Autumn Joy Aug 2017
we both know
that we both get anxious
so I text you
right when you text me

neither of us can sleep
worry is all we do
lack of sleep makes us delirious
but thoughts of you in my mind glow
y'all i'm really in love with my boyfriend we are dorks
Colm Jun 2017
Though storms may come let songs remain
Despite the cites firm embrace

Take photographs to pass the time
As I do wait and part the glass which separates

The scraping skies and flying wings
Both above and below the shallow sea

Let us walk beside the crashing waves
Just you and I, to smell the air and sense the breeze

That we might once again be free
This verse was burred. Deep in a place I used to write in. Amazingly...I wrote this in passing and without much thinking. Describing a few gray images of a storm and it's city. Looking back on it...it's probably one of my most favorite pieces now. (:

A storm is raging on the frothy sea
Mountainous waves toss the vessel all around
The ravaging gales impale with a deafening blow
Raucous sheets of salty spray
soak and pelter             to and fro

A bucket bails the raged sloop
She moans and groans as she’s flung about
A sailor sails ― A sailor endlessly bails
Engulfed alone in the perfect storm

Two oars are manned on the stormy seas
The halyard torn and ripped from mast
To row and bail is an impossible feat
It’s hard to tell when you've sprung a fateful leak

The captain mans the forlorn skiff
There'll be No white flag of surrender flown ;
" I will go down with my ship! "
A furious soul             laments life’s toil
As violent waves crash the gunnels hold

He screamed out loud,
         " My time has come ! "
" My ship is sinking!!! "
" Her broken pieces ne'er to be found ..."

The rampart boat, well fortified yet built to fail
Plummets from hills of oceans pitifully tall

Cracks are leaking where the lurid light gets in
But so does the briny water, will drowning soon begin?
Lost hope floats the helpless, fearless one man crew
His soul now guides the ether voyage ―

A vessel drifts lifeless on the empty calming sea
Nothing but it can be seen for miles of skies
The free board is deep the salty water high
Two apathetic oars lay silent, is a lost soul inside?

One of my oldest published poems
with minor edit

At times we feel trapped and stuck in a moment we cannot get out of …The haunting feeling of drowning in lost hope; the human struggle to survive, to fight back difficult times, the uncontrollable gravity of feeling terminally alone, yet knowing these steps must be walked alone

... Where is the strength to be strong?
Donna Bella Mar 2017
I fell like the rain on a stormy day
I dried back up when the sun shined again
Just to have a beautiful magnolia bloom once again
Nora Jan 2017
Bittersweet rain falls
From stormy eyes
Like sour candies
On your tongue

The stream is steady,
Warm, serene
Leaving dark footprints
On flushed cheeks

Salty lips faintly
Muster a sound
But it’s swallowed --
Strangled shout
Succumbing to the shadows
Dark Delusion Jan 2017
Destruction slayed all emotions.
Cold and stormy in my head.
A sudden shock to my heart.
And my eyes turned red.
