If I were a soldier
All ****** and bribed
I would go down by the trenches
On a tank time joy ride
If I were a soldier
Death would be my game
For all the wrong reasons
They will remember my name
If I were a soldier
I'd say my farewells
Down the barrel of a ******
And straight down to hell
If I were a soldier
Wounded by pride
For a country not worth this
Lest we forget,
I have died

His eyes are alive with desire
Embers of brown smouldering coal
A hunger for the flames of the pyre
Upon which funerals are borne

His smile is a grimace
A shallow grunt of pain
His heart the only witness
To the bile that runs in his veins

His words are twisted demons
Who speak no civilized tongue
His oath the words of heathens
Who hail disasters yet to come

Their foreign gods are calling
Silent cries demanding blood
Echoes of the winter morning
Sounds of a spring time flood
This poem symbolizes the way our enemies are demonized in war and made to be inhuman beasts. It is easier to **** a monster then a man. This piece simply displays how propaganda can twist our vision of another's humanity.

Listen to the sounds:
Drums mark time on march to war.
Manufactured fears.

Read or watch the news
We still only have two eyes
To see what THEY want.
Honesty today
equates
with the sale of reality
legally and expediently
as a placebo
for propaganda.

It is to the free-minded yet civil, the industrious yet unambitious, the honest yet kind, the unencumbered yet giving, the private yet civic, the humble yet wise, the quiet yet firm, the suffering yet dignified, the individual yet understanding and the lawful yet forgiving people that I raise my hand in honor and not to those who would hector us with exhortations from the offices of power or the pulpits of vanity.
RW Dennen Dec 2014
Give me your mind and talk to me
let us talk my talk
let us walk my walk

Beware because I am
not a gold miner or even a coal miner
but a mind miner, extracting your self-product
lying deep within your deep and dark hidden caverns
I will dig out your most hidden psyche
I will dig out your most deep inner world by my grinding words
Your inner product will be on a talking conveyer belt,
washed polished and dried to perfection
I will then reinvent your freshly dug up social product
and inspect for flaws
If all passes my inspection, that reflects myself,
the stamp will declare, approved by the Good Mind Keepers of "Herd Mentality".
