I'm surprised we're having a picnic on the east wing!
Our company almost never gives us anything!
Underpaid with no benefits makes this picnic even better
To think I was going to give in my resignation letter

With so many hamburgers, hot dogs, and more,
It's a fast food restaurant galore!
A table packed full with yummies.
Today, a lot of beef will be in tummies.

People reaching for their plates
The caterers come out of their waits
One by one, they serve each voracious goer
For a pay that probably couldn't get any lower

Janice comes, with her broken polish and nails
And a scream a joy echos out like whales
She's so drunk, oh my god haha she's so wired
It's the unpaid overtime or another threat of being fired

Poor thing... we finish our girl talk
and problems on my mind, I begin to walk
Feeling my appetite begin to poke me,
I bite into my hamburger with resounding glee

Nipping the bread, it's fluff presses against my lips
I close my eyes, as my senses go in dips
The precious aroma of divine baked bread
As my tongue and bun are set to wed.

Each bud met with delicious waters of steak
The ketchup creating a dreamy, saucy lake
Scrumptious, delicious
Incredible, nutritious...?

It doesn't matter, I've met my goal
And the taste, goodness it makes my mind roll
Forgetting everything while I finish the rest
Golly, this food is the best

When I slumber I dream in color of a meadow by a brook
a sweet bird on a branch of a tree so tall it kisses the sun
in a sky of vivid blues, red, yellow and a hint of orange
listening to the birds sing about the flowers in bloom
attracting butterfly and nectar seeking humming birds
who fly near the place where I prepared a picnic for two.

Drift off to sleep my love
meet me in our meadow of dreams
A blanket spread
classic colors of checker board squares
with a picnic basket of wicker
two wine glasses for the laughter
of sparkling bubbles, we share.

Slowly falling
you glide on angels wings
in the distant horizon
next to the mountain of our desires
walking now
ever closer
stopping to sniff the aroma
of flowers grown by our mother nature
deeply in love with life
stepping on the moss of a fields shadow
your memory imprints a visit.

Our hands reach
and touch, fingers intertwined
feeling the warmth of together
as our eyes met with a look of content
our bodies drawing closer
we feel the purpose of meeting
from across the distant miles
a connection.

A summer rain softly falling
we dance
spinning
hands holding
until we fall together on the checkered blanket
laying together we make pictures from clouds
and speak of love everlasting
peanut-butter and jelly
a favorite.

Making plans for the coming days
when the Pacific ocean turns into a field
of green clover
and on the day
we picnic
and make love under the stars
in the meadow where we first met...
Looking into the mirror... as the story unfolds...
"Looking Into The Mirror... As The Story Unfolds.." is about true love and the journey of two people deeply in love. The title of my novel, a trilogy - "The Book of Dreams" ; "The Book of Shadows" "The Book of Awakening"
Your idea was to dislike cats.
I love both: You and the Cat.
And in an instant you knew I'm smart!

Winter and Spring have long since passed,
cold wind, rain and frost belong in the past,
darkness thankfully no longer descends as fast,
long hot summer days arrive at long last!
Colourful flowers and plants, trees and shrubs
burst forth from hanging baskets, gardens and tubs
outside homes and shops, hotels and pubs;
brightening roadsides, roundabouts, parks and golf clubs.
Exams are over and school is finally done,
children everywhere mad to get out in the sun,
playing outside all day, having such great fun,
warm summer days being enjoyed by almost everyone.
People everywhere outside busy doing something;
weeding, mowing, watering, general gardening;
cleaning cars, washing windows, mending or painting,
or simply sitting out with the neighbours, gossiping!
Time for sunglasses, sun cream, getting a tan,
Wimbeldon, music festivals, holidays to plan,
ice lollies, ninety nines from the ice cream van,
water shortages of course and the annual hose pipe ban!
Time for day trips, sports, to picnic or sunbathe,
for the park or the beach, to swim or just wade,
to get burnt to a crisp or just relax in the shade,
for beer gardens, barbeques as the sun starts to fade!
People making the most of each sunny summer day,
determined to enjoy the sun, lap up every last ray,
each enjoying the summer in their own particular way,
“Long may it last”, people around the country pray!
For not getting a summer seems to be our worst fear,
but thankfully the summer seems to be finally here.
All around the country there is a party atmosphere
such a shame it cannot be like this all through the year!

Come,
have a seat here
Join my picnic
by the hills of despair
Watch the gentle waves of tragedy
slowly
silently
roll onto the sea of tranquility

Would you like a cup of sadness?
you can add a spoonful of hope
that might carry all that bitterness
down the slippery *****

Or would you rather a sip of ignorance
this time hope
you should cheat
Pass along the seasoning of confidence
which is just as saccharine sweet

May I offer you a plate of loneliness?
But make sure to drown that in time
’cause we all know that time can heal
everything, oh yes how divine!

If you find loneliness becoming tasteless
Here, try some soft-baked sarcasm
infused with aged enthusiasm
with a heavy dose of doubt
If the flavour isn’t enough
than try a new diversion
maybe a pinch of hostility
or a light dressing of suspicion?
Whichever you prefer
you better make your decision

When you really need a change
try some passive aggressive conceit
then add fate into the mix
Of course!
We know how it tends to dismiss
the pungent smell of amusement
the fragrant taste of love
Oh how
it reminds you of innocence
or even the lack thereof

Do you really have to go?
Please do join me again
this solitary life gets tedious So
promise me you’ll come visit when
you need someone to wake you
from the beautiful lies they spin
when they almost seem to convince you
that's when you’ll come again
I insist.
Holding hands
Kissing in public
Giving **** looks
Holding each other close
Walking arm in arm
Naked in the woods

An ode to a valley of greatness,
Where shaded from ignorance the brilliant dwell
Building steam so they might shine light into the darkness.
Covering nothing an unleashed torrent of heart current,
Flows into the hearts of those not calloused,
By shades of greed and torment.

Whispering to me, the trees let go their secrets.
Only those willing to hear them privileged in their presence.
The power of the Sun shared by us both in abundance.
No reason to hoard a wealth that flows in infinite volumes.

Those who lead you to believe that wealth is limited,
Are those who are most limited in their wealth;
Because amidst their collection of physical accessories,
Dwells a soul bankrupt by the chains of time.

Only those who breathe in the divine in unison,
With all those in their presence, accounted for and otherwise,
Are truly wealthy.
They share the wealth of infinite rays with no hesitation,
Though them do infinite rays pass forward indefinitely.

Go forth as an infinite being as you truly are.
Fear nothing as you share the luminosity that you were given.
It is your duty to give it to the others.
Until the Sun sets to rest, you are its champion.
Champion of the Sun.
written in paradise.

Woke on a white blanket today.
Looking at the blue sky above me.

Turning I see;

A strange looking farmhouse at the bottom of a hill,
A fence of split logs,
Mountains were rising up, like giants through a misty morning.

Two glasses of red grapes sitting on the blanket,

No one else around...

Plates made of paper filled with cherry pie,

No one else around...

Suddenly, from behind I hear!
A quiet voice was singing words I could not understand.

I turn to look,

No one else is there...

The beach lies under the golden sun
surf and sand and food and fun
getting burnt and feeling fine
why not share some sparkling wine
a picnic prepared the night before
and missing the glass as you pour
the day has past its time to go
but we do it again if the wind don't blow
