"bridesmaids" poems
My love,my heart,
I will love you till the day the Sun and the moon hug,
And the stars frown with jealousy.
We will be married by Eros the God of Love,
In my dream Castle at the edge of a small cliff.
I will be blindfolded like Eros to show my love for you is blind.
The bridesmaids will be Angels on wings carrying bows and arrows and blowing kisses,
The birds will sing"Here Comes The Bride",
Ares the father of Eros will give you away,
Aphrodite will bless us so we have a sensual love life and many children.
On our wedding day the rivers will climb the mountains,
The fishes will fly in the sky,
The flowers will bloom in the ocean,
The trees will glitter with gold,
The leaves will be studded with emeralds,
The fruits will have diamond seeds.
People will turn into animals and animals will turn to handsome and pretty people.
Love,we will have the wedding of the century.

i.
She's beautiful. She's an angel. She's everything we asked for. I cried for the hopes and dreams of a future that was never mine. I didn't know any better, so I kept crying.
xiv.
*You can't run around like before anymore. Don't get your knees ***** Elbows off the table. Grow up.* I brushed my hands of the dirt and picked myself up, because ladies weren't supposed to pick earthworms out of the grass. I picked up eyeliner instead.
xvi.
I'm trusting you. Don't get into trouble. Don't do anything dumb. There's something satisfying about hearing the roar of an engine at the start of a July evening. With the wind in your hair, freedom at your finger tips, I could have done anything. But I shut off the car and went inside.
xviii.
You're grown up now. You're an adult. You can't afford to make stupid mistakes anymore. I was composed of keg stands, one night stands, roommates, 2am Taco Bell runs, first dates, caffeine, prayers, tears, insecurities, heart to heart talks, "just try it, it's fun, I swear", friends that turn into bridesmaids, broken promises and broken hearts. I can still hear the train's whistle.
xxi.
I told you not to do anything dumb. I told you not to make stupid mistakes. I don't know what to tell you anymore. Here's a standing ovation to being immortal; hats off to the teary drunken nights and the existential crises. These are the days that we'll look back and wish we never wasted and I'll wonder why I let you wipe your muddy shoes on me.

This is where I’d rather be,
amongst the forest and its greener pine trees,
walking through woods we walk
with the bells of bridesmaids ringing in the eaves;
the sky is gray and
cascades in and out of lunchtime consciousness,
it knows our footprints before we know our footsteps
though it cannot know how hard I’m holding your hand,
melding slowly with non-brushed off coastal sand,
neither does it know that you’re the girl with Taylor hair
whom wears blue-lined shirts with white pencil
stitched up skirts.
But Certainty overruled with cool hand
to teach me that reality assembles on foundations
and
thoughts are built on imitation expectations:
but the Taylor haired girl exists.

THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE.
The best day of my life,
the day my son he took a wife.
The bride,
she wore ivory and lace,
there were no elephants involved.
As she brimmed with natural beauty.
She was shining like a holy diamond.
My daughter's they were beautiful creatures,
dressed in pink, as goddesses came,
Goddess bridesmaids.
My son developed a tail for the day,
it was attached to his jacket.
He wore no hat,
for,
it would have spoiled his hair.
The registrar spoke tales of legends
of wedding rings and other things,
My goodness what a day we had.
As she pronounced them man and wife,
God willing, for eternal life.
The bridegroom,
In his speech,
he spoke of family values,
and then we had a laugh,
with tales of swapping shoes with homeless chaps,
in the land of regency.
upon his night of stags and bucks.
The best man,
well, he obviously delved deep into Mark's little black book.
We had fountains full of chocolate,
with strawberries and fudge,
we had roast beef and Yorkshire pud,
Goodness me,
it was so good.
A great big day was had by all,
The music played we had a ball.
Congratulations to you both.

The tradition of marriage,
Bourgeois blackmail and baggage,
Is it all a bargain for men?
Is this what white weddings meant?
All the love that is lost,
And what is the ultimate cost?
A divorce court pizza,
Magistrate smirks like Mona Lisa,
Four corners, one for each,
Dog gets the crust, if it can reach,
Cats get the anchovies,
Were white weddings for phonies?
When is the revolution?
Blancmange brides for pollution,
Bridesmaids-Little Bo Peeps on crack,
Does society cut us some slack?
We joined the bourgeoisie,
All ends in tears and hypocrisy.

For the big occasion
She's lost a pound or two
Last minute jitters playing out
Something borrowed, something blue
Posies for the bridesmaids
Flower in her hair
The thought of all those people
Gets her feeling scared
Roller waiting, protocol demands
Be ten minutes late
Line up for some memories
By the old lych gate
Holding back tears of joy
She glides the aisle in a daze
Nervous smiles exchanged
As the ***** plays
A moment's pause, new shoe shuffle
Children struggle to behave
Baby words da da da
Echo down the nave
No impediments are known
As far as we can see
No one shouts out from behind
Yeah, it should have been me!
In the nearby meadow
The big marquee awaits
Congregation filters back
Through the old lych gate
The groom pays sincerest thanks
To everyone he should
The best man airs embarrassments
As we knew he would
The band strikes up, as they dance
The car is 'modified'
Lipstick on the window
Cans and balloons are tied
It's not a worn out cliche
As the night winds down they realise
They really have just lived through
The best day of their lives

The church pews were decorated with flowers
The aisles lined in petals
The bridesmaids all in blue
The groomsmen all in suites
The attendants sat with happy smiles
As the music started playing
The groom started crying
As his wife-to-be walked down the aisle
Escorted by her father
The bride was the cynosure of all eyes
And so they made
An unbreakable vow
And began their life together

Deep weather
Rough chopped rocks sunk in the sand
Of St.Ives.
Hostile invitations for a childhood party
Where Joshua so loved
then missed his grandad.
Rock and rain pools
December **** in August limpid.
An adolescent's stomping ground of
Skunk and cider
Where first Lucy kissed,
And felt age inside her.
And a Pensioners painting,
Anna remembered a figure
On those black rocks
All those years before,
That could help her across no more.
The town on the hill.
Bewitching, twitching, still,
Windows hammered on to cold homes -
Bridesmaids, Flings, exiles,
Remembered, loved in the married bed
back home.
And the girl that I love so much,
Sits across the beach
Sinked in to my sand like
The alba washing coal on the beach
After all these years.
And the girl I worry about so much.
Sits across the room sinked in sand,
Hammering love in my chest.
Rocks, coal and home.

I'm no good with words
when it comes to describing you
and I kinda assume you know that
which is why I hug you so much
I'd like to take a moment
to apologize if that comes off as creepy and clingy.
To the real point though Amber,
you are my best friend and without you,
jesus ******* christ, I dont even know where I'd be.
we've been through a lot of crazy things
we've spent every single friday together since sophmore year
and I don't ever want that too stop.
I love you.
no, not in that creepy
"let me **** you hard hurrhurrhurr"
I love you kinda way,
but more in the sense of
"dont you ever ******* leave me hurrhurrhurr"
(both contain **** whoa!)
I want us to be the best friends
that are each other's bridesmaids
(you can catch my bouquet. im getting married first <3)
(jay kay i dunno, im trying to be funny
cause I'm no good in serious situations)
we'll fight over stupid things
and then cry and eat lots of food
and cry more at more stupid things
when we're old.
and our kids will be best friends
maybe they'll even call each other cousins
because we'd always be together.
(that would be freaking adorable
dont you even lie.)
(my kids are so calling you Aunty Amber, get over it)
I'm off track, huh?
yeah..sorry.
<3
bottom line.
you is my main *****

The idea of marriage was such a curse,
the bride and groom turned up in a hearse.
Sat on the back seat clutching a bouquet of stunning black roses.
the gorgeous bridesmaids sat scratching their noses.
The bridesmaids sat in the bridal car,
worked out cheaper that way by far.
The groom wore a white suit,
it made him look cool,
The bride dressed in black,
she broke all of the rules.
He stuck his ring upon her finger,
it didn't fit too well,
The poor beautiful bride,
She had piled on buckets of weight,
her finger swelled,
so on this her special day,
she really didn't look great.

They cut the cake and gave a smile
that would last longer than the marriage.
He held her hand whilst she closed her eyes
and thought of tumours and the Orient Express.
The DJ crooned his cat-calls to the
bridesmaids. The grandmothers wept and
bid farewell to their function now lived out.
Children played in the revolving rainbow lights
and chased their shirt-tails in circles,
grazing their knees over the varnished floor.
The bride and groom danced in their sweat
as two-hundred eyes opened their jewellery box
of devotion, causing them to revolve
forever, together, in the same old direction.
For a moment they caught eyes and told each
other without a word, that this was a mistake.

The skies wept tears of honey,
The seas roared with glee,
Clouds burst with excitement,
As you were brought to me.
The trees grew giddy with laughter,
The wide-eyed walls could see,
This miracle was way overdue,
You were finally brought to me.
Tall lamp posts stood like bridesmaids,
As if so proud to be
Witnessing this glorious day
Of you being brought to me.
Past fields full of sunshine,
Fate stood on one knee,
“I have a surprise for you,” it said,
So, you were brought to me.
The rain gods began to play
Their grand love symphony.
Even puddles appeared to be beaming
At how you were brought to me.
It’s like the universe was celebrating
For my Love was brought to me.

Since its inception, Aarong has been determined to bring about effective changes in the lives of artisans and underprivileged rural women, by facilitating and advertising their handicraft. Today, it has become the foundation of independent cooperative groups and family-based artisans. Now, it is known as a contemporary life outlet, among people not only in Bangladesh, but all over the world.
This wedding season, you can adorn yourself with one of Aarong’s festive looks. On November 17, Aarong launched their latest product line – the Wedding Collection.
Aarong has introduced a series of looks and styles to try out this wedding season for brides, the bridal entourage and the wedding attendees. What’s more, they are promoting Jamdani, Muslin and Katan sarees as the choice of outfits to wear for the bride and her close ones.
The line is introducing bridal wear in some uncommon hues, moving away from the routine “red” to peach, pink, purple, blue, green and beige. These unconventional colours can also look grand on the big day, and this is the idea that the creators of Aarong are attempting to establish.
Jamdani saris will be incorporated with remarkable embroidered and printed blouses, helping ladies look regal on their special day. The wedding entourage also has a lot to look forward to. This special compilation includes Katan and Jamdani sarees, paired with embroidered blouses, ideal for any reception soiree. Katan sarees can be worn in bright or bold colours and contrasted with multi-layered pearl jewellery and complementing blouses. Furthermore, the collection also includes Jamdani saris in light shades such as light pink, peach and white, and these can be paired with frilled petticoats or dupattas.
Along with gold, the creators encourage the brides to try out silver jewellery with complementing stones, layered pearl neckpieces and hair ornaments. Hence, the looks are a mix of modern and traditional, and are not only advised for the bride, but also for the close relatives or wedding attendees.
This collection also comprises of saris, appropriate for the bridesmaids, the cousins, the sisters, and even the parents of the to-be-weds. Aarong has prepared similar ‘matching’ attires for the bride and the groom, that are perfect for particular occasions like Holud, Mehendi, Aiburo Bhaat, and so on. For the bridegroom, as well as his family and friends, there is also an exclusive range, that includes Sherwanis and Panjabis. Aarong also provides a variety of gift options such as ceramic dinner set, cushion and bed covers, as well as women’s accessories, such as bags and purses.Read more at:http://www.marieaustralia.com/white-formal-dresses | www.marieaustralia.com/backless-formal-dresses

When I saw you'll standing on the stage.

White veils
Flowing dresses
First loves
Sweet caresses
Lilting music
Lifting thoughts
When their eyes meet
everything else is lost
Scattered petals
Sparkling eyes
Secret smiles
Whispered lines
"To you I vow
to always love
to always stay
To you I vow
to never leave
there will never be
another for me
To you I vow
to give my whole heart
I've been dreaming a dream
every lonely night before this
To wake up every morning
to you smiling at me
And now that dream has come true
you give me more than everything
and everything is you
I love you"
Cheers for a birth
of an official love
a lifelong commitment
a world void of wishes
Everything she had ever dreamed
was already in this moment
The most perfect moment
Nothing could destroy it
Lovely thoughts
Monsters lost
You showed her a light
that now resides
in her dark brown eyes
Flower bouquets
Arrays of bridesmaids
Shining eyes
Real smiles
A wedding day

Once you entered
Diddling’s small church
it cooled you both down
from the summer heat outside
Jane looked about her
she’d been here
many times before
but wanted to you show you
and let you feel
the coolness
and silence
and peacefulness
I came here first
as a child
she said
but more often at St Mary’s
at the other side
of the village
I wouldn’t have thought
any place could be
this quiet
you said
the church smelt
of flowers
and old plaster
some one had placed
a mixture of blooms
in the vase by the altar
she walked forward
her hand brushing
against the tops
of the wooden pews
on either side
one could get married here
she said
if you had few guests
and friends
you said
gazing at her dark hair
pulled tight
in a ponytail
tied with red ribbon
her light green dress
fitted loosely
her sandals held
her bare feet
maybe one wanted
few guests
maybe just a few witnesses
and the clergyman
she said softly
turning to look at you
her dark eyes
captured you
and held you fixed
for a few moments
one day perhaps
she said
doesn’t your father
come here?
you asked
occasionally if the need arises
she said
mostly he’s at
the other church
come and stand
at the front with me
she said
you walked towards her
watching her eyes
and her mouth
the lips slightly open
you stood next to her
at the altar end
the light coming through
the high windows above
she smelt of lavender
you could breathe it in
your head swayed with it
imagine us here
she said
pretend it’s our
wedding day
and we are here
and the pastor
and a couple of people
as witnesses
she held your hand
in hers
her warm flesh
her thumb
on the back
of your hand
stroking slowly
would we sing hymns?
you asked
yes two
she said
closing her eyes
and we’ll pretend
the ***** played
at the start
and finish
she added
she sniffed the air
and plenty of flowers
around us
and bridesmaids?
you said
she thought
in silence
for a few moments
yes two small girls
from the village
she said
her hand got warmer
the dampness
linked you
and who
will give you away?
you said
father of course
she said frowning
she opened her eyes
and looked at you
too many people
have come
she said
it crowds my mind
and dream
then let it just be us
and the parson
and two others
you said
she nodded and smiled
it’s good to pretend
and imagine
she said
maybe one day
it will be real
the sunlight played
and danced
upon the floor
at her feet
her thumb rubbed
deeper in to your skin
and you both walked
down the aisle
in silence again
outside
came sound
of warm summer rain.

The rosy bride didn't pace the hall,
Nor was there a wedding ball.
No bridesmaids, no flower girls,
Nor did I wear my mothers pearls.
For without the groom,
Playeth not the loud bassoon,
Tis the words that played,
While my heart like thunder relayed.
Melancholy, like Caesar, did I feel,
Piercing eyes, put forth the deal,
Closer to a faint, did I reel,
And like Calpurnia, I now kneel.
Hoping you'll read this through,
Hardly ebbing the feelings, I grew.
~°~°~°~
Commit I, what I detest,
& leave you culprit, like in Gone Girl.
Painful thoughts, my mind did protest,
To new ventures, it would whirl.
A letter of love & apology,
on the very last day.
bearing, like Juliet's analogy,
Concealed beneath the fray.
'What ifs' sadly got the better,
But letter, tis the right way!
Or so I thought, while my mind did fetter,
To take action, a letter will I lay...
Sans number or address,
To test you, cuz love finds a way.
But this too, did I redress,
The masts somewhere else will sway.
"Don't be so hard on him,
Leave your number deep within."
"No, no, that'll make him dim,
give not even the pin."
Yet another did say,
"Leave clues, in & out,
work em woe till the gray."
These nasty devils dashed about.
~°~°~°~
At last did I none,
But write this terrific pun.
I know you know what I did
last summer. That has rid,
All that went on for the past 3 years?
Reality had become my fears,
Alas you believe the deed is done,
But you're right, you weren't the one.
If you had the patience,
To read this till the end.
Sans showing indifference,
Gratitude, I do extend.
By now, far away I'll be,
If Shrek could reach, so could you to me,
But there's a reason, it's a fantasy.
So goodbye, cuz I see,
Life has bigger plans for me.

under the skin, there are flames
beneath the flames, our faces
neongreen stars and irises
explosions pamperin' the brain
10 million can't be wrong
illusions become friends
spoken from the edges
rocks and langoliers
in times of hunger,
rhymeless fields grow
elephants and angels
trumpets, bridesmaids
mind the allusions
1-800-datings
in times of satisfaction,
people stop moving

It was something,
a sight to be seen,
the day the bride turned up in black,
the groom turned up in blazing red,
the bridesmaids all wore ****** white,
the ladies all held bouquets,
twisted from a combination,
of Venus fly traps,
and wire with barbs,
A man who looked like Satan,
good looking,
suave,
full up with sophistication,
conducted the unholy service,
smiling,
his black eyes were beaten,
blue,
bloodless,
airless,
the order of service,
was written in blood,
and from it,
he read with a fearsome roar,
He turned,
pronounced them man and wife,
and proceeded to cut,
their throats with a knife,
Dragged to the reception,
still barely living,
a little bloodied,
but breathing,
VNV Nation, spilled the words of Beloved,
and they stepped right into hell,
on their wedding day,
one hell of a day.

Here they all come to get ready.
Excitement is rosying their cheeks.
This is the day they’ve been waiting for
And dreaming and planning for weeks.
The six bridesmaids, all in a flurry
Of hangers and makeup cases,
Begin to get into their dresses
And do last minute things to their faces.
On the other side of the building
In a room that’s a little more male,
All the groomsmen are solving the mystery
Of dressing in white tie and tails.
Now the bride and her parents arrive
And I really can go into action.
I have checked over every last detail
And it all meets to my satisfaction.
I supervise pinning corsages
And give the girls their bouquets.
Then I check on the progress of seating
To make sure there will be no delays.
Everything now is in order
And still five minutes left to the time
I will start them each one down the aisle
To the sound of the ***** and chime.
At last here it is, it’s beginning.
“Start on your left foot...and smile”
The glow that I get as I watch them
Makes all of the effort worthwhile.
And now for the bride and her father.
She’s radiant. He’s very proud.
I open the doors, the ***** swells,
But she doesn’t notice the crowd.
She looks to her groom at the altar
And her smile is only for him.
As he waits for her there with the preacher,
Slightly nervous, but handsome and trim.
As I watch from the back I get misty
Remembering my own wedding day
And I know that my joy is worth more
Than any fee I could ask them to pay

I buff the rear view mirror with my coat sleeve
Crowded steps
Groomsmen
Shivering bridesmaids
A blur of white lace disappears inside
I slide along the back row
Old, familiar, burnished slick
She passes
Me to the aisle
Crisp scent of White Linen
The ***** quiets
I arch and crane
A glimpse
A profile wedged in memory
Then, a kiss to another
Collar up
I sidle away
