When everyone is going forward
I find myself
leaning
backwards to the simpler things

The first time I heard you,
I already knew.
A good beat, nice melody
You were too catchy.

The first time I heard you,
my breath caught in my throat
As you were pronounced
my new favorite song.

The first time I heard you,
you were already stuck in my head
Playing on repeat as I stared out the window,
thinking of you instead of leaving my den.

The first time I heard you,
I tried to change the station
But you were playing on every one.

The first time I heard you,
I was already too deep in love
to let you go.

Look now
at Fingers
cast along plain

As a dying Light
settles into the horizon
Fingers become Flood

Creeping Blackness
consumes landscape
until it’s exposed

Once the eye
and heart
Adjust

Its easy to see

darkness only exists
on the border of Light

Words float in the air
They rearrange themselves into a sentence
form a picture of a train and roll away

Words shaped like balloons
They float away but will be back soon

Words hiding in a tree
Leaves fall to the ground and form sentences for me

Musical notes rearrange themselves on a scale
Fingers jumping from fret to fret
or dancing on the piano keys
These are some of the things I see

Ocean waves roll in and write on the sand
Once it just wrote, "I AM"
Seashells with words lie on the beach
In a sentence they realign
Thank you Lord for this beautiful mind
For millions of years,
The sun has been shining,
It’s endless giving has made it even more beautiful!

For millions of years,
The moon has been radiating light, and it has only become more exquisite With giving!

Music is the sound that fills the gaps in my knowledge with beautiful lullabies to lull me into ignorance.
Sometimes I just want to ignore everything and pretend everything is okay because I’ve learned that ignorance truly is bliss.
