When I was a child,
I made choices
that changed
my life forever.
These choices,
I realize upon reflection,
were devious in nature.
Very few
have come to understand
my reasonings
for such promiscuous acts.
When these acts came to light,
I was in my senior year
of high school.
Make no mistake,
these normally happy times,
were the worst days of my life.
Day in,
day out.
I endured silent stares,
snickers,
torment to extremes
no child should bare.
I hit rock bottom
before the age of 18.
I felt I could no longer
show up to school,
eat,
or,
love myself ever again.
Silently,
I turned inside myself.
I became so distant,
so numb.
Just when I thought I was finished,
and could no longer go on,
something peculiar
began to stir in the
depths of my soul.
I tapped into a well
of endless love.

I began to realize my path
in life would never be easy,
but,
I knew it would all
be worth it one day.
My choices at this fragile age
humbled me in ways
my peers would never understand.
I started showing up to school
with my head held high.
I had already endured
the worst of my pain.
And from that pain,
I pulled power.
By human nature,
we are attracted to
what we do not understand.
Not even I understood who I was
during this period of my life.
I thought I was hated,
despised,
by anyone and everyone.
But,
I soon discovered that I was wrong.
I was not hated
for what I had done.
It seemed it was
quite the opposite.
By nature,
I am accepting to anyone
who crosses my path.
This seemingly simple
fact completely contradicts
the decisions of my past.
I make people think.
How could she have done
something so out of character?
To this very day,
I have never been asked
directly about my past.
I find it quite fascinating.
After 3 long years,
No one has had the courage to ask,
"Why"?
So,
I have never given an answer.
I am waiting for the day
someone finally breaks the ice.
When they do,
I will simply ask,
*"Why do you think I did it"?

Poetry healed me
When I was dying
Braced in the oceans
When I was dying

Poetry healed me
When I gasped for air
Lost in the barren fields
When I gasped for air

Poetry healed me
In cities where men lied
Folded dreams and illusions
In cities where men lied

Poetry healed me
In seas where all competed
For a love that was sour and salted
In seas where all competed

Poetry found me first
Initiated me in it's team
In games that tricked me
It found me as an intern
Poetry healed me literally. Thanks to a beautiful soul who lead me to poetry... Unknown but ever known.

What was is like before I fell
Before I ended up in this hell
I don't remember I was only eight
When I got shoved into this fate
Left with feelings of self hate
Human monsters brought me to this gate

The hands of time
They did unwind
It didn't treat me very kind
It brought more monsters and called them mine

Now I'm spinning out of control
Waves of sorrow over me roll
Never knowing which way to go
Should I follow the ******* crow

It would lead me to the grave
You know that is what I crave
There's not much of me to save
For what wasn't stole from me, I gave

Or should I stay in this frozen field
Frozen solid left to deal
Trying to heal what can't be healed
Blinded by my fate, is it sealed

Will any of my tomorrows be kinder
Oh will I grow blinder
By the bites of more sidewinders
Or will I just be thrown into the grinder

I remember mud pies
Chasing fireflies
Lazy summer bike rides
Loved ones that never died
What happened to those things I had before I fell
Before I ended up in this Hell
Can anybody say,can anybody tell

You came to me when you were blue
I feared that awful dreaded hue
You told me to let go of you
But this one task I could not do
We left apart, our separate ways
I then had longed for better days
I held my heart through all the fray
Still bleeding dry in its decay
You held the key to fill me up
Pour all the love back in this cup
To sew the hole and seal it shut
And make me feel to not give up
I have you now and you have me
Oh how happy we can be!
From dusk to dawn, I hope you see
How much this heart is filled with glee
The future is so far away
So please do stay for better days

I’ll put it down on paper now
While the memory is still fresh in my mind
Here it goes.

It was three pm on a September day
Bright and sunny as life in May
I trudge up the stairs to the library
And spot you there looking over me
We didn’t speak, just exchanged a glance
I might not get another chance
But I’m much too proud, or much too shy
And you don’t care enough to just say ‘hi’
So I sat down alone on a table there
Fished out my books and fixed my hair
You came by later to the printer behind
And I try to pretend that I don’t really mind
But then you said my name, soft but clear
It seemed as if it’s been fifty years
You joked and said that I’ve been ignoring you
We both kind of knew that’s not really true
You smiled and asked how it’s been for me
I say ‘just fine’, and it’s the truth, you see
It’s a surprise to know it’s not a lie
To cover up any pain shown in my eyes
I can’t remember when I started accepting it
Everything developed a little bit by bit
And when you left with a nod and smile
I know we won’t be talking again in a good long while
But it doesn’t hurt as much as it did before
Not even bleeding, just barely sore
And just now, I turned my head to see reality
For the last time to make sure that I am free
And there you stood, laughing with her
It’s what you deserve - your happily ever after
I’m not going to be selfish and drag you down
I’m not going to cry for the joy you’ve found
Healed at last, I still don’t know how
But finally – finally - I’m my own person now.

It’s an hour later; I’m packing my stuff
This is still a moment I’ll see in my dreams,
But I won’t wake up crying anymore.

Scars aren't always deep, scars aren't always seen.  Scars can be healed, it just takes the right person to help you do it

Time* has gone by
But only in reality has it gone
Within, it seems like its been a lifetime
Knowing you, or rather having known you..
It’s probably all been the same
We said things wouldn’t change
But we’ve slipped away from each other
Like aged tires, unprepared for the rain

At the ****** of our demise it seemed unreal
I tried to hold on for so long
Most would say too long
As i hung from my figment of a cliff, my fingers began to fail me
With every moment of negligence I cried for a change of heart
From you, that never came

As I free fell from my cliff
Deep into the abyss of nothingness I sank into, and digressed from life
I was in a state of internal paralysis
My heart beated, but ever so quietly
My mind thought thoughts, but ever so dismally
I walked the halls watching others laugh and fellowship
When all the while I just missed your smile

Your laugh
Your smell
Your walk
Your talk
Your eyes
Your touch
It was all too much
Too much to yearn at once

As lonesome days came and went, I wondered when this would leave me
When I’d be free from this feeling of no feeling
Others tried to help but my heart was stubborn
I wanted nothing but to reverse the clock
Back to the days when I did feel
When I did smile
When I did live

But then that day came.
That day when God dove into the abyss and rescued me
It was as if all the pressure from the deep ocean had been lifted off my shoulders
My emulation of the Titan Atlas was no more
My fled soul had been returned to my body
And it was all by His grace

Nowadays I still check up on such individual
But I do so from a far
The feeling of care still resonates in my heart
Just not in the way it once did

Yes you've changed, but I don’t see that You
I see the You that i knew
The You that I met and felt utterly anew
The You that I temporarily walked life with and grew

But I have moved on
It took longer than most would
But I guess it was because I loved way more than I knew I could
Now I see you and I feel nothing
But its far from the nothing of before
Now its a calm nothing
A nothing that reassures
Everything’s going to be okay,
I’ve lit my lantern and let it float away, as it burns

Maybe it was all meant to happen this way
Maybe it wasn’t
But either way
Time has gone by
But only in reality has it gone
