silly girl,
little does she know,
they believe the smile,
not dare to look in the eyes,
the eyes hiding the lies,
little do they know,
she's been crying all night,
silly girl,
~little does she know~

Silly me trying to live forever,
Silly me thinking we could be together,
Silly me for thinking i was in love,
Silly me thinking we had the right stuff,
Silly me for believing in you,
Silly me thinking life was made for two,
Silly me thinking I had a heart,
Silly me thinking a relationship could start.
LOVE IS DEATH DEATH IS LOVE

There once was a boy named Steve,
Who couldn't pull up his sleeve,
So he gave it a tug,
And tried a hug,
But yet could not pull up his sleeve.
Poor Steve!
My first poem. A weak but funny one

This is a letter from my future self
To the past and present Me’s
When you’re stuck in the spaces in between,
May this letter set you free.

It’s hard to think of what to say
To my past and present self.
What are the things you need to hear
That would be of use or help.

Surely, whatever I end up choosing
Will be hard upon your ears.
I must address some insecurities
And attack your greatest fears.

Don’t be afraid to take the fast lane,
Though I know you like moving slow,
You see, sometimes, moving quickly
Is the fastest way in which to grow.

I know you like to test the waters
Before gradually wading in,
But life is short, so take the leap
Don’t be so afraid to swim.

Remember life is always worth living
For there are people who truly care.
And when you’re not in that place
Let those who still are know you’re there.

Regardless of your wealth or status
We are each and everyone the same;
Deserving of grace, respect, and kindness
Whether or not you know their name.

Life is an adventure full of memories,
Like scars— just stories waiting to be told.
Just because you open up to someone
Doesn’t mean you’re shouting it to the world.

So take a chance once in awhile,
Go over, talk to her, smile.
Don’t overthink, ask what if, or why.
You’ll never find out unless you try.

Laugh when life gets crazy,
Love her patiently,
Live life in the moment,
Sincerely, “Future Me”.

For some reason, today I got to thinking (as some are wont to do) about what I, in the future, would write to my past self (current present) if I could. You know, the usual stuff people think about. Anyway this is what I came up with.

Art
it's effects can be all-encompassing

None of us are getting out of this world alive,
so please, stop treating yourself as an afterthought.
Eat delicious food.  Walk in the sunshine.
Jump in the ocean.  Say the truth that you're carrying
in your heart like a hidden treasure.
Be silly.  Be kind.  Be weird.
There's no time for anything else.

there's plenty of fish
but this one right here, is mine
don't f*ck with my fish
....I'm not the sharing type

like a good wood stove
if you can keep the fire lit
you'll always be warm
...but let it get out of hand, and it might burn your house to the ground

Happy New Year?
Well for now, I can’t say.
I have my own hopes
but there could be delay.
I’ve ordered World Peace
there could be a speed bump.
I’ve also requested the demise of Trump.
And the continued success of all bee colonies
and protection from racists and their bigotries.
And more empathy amongst all of mankind
And for those who are seeking? I hope they shall find!
At the end of the year I shall rinse and repeat and hope to find some on my wishlist complete.
