No desire for stone.
Growing cold
and wearing away over time.
Stationary and strong.
or flaky.
Fresh from festive
the winter is itself again.
And I am cold, wearing away.
I view the mountain in transparency.
"I see plans inside of plans."
You should never run on the ice
and I have never been fond of the thought of freezing to death.
When fertility is in the air again
and we see flowers...
then flying will become us.
We will be as fetching as the sunset and as fierce as the storm.
Nothing will stop us, short of death,
and then,
only a little while.

Not exactly Christmas, just right this moment.

Blue and white lights hang above my loft windows; making spiraling Saturn-like shapes along the ceiling and blankets. The soft breathing of my new son asleep on my chest, quick breaths in and out with a slight whistle on the inhale, my slumbering love on my left drawing in deeply; surely falling into another dream.

The sound of dawn comes through the open window by my bedside, cars cut through December's chill as they chase each other down the freeway.

I haven't slept, and my stomach feels hollow. I've been writing down all the gifts I want to give my mate this year. It's our first Christmas together. See, he returned to me, sometime around this time last year. He followed my frail, tenderly beating heart to my hometown; asked me to travel further inside of our Cosmic Love. To explore each other; take each other apart, piece by piece. Luckily, we put each other back together again, making the other feel 'new'.

I can't believe I'm here still. I can't believe he is too. I can't believe we made a baby. I can't believe my life is what I truly desired. I can't believe the blessings; but I do believe in battles. And I do believe in pain and I believe that by knowing pain; you can set yourself free. But you have to walk through the fire. Not under, around, nor over. Through. I think that's because love is walking through flames always; and you gotta know how to do it alone so you can help your mate through too.

It's all so beautiful.
And, scary
And, alarming
And, tearful
And, consuming
And,
Whatever you want.

Merry Christmas
Not a poem, just free hand.

I am denied a second time
a catching glimpse
a passerby
the endless chantering that flows through the rye
until I catch a glimpse of the other side
through your eyes
we go together

a floundering heat
an upheld beat
that swims in midst of rays
to reflect upon your gleaming eye
holding a gaze, time says lasts for days

yet it already happened
a rewound record instilling its tunes
into you
and oh!
you're already gone
refilling these city blues
guess I wasn't ready for you
oh, this generation of use and abuse
to take as material , to ignore the core
denying the message, but focusing on the tune

I guess I really am you
Ego thoughts, twin flame
The Terry Tree Nov 2014
O'er the ocean
By the sea
On the sand
Or in a tree
Wherever your
Heart beats
Wherever your
Blood red
Heart bleeds
I'll always be
Right next
To thee

You can climb
Every mountain
Any place you want to go
You are my fountain
I will stand beside you
Watch as your ocean
Waves and flows
A beautiful collision
Walking on water
Your blooms unfold
Our flowers grow
We levitate
We gravitate
In two
One another
We are
Stardust
Undercover

Meet me underneath
The sea
You are a mermaid
Diving into the deep
Everything imaginary
Exists with me
I'll be your seahorse
Float around you
I'll be your owl
Soaring down to
Offer you
A ride
You decide
Glide
On my wings
Rest your head
Face the magic
Of Queens
And Kings

Breathing under water
Is an art we have
Perfected
Unaffected
By the world that
Surrounds us
Even if
War has found us
We are blessed
I have you
You have me
A sturdy nest
Protectors
We are the directors
Of world peace

Nothing can stop
The brilliance
We possess
Watch as every
Constellation
Kneels before us
To confess
The joy
That they
Witness

Flying in the sky
I'll be your falcon
You can always
Count on me
Relentlessly

Resilience is my middle name
I know you feel the same
Two twin lights
We fight the storm
Of life
Our love is warm
Sending off our fires
Into the night
A blast of stars
Fireworks
Unite in the
Nursery of
Our heaven

One voice
One song
We shine like the moon
Above the jungle
Every lagoon
Coasting over every island
Eternal friends
Every bayou
Until earth bends
I'll go with you

We are
In the back pocket
Of every lover
Reaching in
They will find
The kisses
That we keep there
Our galaxies
Of affection
We are everywhere
In everything
Let the universe stare
Wherever we are
We are there
A magnetism of
Contagious smiles
A sound that
Resonates for miles

A definite glow
A laser light show
Atomic illumination
In the blink of an eye
The Big Bomb
Of Creation

We are the resolution
God's gift to evolution

Sharing our love
With every child
Every elder
Every homeless
Shelter

Let the universe stare
Wherever we are
We are there
A magnetism of
Contagious smiles
A sound that
Resonates for miles
And miles

A stream pushed two sticks
up the river then twirled around
Finally settled down
on a hill looking over the valley

Up above a bird saw the sticks
decided that they would be
a great fit for her nest

Quickly she went down
Before any predator can
Grabbed them in her mouth
And away she flew

Back at her nest she had
two beautiful twins

The birdies opened their beacon
to receive the catch
The mom chirped and giggled
the sticks were
to fill a hole in the nest

The mom quickly filled the holes
and back into the sky she flew

The twin baby birds saw the sticks and mistakenly thought they were worms

They each grabbed one
with their beac and started to chew
till the juices came out

The sticks were
ripen twigs and tasty
They had been soaking
all night in a syrup
of a flower bed

When the mom came back there was
nothing left from the twigs
except the thorns

The mom laughed
and fed her twins
the tasty worms
she brought back!

In those strawberry fields, it seemed
They all marched too alive and real.
The unknowing, maybe sensing, screamed
“There’s no Jericho here to heal!”

In no small way, I understood,
The child watching that television,
There was more evil to match good,
When a plane made its second collision.

That’s when we realized the hardness of tomorrow
Mistakenly seen enough to tell
This was an attack our hearts had to sorrow
This, we knew, when the towers fell.

Still, we remember those things we felt
And try our best to seize the day
We remember when those watching knelt
Heart broken or fighting? Too close to say.

Beneath the rubble of the truth -
Heroes, lovers, sinners, thieves -
Beneath the terror of our youth -
We are all these things beneath.

That does not mean we are all to blame
Though, every one of us is lost
It doesn’t mean our mistakes got a name
Even still, we must pay our cost.

In our busy lives and concerning fates
There is a truth we must admit
As the prices rise and the moment rates
We must be reminded not to forget

There is a time to step back and see
At the demanding cry to all be free
That all that is asked, is a prayer to be
To Him, as He sorrows - cries…

Remember me.

"Oh the humanity"
The words of tragedy,
Repeated throughout,
American history.

"Oh the humanity"
The terror among us,
The flames that rise,
A burning mess.

"Oh the humanity"
When humanity is,
The biggest problem,
and the deepest pain.

"Oh the humanity"
Don't you know,
That we the people,
Will rise again.
9-11 here already. 13 years. The children born in 2001 are teenagers, who may not even understand just how terrifying it was for families, and how devastating it was for the loved ones. I used the line "Oh the humanity" which was in a newscast when the Hindenburg exploded, because it seemed fitting. This is humanity, and I wish we could stop it.
