Not every spark ignites a fire
sometimes that fire is put out by tears
Ditte Jakobsen Apr 2019

about the things that you love
and watch the sparks fly
as your eyes lighten up

the first time
our lips met
didn't feel foreign,
it was as if
you were my home
country
and I had only just
entered your land,
then took a taste of the berry tree
which my greatest grandma had grew,
in either ways;
she would be

From sparks
to flames
and flares
Then to a blazing fire

You tame it
lest it becomes an inferno
and consumes everything

The stars were the only sparks of the fire which devoured my soul

If those sparks went out, there would be nothing left in the sky but dead stars and my dead eyes
Hence nothing remains but my regrets

Rust-hued sparks rise
from love fueled pain forge
into cloudless night,
merging with distant stars.

And my heart’s dreams follow
as white silky smoke.
Climbing ever higher
in search for eternal happiness.
Have dreams and embrace them. Even if they seem out of reach.
