I should have sent my love letters to Cupid
And ask Destiny for the right time.
Yet stubborn as I am, I remain still…

Some loves are too shallow for me to dive into
So, I remain in the shoreline,
always testing the waters…
never got to dive deep....
The wave of the Oceans
as they crash into the rocks
With a powerful driven force
near the Ocean sea docks

The waves driving force that is
Driven by strong winds and
The Water waves rolling in and
out to sea again

As you sit or even stand
along the shoreline to explore,
discovering seaweed, starfish and seashells, along the wet sandy shores

On the beach you see a crab
as it crawls along the sand,
as you begin to enjoy the
shoreline while holding
sand in your hands

The Clashing tides of the high seas
are Traveling fast at top speed
as to a strong tsunami
Slowly rising up to your knees

A wonderful feeling to go
and explore the Oceans so deep
Along the shoreline to explore
The Oceans deepest peak

(Inspired by 'Indigo Night' by Thomas W Case)

A thousand thousand stars pierce the indigo night,
but no moon mars the canvas, or lightens velvet strokes.

Half-hearted waves slap at shoreline rocks, like tepid applause.
If the sky is darkest blue, the ocean is a still-darker green.

The harbor suggests a freedom, outside the breakwater
as if the choppy ocean were a highway to the sky.

Tomorrow's deadlines fade, in the face of infinities.
The harbor is quiet, like a restless animal that's sleeping.

No skiffs tack for the harbor's mouth, no fishermen juggle lines.
The sea is a jagged, broken and twinkling mirror for the stars.

A thousand thousand dreams will be launched, this deep indigo tonight,
some will store, in memory's hold, others will be lost, like shipwrecks.

No line divides where sky and water fold, where endless deeps meet.
Time's arrow seems stilled by the cold and the gentle darkness.

But dawn will come, soon enough, and with that blush, cares ignite,
duties' call, and the stars will hide their light in greater glares.

For now, we'll walk the shore-line, our small voices like seagull calls,
enjoying celestial light, and the indigo night, out beyond all earthly cares.

out on the mudflats
washed up by an angry sea
a shell remains
parched by the sun
a little bright paint
to remind whoever bothers to look
of the colour they once had
hauntingly beautiful shapes at dusk
ghosts with shrouded faces

Silt
there to block the estuary
a danger to shipping
of no use to anyone
but foolish romantics who see
the glory days gone by
a little sense of history, reverence
to the way things used to be

when they're gone
another age will discard the waste
of lonely  forgotten souls on the shoreline

My heart sinks slowly
  In sand and saltwater

Not washed away
  But picked at slowly
    By this watery grave

And with every crashing moment hence
I feel the immense pull of the earth

Reaching down I feel
  The fall of memories
    Rushing over me in waves

his oceans are calling me home,
the green grasses no longer it for me

a stranger in a land unknown,
the blue waters are where i was meant to be
does it make sense that he is both the land and the sea?

(wanted to post this one for dayss, so glad hp is back online! i missed reading everyones poems:)

Thirsty waters,
lapping at the shoreline.
on those salty beaches,
of my sweet, sweet, Caroline.
The melting horizon,
pools in the bay.
From the grey clouds of storm,
sending down their rain.
Wet and heavy clothes,
stick against our skin.
But feet, light and merry,
running in the sand.
