A Ship’s Lament
Anxta Nov 30
The waves are rowdy—
A storm is nigh,
The sky shrieks like an infant
I can’t pacify
My heart a ship
In the middle of this nor’wester
As it heaves and shudders,
Ready to topple over.
It charted no maps,
It measured no tides
And ignored the winds’ whispers
About the storm brewing outside.
Violent precipice
Now whips the portholes,
Beckoning the passengers
To jump overboard.
The ship lurches over!
Reality loses its grip.
Unforgiving is a storm
To an ignorant ship.

Out of Proportion
Anxta Nov 26
Your scent still lingers in my room,
Etched in the air,
Over my head it looms.
My body still tingles
At the memory of your touch
Yet im starting to forget
The face I used to adore so much.
The corner of my bed
where you once sat
Is confined, bound in crime scene tape
in my mind.
The kiss we shared when
The day whispered its final breath
Still haunts my lips
Like a ghastly taste of death.
I loved you so much it’s hard to believe
That we haven’t talked for years since
That day in February
It’s all out of proportion,
It’s all out of proportion.
The cathedral I built in your name
Is crumbling under the weight of my shame
A shrine of passion
Turned into a grave.
I loved you once and I’d love you again
Even if we meet the same bitter end.
It’s all out of proportion,
It’s all out of proportion.

Crimson Tides
Anxta Nov 24
My left hand bleeds crimson onto my paper,
As my right hand writes the words.
The brittle yellowed pages quake as they
Turn into a battlefield of my sensations.
Violent waves bury
the rough, course sand in my heart
Each crash pulling me closer
To the tender abyss.
Broken record in my brain
“This will never end. This will never end”
The waves will keep crashing
The pages will remain yellow
And I’ll be left
Forever caught between the ink and the abyss.
