. . . all alone . . .

Love  . . . time . . . dandelions
Little girls . . . and innocence . . .

Run away as fast as you can
Just trying to figure out what in the Hell happened .

Stardust
I was before this dusty moon
I was before this star was born
I traveled for billions of years
Just in time to arrive here

I passed by depression's deepest secrets
I watched as galaxies
Were swallowed whole
Taken by the huge black holes

My carbon atoms from a long dead star
Collected by earth's magnetic pull
Has added me to it's list of grievences
Making me up for just this instance

No one knows just who we are
From where was our lost dead star
Crowded together we shed a tear
For the loves of our lost lightyears
All heavy molecules come to this planet from dead stars that collapsed and exploded sending their heavy matter in all directions into the universe . We are the remnants of those long dead stars and again someday as this sun of ours expands , swallowing Earth and all of this solar system , it will again collapse and explode casting us out again on a new voyage into the unknown .

Talking Owls of Evermoor
Beneath the bends of Barrymore
On the southwest winds she chants some more
The clouds scoot by beneath the moon
Some say she's crazy like the loon
Dressed in black she cackles back
Tossing ashes from a sack
She throws her body down
And moans and sobs into the ground
A dagger she does draw it forth
Holding it up for all its worth
She shrieks and damns her birth
And plunges it deep into her heart . . .
So ends the life of the despised young **** . . .

Now the owls come silently in
Alighting next to still warm skin
All walk around the disposed young beast
Only uttering "Who" to say the least
Then the great owl comes fluttering in
He'd be a giant if he were made of men
He collectively surveys the scene
Takes a few steps before he says a thing
"Take her body to Evermoor"
The great one orders and implores
And all the owls take to wing
Holding the remains of the breathless thing
And take her earthly shell away
And as drops of blood fell from the flow
to the earth a white rose would grow
Leaving a trail
To the land as some will say
To the sacred woods of Evermoor
Yes sacredness in evermore

White breasted women
Make the skies eternal limits
I'm shooting for a paper moon
A thin white line disappears
The Crescent city blooms

She rises from the river
Without the sky's inner inhibitons
She commands all her passions
Painting exhibitions

There is no distance
Between each and every line
She is my perpetual lemming
Flung from from the cliffs of time

Dark haired Creole woman
Body damp with sweat
The gumbo boils in desire
You're my "Day-glo" dash board saint

Kissing white moonlit *******
That dance with each and every ******
C'mon shakedown the stars
Ashes made by burning lust

Cybersexy Poem
She sent a message to me
And I could feel her stroking my keys
She was clicking onto my interest
Next message if you please

If I could get you
between my comma
maybe semicolon you
I'm sure I could make
an exclamation point
wrap my parentheses all around you

I could ravage all your vowels
I could click into propend
And at the proper moment most intence
I would touch the "send"

I Lie
if you ask if I want breakfast
"No" is my reply
When inside my stomach is growling
"It does not bother me"
is the answer I reply

she decided to leave
my head was full of whys
I said ,"I don't need you . I can
on my own get by"
she looked doubtful
"Go on , I got this ,
me myself and I ."

Then came the day that I was silent
I had no more words to say
still I managed to make a statement
as they lowered me into the ground
. . .this is my last and final lie
We live in our corners
in our moments of existance
in our persistence of everyday word

But what would I give
for at this moment
to be dancing all alone with you

To hold you to my chest
as we sway listening
to the charms of the music

Under shooting stars
we make dearest our wishes
Oh ! how silly we are

And for a moment
to bend down to kiss
warm wet lips you have

How can your cheek
be so soft to my touch
I must claim this find as my own

Come dance in my arms
and kiss with your charms
as we simply float away

Chapstick for raped lips
She said she'd pinprick your watershed
Leave alone , it must be bled
A cold and somewhat silent shiver went through you

She tossed your hair with fingers flared
Before she rapes your lips she says she cares
And cautions ,"I am no where near through with you ."

She rips your shirt , rakes your skin
Over and over again
Till blood trickles down upon you

She licks you dry
And praises the sky
saying, "God is jealous of you guy ."

Then she sits upon your lap
Knocking off your tip top hat
And throws a ****** to you

The first and third lines rhyme
She takes away your time
Makes you scream in agony and ecstacy

All of mercy . , .
More on mercy . , .
Tasting pain  . . .coated in pleasure

The memory lingers
Burning like a scorpions stinger
And now your mallingered aren't you

The second and fourth are lines of choice
Developed rhythm for the course
And you grade your decisions running through you

She left you dead , hurt your head
And then she fled
Tossing your heart into the river

Your grateful that you live
but still you go on and grieve
Or at least wished you did

As you are trying to relate
All you do is quake
And start to uttering

"All on mercy . . .
More on mercy . . .
Have mercy  . . .on me ."
Living in the past is draining all my dreams
Living in cheap hotels , you get to hear the screams
Every knock upon the door
Your afraid to open anymore
You don't have any friends
just enemies by the score

Every Tuesday you sell your blood
Every Wednesday you get drunk and fly like a dove
Every thursday you suffer feeling just like swill
And Fridays you take measure of your will

What became of your pride it has a price
You'll do anything to get to feeling nice
Weren't you mama's pride and joy
How could you sink down below this low

The winter's coming you ignore the chill
While your looking in the alleys for your next thrill
A few words and you turn your tricks
You don't like it but it lights your wick

You know everyday , as your search for your next meal
Your not above begging , borrow , even steal .
As you begin to shake and sweat
And cough around a lump inside your neck

You know it will end ugly on a cold dark night
No more room for an inside glance that might
Let you escape from this life of pain and sin
Addicts always lose , that's just the way the story ends

Faithless Love
You said you love me
I had to let it go
You let your tears flow
I said , "I don't know"
Faithless love is like a river
So it flows
When the rains come
It will flood
And wash away
The debris

Sacred Holy Breath
Sacred Holly breath
Flows gentle across my chest

Not a sound , nor air displaced
Not a tear , no second guess

Just peace , in my sacred face
Just released love that was put to test

Having hands holding each other's fears
Holding hands fate-ing future seers

More than Holy we have arrived
Even in this insanity our time abides

Sacred Holy, breathe again
Sacred breath Holy , again and again

Flow gentle in this wind
But only if your love can send

Trees In Love
Trees reach up
The leaves reach out
The roots grow deep

Thus is my love for you

Plant your feet in my soil
Taste the salt of my soul
Place your future willingly

Thus your love for me

Sing the chorus of every leaf
Waving in a tempest tossed
The choir in green goes aloft

Thus our love is forever more

She Shot the Tiger
She shot the tiger . . .
You know the one that wears the yellow eyes

She shot the tiger . . .
The one that's been hiding behind the smirks and lies

(It's okay , he'll be living in a poem
he's writing today . . .
It's not that good but he's hoping
that it will trend anyway)

Hey ! Hey ! Hey ! Ha Hey !

She caught the tiger . . .
Using all the black and white stripes
as his disguise . . .

She caught the tiger . . .
Thinking he could just blend right on in so he could hide

(What a Mistake!)

She shot the tiger . . .
Really blood is just paper thin

She shot the tiger . . .
You know it's not so funny now
when the hammer comes down upon the rim

And you were willing to let it go
on and on . . .No ! No ! No ! Oh No !

She shot the tiger . . .
And now he's bleeding
and the thought just occurred
that he might die !

She shot the tiger . . .
You know the one
that wears the yellow eyes

Entrenched
You sacrificed . . . .and you fell
. . . over dreamed . . . with breath of kerosene

They cut you deep . . . .the pain
was not the worst  . . . as the fear you choked

death was  . . . .last breath taken . . .
and the exhale . . . . . . . .

True Love
True love is a bonfire
wood plus fire makes smoke
Wood is the physical
Fire is the mental
Smoke is the spiritual
You cannot have smoke
before the wood and fire
And when wood or fire
become exhausted
the smoke drifts away
Thanks to rain
There before me stands the cenotaph
of Master Sergent Wilfred Niles
He died of his wounds received
in the battle of Belleau .
He is buried in the soil
near the River Marne , in France
He left behind his mother Maggie
Her only child gone , she's now so bereft
She would die in a few short months
Of a broken heart from grief
Sadler's cemetery is a small abandoned cemetery on Morgan Road in Bessemer , Alabama .
Adam was sitting on a rock
outside the Garden of Eden
Rubbing his sore ribcage he said ,
"What the Hell just happened ?"

Eve came over and
sat down beside him
Putting an arm around his shoulders
And laying her head on him she asked

"Peanut butter and jelly or takeout ?"
Once upon my midnight's madness
Flashed the fires that proved so tragic
There in silence a spark ensued
Started small but it endured

And all of Hell came alive
Burning flesh and skin and hide
Leaving nothing for imagination
Ash and soot for instigation

And in it's greed it swallows all
The high and mighty , the lowest call
Nor even children would be spared
Their awful screams it does not care

And those trapped on upper floors
Jumped the windows by the scores
Onlookers screamed at the scene
As mothers with children came to end

Not till satisfied , it's maw
Did the flames fade and flaw
Allowing firemen to quench it's thirst
It's all over but still there's the worst

Such shock has stunned us all
Why did so many have to fall
Could be any fire

Tumbleweed Tough
You broke the umbilical cord attached to this earth . With the south by southwest winds you rode a baleful streak . Like Poncho your life was left untold . Like a desert prayer that's just a whisper in the cold evening air .
Where they laid your body to rest , no one said . Now it's too late .
The virga falls never to quench the thirsty sands . The sorrow is planted as corn in rows of fertile futility . And dust is harvested , dust and tumbleweeds .
Reasons are the excuses we need to answer all the questions why . There is no reason in the south by southwest wind . And the tumbleweeds bend to the sympathy of an incessant desire .
Sepember 13 , 1945 , the day you were born
And you had survived . An infant baby girl
Arrived unto this world . Oh what promise Sparkled in your eyes . The world war ended
When you drew first breath . Oh what hope lay Before you to test . Through a fall and winter too . Your first Halloween , Thanksgiving , and Christmas too . Remember the stuffed doll so soft And warm ?
How on Valentine's Day you stole our hearts .
Then on St. Patrick's Day you dressed in green . And when the cherry tree blossomed
We took your pictures . Oh , what a glorious day that spring . Then a sudden illness caught us by surprise . You lost the sparkle in your eyes . And Jesus called out your name and left us in our grief . And took you with him to home in Heaven , May 23 , 1946 .
The battle raged on inside my head
My heart was wounded and it bled

Tempestuous tides of full moon rise
Brings down all love's demise

To handle diamonded and golden dreams
I was hell bent to rip apart it's seams

I will away all love to yesterday
And kiss the past's hollow lips that stay

And what never was , will be no more
And what never was , will be no more
It's over , the tempestuous
The relentless consternation
The delegation of frustration
for the last days of summer

Yet I am saddened to release them
To bid them farewell , God Speed
As another season bids treason and flees
I surrender another complete

Fall embraces me like an old friend
But I am looking west to my recent past
Watching the warmth and hot haze
As summer rides away in a convertable
with the sun , laughing

Be away fall with your crisp sunshine
And hollow desires and false promises
Your chilling touch shakes my heart
Let me embrace my summer again

— The End —
