we look at TV screens that show
thousands of persecuted and bombed-out families
on the run for safety and sheer survival

so sorry

borders are shuttered now
the boat is full   no more come in
we have to think of ourselves

so sorry

we sincerely regret that you
are suffering from cold and rain and snow
in your rickety makeshift camps

so sorry

we are sure there’s someone
to take care of all that mess

it’s just not us

so sorry

Something is wrapped tightly all around me
Though I am allowed to move freely
I can see the stars
Feel the wind at my face
And even smile at a stranger
But my footprints are washed by my chains
Though the key  is on the table
It fears no use or loss
For I willingly live within the confines of choice

Where a day must end with accomplishment
A night begins with longing
And what I may one day find of my myself
Is a trail that only I know to find
But will never walk again
And peace that arrived at the same time
That the trail did end

I don't think
I've ever live
for love.

Responsibility is quite heavy...
....love
of what
i wanted
&
needed...
GM Feb 2016
If love is the measure of a man, then what is a man without love?
A man without love is a man without pain
A man without grief
A man without love is a man without responsibility
A man without humility
A man without love can do as he wishes, for he has not a care in the world.
If love is the measure of a man, I'd rather be unmeasurable.

You take
everything,
everything that was mine,
everything that you pretended was yours,
everything except responsibility for yourself.
For the girl who thinks her vernacular is superior to my wit.
the real question is not
    whether god exists
but whether you believe in one
no matter which denomination

do you believe
    that there is someone
    who commands your fate
    created everything
makes earth move and the universe
protects the good and punishes the bad
and will reward you after death
according to the life you led
    with everlasting bliss
         or fiery hell eternal

or do you rather think
that it is our responsibility alone
    to live in peace
         not war
    protect all life
        not only our own
    and not pretend
        that hunger  sickness
lack of water and clean air
       are simply  natural

if you are a believer
     remember all religions
     respect all forms of life

if you are prone to think it's humans' obligation
     remember those who do believe
may also strive  to do their best

the common goal of all
should be the recognition
     that whatsoever god
     may have created us
     would not have wished
     for our abolition

Peace and quite.
Yeah right lets be honest
Kids are shooting
Parents don't care
Baby in a box on the street free to keep.
This generation has no decency
Show some respect, show some love
For the world you were born in
Throwing it all away
Just like your responsibility.
Stop moping around school like your the only one with issues at home
Grow up and realize, life ***** us all.
And you'll get over it once you accept it, and move on.
"My daughter,
when you grow up (enough)
to be able to brandish self-sovereignty
tempered by self-discipline
I only hope that if and when you may choose
to try whatever drugs may appeal to you
you are least fortunate enough
to have access to clean ones
and a safe enough and comfortable enough environment
in which to study your interrelationship with them,
intellectually, physiologically, psychologically, spiritually, and socially,
but not necessarily in that order.

I won't tell you what to do,
but my advice is this:

Don't eat yellow snow:
don't snort yellow coke.

If you're gonna poison yourself,
poison yourself with the good ****.

If you want to see whats up with something,
be certain your sample size is representative.
That's just good Science.
No one likes a false statistic
except those in power
who wish to remain in power
so maintain thy power
to wield thy freedom of choice
armed with an arsenal of personal experiences
sailing with an armada of accurate information
upon the high seas of this uncertain but certainly beautiful Life,
but be prepared to accept the consequences.

That's just responsibility.

That alone oughtta put you well ahead of the curve."
Fictitious, but that doesn't warrant dismissal, I think.

We convened a conclave
Where the famiglia
Was casting sideways looks,
Keeping secrets from survivors.
Papa had passed,
His mantle drapping the remains.
And a day looms for its passing
To an unelected recipient
From the unresponsive benefactor.
Dirges were played.
Outside I lit a cigarette
And the cloud of smoke rose skyward.
The ballots have been counted.
