Force a smile
and stand up straight
first leg's a mile
ready at the gate

Please do not worry
if you cannot relate
we're off in a hurry
it's sort of innate

To leap and bound
and always be late
but always be running
it's sort of our fate

To run and never get there
to die and never know where
or why our fate is unfair
or if you ever did care
I'm exhausted

Darken skies
cloud my mind
Leave me with tearful eyes
We fought through the lies
Her and I
But forgotten I haven't tried
For on my end
Love hasn't died.

The way your eyes looked at me,

like an astronomer lost in the galaxies;

yearning to be with each other,

like a pirate sailing through the seven seas

You have shown
you will not just
tuck me in at night,
shut off my light,
and drive away.
Instead,
you lay me down,
then crawl under
the sheets
next to me.

Poetry has bones of truth
It believes in words
And moves with emotion
It screams with madness
And bleeds with reason
It confronts a denial heart
But can heal a broken soul.

Oh what I would give
To be oblivious and innocent
Oh what I would give
To undo the things I did
Oh what I would give
To go back to being a little kid

When he talks, she hears you.
When he laughs, she pictures you.
When he holds her, she feels you.
When he hugs her, she smells you.
When he kisses her, she wishes it is you.
It's unfair and unjust.
She likes one, but she loves the other.
Seems like the people switched positions,
"The one" and "the friend".
