sparks of gray in your
eyes

tapestries loom over
the candelabra

as a grim smile
drifts onto your welcoming
face

your hands shake as
you
rub them together
releasing deadly energy

I drown in my mind
and dont mind
a thing

as the would turns upside down
and you cackle

I have never cared

but you got me this time

my hair sways below me
suspended in the air

my eyelids succumb to
Gravity

I watch everything

you strip me of
my limbs

I scream
beg
plead

fire on my mind
fire on my legs

gold and jewels
shoved down my throat

go out with a bang
I said

it's a sunny day.
blood drops off my knees.
gravel stuck in me.

I wear no clothes.
I wear embarrassment.
astonishment.
knuckles are red,
wet.

no one around.

they did what they came to do.
and they left.
like you will too.

I drag myself home.
to no one.
to nothing.
why bother cleaning myself up.

I'm tired.

tiny fairies
wings beating like
my heart

quick
and
soft

tiny fairies
twirling
in
the light wind

leaving butterfly kisses
around your neck

tiny fairies
pouring sunshine
onto
the rocks

watching over
the lost
and forgotten

tiny fairies
planting seeds of
joy
and
sprouts of
happiness

July rain
in a year of drought
as I plant peas
in the new garden
I have spent months
building in
expectation.

The sky has been quiet
and I have been thinking
peas
and maybe the zucchini
will bring change
and blessing.

I dreamed last night
of my parents’ new home–
the one they inhabited
when they left me
behind on earth.

This new soil is
yielding such discovery.
What else, I wonder,
should be planted?

Splits ends and a raging wildfire
Connected by a general lack of control (and dryness)
Are carrying on with such a rage untethered
While they sprout and exist, they give me a false sense of
Dominance
Every bit of hair and skin on my body gets to be there on my word
And as I play God I put all my effort
To pluck out the ones that deserve to suffer
Exposed spots and thinning hair, dilapidated as scorched earth
I know now how God feels his work is never done
In his image, I destroy to create

I weigh a little over a hundred pounds
and some say, I do not weigh enough
my steps do not sink deep enough
“You weigh nothing”
“I could just carry you around”
Someone could easily lift me
When I’m carried,
Suddenly, weights combine and their footprints become more
defined
But it’s not my steps, I do not leave anything behind
And I think
Not enough of me exists
To make an impression

Gas tank never completely full
Dishes unwashed
Time and its manifestations
Is the affliction that plagues any millennial
She is present, and waiting
Ready to peel her skin at a moments notice
Rhythmic finger tapping on a diner table
Sipping iced tea and always looking out the window
Neither down nor forward, just up
While uncooked ham
In the form of a human sat opposite her
“I wish others cared” she sighed apathetically
“I wish other scared?” he inquired. He knew that he heard wrong.
“No, I can make that happen already.”
A pause swallowed them both
“I’m leaving”
“Why?”
She answered, her countenance
An opened Venus fly trap
“I’m hungry”

bluebells

bluebells tower
over
the ants

drip tiny
drops

of water
.
the swingset creaks
the bluebells sway
sky so cloudy
perfect day

my face
smacks the dirt

my knees start to bleed

the bluebells sway
and

my tears

moonlight glides
along the deep
deep water

your eyes gaze
in wonder
as you ponder

I can only see you
r
eyes
shining
in delight

your tears stream down your face
as you smile
almost with pride
