One hug was all it took to send me reeling.
Our hands grazed and I wished you'd grab mine
My thumb touched your palm as we flipped the pages of a book together,
sitting so close - our thighs side by side.
Your eyes light up when you talk about art
and your smile brightened the dark museum.

As we said goodbye, your opened your arms for an embrace,
I ran into your arms and it felt right.
Our hug was long, it was comfortable.
I wish i could stay in your arms.

a simile comparing my love to the explosion of a star as a supernova

have you ever seen a star explode?
do you know what a supernova feels like?
I've never seen a supernova, but I've felt one.  I've fallen in love with the brightest stars and once they disappear, it's only a matter of time before it hits me. First the wind hits me from the outermost layer and I feel it but have no idea what's to come. Then the heat begins to consume me. It's hurting but I've not reached the point of rupture. And once I do my whole body collapses into the heart of a supernova. Watching the star burst into a million pieces all at once as if thinking about your own heart, feeling it do the same.

That's what it felt like loving you, you were a supernova that just completely decimated my world.

Is this a test
To see how much I’ll take?
Are you pushing me to see
What will finally make me break?

Seeing if you can pass
The point of no return.
Tear down my walls
Then let our bridges burn.

Are you scared
Because I got too close?
Worried that you would
Inspire more prose?

Or are you just a self-serving ****
Who had you’re fill?
Now tossing me aside
At your will.

I’m over it, I’m done.
You broke me.
Is this what you wanted?
What you hoped to see?

..... obviously.
They say eyes are windows to the soul
yours are made of stained glass
Impossible to see through
Yet occasionally I catch a glimpse
Of what lies within
I hope someday you get played,
The way you played me.
I hope you give someone your heart,
And they up and flee.

I know I shouldn’t think this way,
I should be happy for the lesson.
I need to swallow my pride,
And let the bitterness lessen.

One day you’ll see,
You made a mistake.
What you did to me,
Will someday be your fate.

In the future, I know I’ll be fine.
As for you...I would wish you the best, but you already had it.

I'm not in love with you. .
It doesn't matter that I wake up every morning  wishing to see your face.

I'm not in love with you. .
It doesn't matter that everthing reminds of you.

I'm not in love with you. .
It doesn't matter that I check my phone every few minutes, wishing to see your name pop up.

I'm not in love with you. .
It doesn't matter that if you don't talk to me a single day,I'll go crazy.

I'm not in love with you. .
It doesn't matter that If you are sad,my heart refuse to feel any joy.

I'm not in love with you. .
It doesn't matter that I'm missing you like I'm missing a part of myself, while writing this poem.

When my friends think about drinking they see parties, and wild nights, and crazy hangovers

And when I tell them I never plan on letting a sip of alcohol touch my lips, they're scandalized

Because they don't understand

How could they ever?

When I think of drinking, I think of my mom passed out underneath our Christmas tree

Or my dad swerving down side streets with the smell of whiskey wafting off of him like smoke from a campfire

I see my childhood that came crashing down in front of my eyes

I see something that they will never understand

Damaged people love you like a crime scene
Before any crime had been committed
They kept their running shoes right next to their souls every night
One eye opened in case something changed whilst they were asleep

Damaged people love in the most broken way
Damaged people love in the most gentle way
Damaged people do not love
Damaged people love too much

Their backs are always too tense, too tight
Made this way from carrying too many broken things
Because we all know broken things are the heaviest
Just look the weight of a broken heart

Damaged people will love that too
Damaged people love broken things
Because they remind them of themselves

Damaged people take broken things
And love them to the end
Trying to find that one broken thing
That will fit their cracks.

Damaged people love so well

They love like this because they have already seen Hell
And they know that every evil demon
Was once an angel before they fell.
