I don’t know what will heal the world
see the colours of hope unfurled
maybe we should ban all flags
the universal rags
of sovereignty
those emblems of pride
which divide
what part belongs to you or to me
where even the sea is chopped into bits
so it fits very neatly and oh so completely
into tiny bites
with regards to fishing rights
that say where we can sail
you can go to jail
or face a huge fine
for dangling your line
into someone elses pond
we are way too fond of the
walls that were provided
by any empire
who decided
it should all subdivided
so it could take the best
and fling out the rest
like meat to a dog
while they hogged the mineral wealth
that they took by stealth
how proudly they planted their pennant
became the sitting tenant and saw it wave
over the graves of the people they had enslaved
pretend separation of each earthly nation
what is it for?
to stop us going to war?
we can be entirely sure
that wouldn’t work
because it’s happened before
maybe we need a long cold drink
and a post-pandemic think
about what we could do
to improve our sprawling human zoo
and bridge a divide that has become way too wide
it won’t work, it’s political suicide
but consider the millions who have died
did the virus follow orders
or stop at any borders
no, it jumped all the silly dotted lines
that we use to define what is yours from what is mine
and after all if not under one God, we are under one sky
so we could at least give it a try!

Didn't i do right by pretending 'alright'?
Didn't i hold a sea of tears?
Shouldn't you appreciate this art of mine?
Haven't I averted a stormy flood?

Am not i hiding the wounds grave?
Don't i smile amid extreme pain?
Haven't i grown very skillful?
shouldn't you really applause for me?

Isn't it better to bear all alone?
Shouldn't i request them not to bother?
Am not i averting the mockery of my heart?
Don't i recognize the fake sympathies?

Don't my blames hit me straight back?
Didn't i let people spoil it all?
Isn't it maddening to regret all the time?
Haven't i waited for the doubts to grow?
Mystery in Indian occupied kashmir..

From yesterday to tomorrow and today we find our way
When my eyes can not see I will listen to her heart
When my soul begins to feel what hers cannot express
when my tongue is tied and can not speak
to what sometimes my arms might not be able to reach
when a loving embrace can not cut quite as deep
when the fire burns yet yet the path is steep
when direction has become a mystery and has no place
and time has forgotten everything but this place
when destiny calls but has been delayed
and life has left you feeling tricked or betrayed
when sadness has blinded you in distress
and everything seems as if it's a mess
when the troubles of the world have fallen upon your path
and wont let up till it leaves an aftermath
when our words are clouded and didnt quite come out right
and paradise is missing and were alone somewhere in this night
when fear has hidden what truth is already made known
and 2 souls carry what cannot be shown
It is then I will be reminded love withstands throughout any storm
because with a little rain everything is made clean taking its previous form
when passion rises and love withstands
sadness can never withhold from love's demands
and the beauty of for better or worse
isnt what some say is a blessing or a curse
the truth is that no matter what today might send
tomorrow were still lovers and together in the end
sometimes life might bring you flowers or maybe a memory of some forgotten discourse
but cast aside your fear and remember love is the strongest and most powerful awesome force
if today was tomorrow or even tomorrow was today
I might even know what it is I have to say
but since sometimes our words might not come until tomorrow and not today
Ill just love you in silence kneel down and pray
because the Lord already knows what we want to really say
'I love you baby and its all going to be OK"

Lets just chalk it up to one of those days.

Is the planet a nation?

You tell me

How many raindrops get lost in a sea

A nation is anything you want it to be!
John H Dillinger Nov 2019
I don't have a country,
they have me,
               we're stuck.

At least my flag waving hand
               is free,
what luck.

The enemies of my enemies are my friends
For peace is more efficient than hostilities
I share secrets with friends but secrets they remained
I speak only truths for truth is verifiable
Fools fight my wars for me, my hands unbloodied
Unseen, unknown, I am unattributable
But only as Friend to any and all
he's in the news
practically every day
for the things he'll
unthinkingly say

often he's seen signing
a managerial piece of paper
which is very important
in its draper

the heads of other
nations
aren't fond of his
aggravations

the word great tumbles
out of his gob
within every sentence
that word he'll lob

when he finally
moves off the stage
will it be filled by
another of his gauge

As a Seed begets a forest,
so a Lie begets Nations.
Truth blinds, Freedom enslaves,
Wisdom, foolishness, and Money, real.
The poor in spirit is blessed
But the world calls it depression.
