Ich will trinken,
doch hab' ich kein'n Durst.

Ich will essen,
doch hab' ich kein'n Hunger.

Ich will atmen,
doch ich will nicht ausatmen.

Ich will sehen,
doch ich will nicht gucken.

Ich will verstehen,
doch ich will nicht denken.

Ich will lernen,
doch hab' ich keine Neugier.

Ich will mich finden,
doch weiss ich nur draußen zu suchen.

Also ist es
dass Eine, wer drin sucht,
findet Antworten;
findet sich selbst.
I want to drink,
but I am not thirsty.

I want to eat,
but I am not hungry.

I want to breathe,
but I don't want to exhale.

I want to see,
but I don't want to look.

I want to understand,
but I don't want to think.

I want to learn,
but I have no curiosity.

I want to find myself,
but I only know to look outside.

Such is it
that One, who seeks within,
finds One's answers;
find's One's self.

Liebe ist nur ein Gefühl,
doch verspricht sie uns so viel.

Sie steht für Freude und Zusammensein,
denn niemand fühlt sich gern allein.
Ein Gefühl das dir die Lücke füllt,
und dich mit Glücklichkeit umhüllt.

Wenn miteinander schweigen,
für Ewigkeiten reichen,
Und alles rund um dich herum,
wirkt so unnötig und dumm.
Denn das einzige was zählt

Robert N Varty Oct 2011
Wir leben in einem geordneten Chaos,
mit viel Zeit, und doch ohne Zeit,
mit angenehmem Schmerz,
und schmerzhaftem Vergnügen.

Das Leben ist gerecht, aber ungerecht;
eine gesunde Krankheit,
der man nicht entfliehen kann.
ein friedlicher Krieg,
in dem es einen glücklichen Herzschmerz gibt.

Unser Blut ist lebendig,
aber es trägt kein Leben.
Unsere Gehirne denken,
aber ohne Gedanken.

Wir sind am Leben
Und sind doch tot
Weißer Tagesanbruch. Stille.
Zweigen an ihrem Ende,
was die Lerche weiß; mein ganzer Saft

kam in meine Wurzeln
aus der Erde,
in meine Rinde

Still lächelnd schau ich dich an

Hab heute mein Ziel erreicht

du.
Du. Du bist alles. Alles für mich.
Alles ist die Luft die ich atme,
die Sonne die mir ins Gesicht scheint,
der Regen auf meiner Haut,
die Fähigkeit zu leben.
Zu leben als gäbe es kein morgen,
als könne jede Sekunde,
jede Träne,
jedes lächeln,
jeder Sonnenuntergang,
jeder Traum
mein letzter sein.
Mein letzter Atemzug.
keine Wasseroberfläche in Sicht.
Alles dunkel,
Pechschwarz und doch,
doch fühl ich mich leicht,
fast frei, ein Gefühl von Leichtigkeit.
Ich hab mich verloren.
Deine Liebe hat mich konsumiert,
ausgesaugt wie ein Vampir,
bis meine einzige Seele dein war.
Du nahmst mich mir weg.

Du bist nicht alles,
das hab ich jetzt verstanden.
Ich war alles,
alles um zu leben.
Und nun ? Was nun ?
Hab meine Seele dir gegeben,
mit Hoffnung, Hoffnung,
dass du auf sie aufpasst, sie beschützt.
Doch jetzt verstehe ich.
Ich verkaufte meine Seele an den Teufel.
Ich fühl mich gebunden,
du bist im Besitz des meinen.
Geb' mich frei.

Also vergiss nicht,
verliebe dich wieder,
liebe mit all deinem Herz,
jedes Atom soll vor Glück sprießen,
aber vergiss mich nicht.
Leg deine Hände um dein neues Ich.
Liebe mich,
hege und pflege mich,
heiße mich mit offenen Armen willkommen.
Und wenn du mich fast verlierst,
dann schnapp mich,
halte mich fest,
so fest wie du kannst,
und lass mich niemals los,
niemals.
I'm still not over you.

Schau hin

We see so much that isn’t right
also versperr dich nicht und hör hin
Sie sagen soviel, so vieles ohne Sinn! /They say so much, so much without sense!

Was ich will
Sind Taten und kein Wortgefecht
irgendwie hat jeder Recht
haltet doch was ihr versprecht
Weil viele Menschen so verloren sind
Ausgebrannt und Mittellos!
Denn wir stellen uns alle blind
Alle doch wir stellen uns alle blind

Warum sind wir so blind
Hin Schau hin
Vielleicht wachen sie auf und
schaun hin..
Zwischen das Glück zwischen Ruhm
zwischen all' diesen Dingen

Look

When I see, how may people are
I would like to have a new beginning
It´s that you admit
that the kids get lost here
Desperately and without hope
because we all act as if we are blind
we act as if we are blind

When all the others can´t see anything
look there
because we see many things that are not alright
do not avoid and listen carefully
they say so many things without meaning

What I want
is action and no battle of words
somehow everybody is right
keep your promises
because many people are lost
Desperately and without hope
because we all act as if we are blind
we act as if we are blind

When all the others can´t see anything
look there
because we see many things that are not alright
do not avoid and listen carefully
they say so many things without meaning

Why are we so blind
look there
Maybe they wake up and
have a look...
In between luck and glory
in between all those things
don´t you recognize, what´s really important
While looking for the sense - for the sense
I open my eyes now and look there (watch out)

When all the others can´t see anything
look there
because we see many things that are not alright
do not avoid and listen carefully
they say so many things without meaning
This is sung by Muhabet. Something to be said here. So much pain seen in the world so many turn a blind eye and would not wish to fight for a better day. Translation I had to grab offline. I do not speak German.

du bist süchtig, ihrer blicke, deren Anmut, feurig starr

vielleicht tut uns Abstand gut,

gemeinsam all unsere Wunden heilen
hab meine 100 Mauer endlich durchbrochen,

doch in mir drin bereits etwas mich warnt.....
Schade.
Echt schade.

Schade
um dich
für dich
auf dich.

Schaden
bei dir
von dir
in dir.

Du bist schade für mich.

Wie schade.
Echt zu schade.

Jeder wer dich liebt
wird geschadet sein;
ist heute froh
wird morgen leiden.

So ist es gewesen,
also wird es immer sein.
Ich hab es miterleben,
hatte ihr zugehören,
war glücklich genug zu ihr zugehören,
und hab seit damit aufgehört;
und hab seit selbst davon angehört-
Stell dir das vor!

Zu schade.
Echt schade.
Stell dir das vor!

Du hast uns als Spielzeuge angesehen.
Du hast uns als verzichtbar angesehen.
Stell dir das vor!

War selbst glücklich genug dazu zugehören.

Jeder, wer dich liebt
wird geschadet sein
wird im Arsch gebissen
wird vergiftet sein

Jeder, wer dich liebt,
wird Mitleid kriegen,
doch nicht von dir
doch ja dienetwegen.

Tanz.
Tanz zu der Musik.
Tanz zu der Musik deiner Exen.
Tanz zu der Musik du anregtest.

Leider, sie sind nicht Liebelieder.
Nein, sie sind nicht Liebelieder.
Leid, sie sind doch Leidlieder.
Wegen Seelenqual geschrieben.

So ist es gewesen,
so wird es immer sein.
Stell dir das vor!
Wird ein Tag ein Lied sein. :)
Will one day be a song.

If you complain to me about how Google Translate told you it translates, I'm going to tell you to **** right off. This will NOT literally translate; it relies heavily on puns.

I will translate if asked, but it may take a while for me to get it accurately into english for the connotations I want.

ein Opfer ihres Schattens;

Das Mädel ist so scheissverwöhnt - The Girl is so ******* spoiled.
Ich schätze das heißt sie hat Glück. - I guess that means she gets/is lucky.

Not about any real person;
it's about a fictional character of mine.
A Girl in a dream of mine, whose name and face I cannot recall.
I do, however, remember how she made me feel. A result of that feeling is this poem.

Translation available upon request:
I must forewarn; it is rather ******.
You could just copy it into Google Translate, but if you do, you'll understand how it felt for me to grade the homework of the cute little German 1 kids who did the same thing in the other direction.
Plus, Google Translate is oblivious to puns and other innuendo.

wieso es nicht gelang
wieso es gelang

als sie mich suchten zum liebemachen
als sie mich fanden zum liebemachen

wer von ihnen sang
wer von ihnen sang

sie kamen in scharen
mit freunden verwandten
all jene damen
all jene herren

ich weiß nicht wann
ich weiß nicht wo

doch ich weiß wie
ich weiß es wie

mir ist bewusst:
dichter und autoren werden
keine liebe füreinander hegen

(poet's note: my opinion on
the last three verses above has
fundamentally changed since i been
publishing here.)

liebe mich freund
liebe mich freundin

gib mir
schenk mir
suche mich
finde mich

ich habe mich auf der suche nämlich
versucht

kennst du, bruder, den weg?
den zugfahrplan?
die bedeutung der stahlstreben?

ich brauche eine antwort von
den damen
den herren

finde mich
suche mich
verschenke mich
vergib mir denn

ich schrieb über zivilisationen
von witterung und gier

witterung und gier
freunde sind zwischen dem glitzern
auf dem fluss versteckt wie perlen

sie aufzuspüren zwischen dem wittern
zwischen dem wittern
während des witterns

ich weiß nicht ob du weißt wovon
ich rede
ich rede

aber das ist in ordnung freund
aber das ist ok freundin

wir müssen bloß bruder
wir müssen bloß schwester
fragen

sie sitzen am gleis bei den zügen
sie sind immer da
wie der

“ICH-BIN-DA” aus der kinderbibel
meines sohnes

verstehst du das?
begreifst du das?
fühlst du mich?

viele afro-amerikaner fragen
“you feel me?” wenn sie
etwas ausdrücken und teilen wollen

ich liebe
diesen ausdruck
er zeugt von
etwas gutem, das manchen
menschen fehlt

auf der brust trage ich das tattoo
welches du abschriebst
in einer stunde aus

schatten
witterung
gier
ich wollte das
ich wollte dass

du zu mir kamst
zwischen den schatten
unter der gier
über der witterung

in einem augenblick des
“you feel me”

wie unsere häute glänzten
wie unsere augen glitzerten
wie unsere hände zitterten

wie wir…

ach komm!
was sage ich dir, freund
was sage ich dir, freundin

du weißt es doch dir
ist es bewusst denn du schriebst
mein tattoo ab in

ein buch mit perlweißen seiten
ein buch mit onyxschwarzen seiten

du bist perlweiß freund
du bist onyxschwarz freundin

du bist perlweiß freundin
du bist onyxschwarz freund

ich liebe habeshas
ich liebe äthiopien
ich liebe meine frau
ich liebe meinen sohn
ich liebe meine tochter

you feel me?
I don't know if I should translate this poem/song of mine into English. Not sure yet.

Check out "distances" which I wrote and translated:

Today is a good day.

doch wird wenig Schlaf bekommen;
sie lieben einander weit zu viel
die letzte Monaten gelitten zu haben
ohne solchem vollständige Ausgleich.
Lovers like to make Love
-
He wants nothing and no one
save for his lovely Fiancee.
He would like nothing more
than to make love with her.

She wants nothing and no one
save for her missing Fiance.
She has no desire to wait any longer
to be so close to him again.

The Beauty of his Life
has been so far away,
but when their lips collide,
every bad thing will fall away.

When these youthful Lovers
finally are together again,
nothing shall separate them
except their skin and sweat.

They will indeed sleep together,
though little sleep will be had;
they love each other far too much
to have suffered the last Months
without such thorough compensation.

will niemand doch des Schmerzes leiden.
Doch hat der Schock sein positives
zum Denken er anregen mag
der Reflektion sei wahr geholfen
Trotz Schmerz, es ist ein schöner Tag.
Der Mensch sich sehr oft ungewiss,
was soll er tun mit seiner Zeit
Entscheidungen, zu oft befragt
konfrontiert mit Einsamkeit
Das Paradox des Lebens ist
wer sind wir, was soll ich tun?
Doch fällt die Lösung auch so schwer
jeder steckt in eignen Schuh'n
Schau vorwärts, denn nur dort kannst finden
dein Glück wenn du noch suchend bist
Bleib dir stets treu was auch geschehe
des Rätsel's Schlüssel in dir ist
Ich hasse mich um dich zu lieben,
immernoch in so vieler Wegen;
jedoch, wegen Erinnerung,
hab ich keine Wahl doch zu schmecken.

Ich hatte gedacht du warst meine Anima.
Falsch gedacht.
Du hattest gesagt ich war deinen Animus.
Falsch gesagt.

Jetzt hasse ich mich um diese Restliebe;

[This really doesn't translate too well;]

I hate myself for loving you
still in so many ways;
not that it's really so bad,
just that to me you're no longer tasty,
yet, because of retrospection,
I have no choice but to taste.

I had thought you were my Anima.
Falsely thought.
You had said I was your Animus.
Falsely said.

Now I hate myself for this residual Love;

You still reside in thoughts and dreams..

A few are so sweet,
but others are bitter.

We speak more in Dreams than Reality,
also in the Nightmares... as the Nightmares.

I would love to love you no more.
If only it were so easy!
Now I hate myself for this residual Love,
Disease, if I've ever tasted it.

i'm so tired
of being

both mentally and
physically

i'm so tired of having
to
be present
to  be in a place i can't
recognize
to be in  a time i can't
relate to

i suppose my body hurts more than my tolerance

just since when did exist
ing
become so  painful
ly  heavy?

my body falls
even    deeper
my body stinks
even stronger

i swear i
loved                           life
i swear i   lived          life

a life that
is not mine
a life in a      body     i do not
own

Hin und her in meinem Kopf
Verworrene Gefühle überall
Emotionales Chaos trifft es sehr
Warum ist Liebe gar so schwer?

Woran erkennt man Liebe?

Oder schwebt mein Herz in and'ren Welten?

kein anderen Weg.

Sie leuchtet die Träume an,
die immer um ihr kreisen.
Das würd' ich nicht ändern
wenn auch ich könnte.

Ihr Haut kann so nah sein,
doch auch so sehr weit.
Egal wie erreichbar es ist,
lechze ich noch danach.
The (female) Ignitor

Indeed was there nobody quite like her:

Her eyes were hypnotic,
and her hair was as a black waterfall
which sated some sort of fire in me,
while another fire ignited.

To think of her
is to ignite the Soul,
yet I would have it truly
no other way.

She illuminates the dreams
that circle always around her.

Her skin can be so close,
yet also so very far.

I don't care how attainable it is,
I lust yet thereafter.

24/7
tag und nacht
aber es macht mich verrückt
denn jeder erinnerung
entgleitet mir stunde für stunde
minute für minute
werden es weniger details
ich werde fast wahnsinnig
deine augen
dein lächeln
dein lachen
deine worte
alles in mir will sich genau erinneren
doch die erinnerung fließt hinfort
mit dem fluss der zeit
den ich gerne anhalten würde
nur für einen moment.

Ich versuche in Worte zu fassen,
wieso ich ausgerechnet dich
liebe, ich könnte mit deinen Augen
anfangen oder deinem Charakter
oder deinem Lächeln oder deinen
Lippen oder ..., aber es liegt am
Rande des Schwerfallens.
Denn genauso könnte ich versuchen,
zu erklären, wie Wasser schmeckt.
Doch ich war so lange unter Wasser;
bis ich dich getroffen habe.

Ja, ich war lange unter Wasser, so
lange, dass ich taub von der Luft
war, vergessen habe, dass Lungen
von jeglicher Bedeutung sind.

Denn du bist mein Rettungsanker.
