Not long now,
So close, so close,
We get ready,
So soon, so soon,
Just a few hours,
No time, no time,
And it's already gone,
So fast, so fast.

We wait such a long time,
For it to shine for so little,
The light comes and goes,
So quickly,
Before we know it,
It's time to wait again,
But was it really all worth so much?
All this build up,
Hype and anticipation?
Maybe, maybe not,
But we're so close, so close,
There's no time to think.
So soon, so soon,
Are we ready?
No time, no time,
It all happens in a flash,
So fast, so fast.

like the burst of livelihood just before a soul escapes
or the ignition of the ocean just before the sun collapses
my mind flashes an iridescent scope of ultraviolet colours
just before my mind slips into slumber.
a panicked array of worries and memories shooting through the canals of my brain
faster than lightening bolts    in every direction
and then
dreamland

Into the night
we danced with monsters,
we danced with them
till the morning light.
As they flash their eyes
something precious dies
in my aging heart,
that knows the limits
of wondrous art.

We danced like the flames
we roared like the beasts.
We jumped and we shouted
hand and in hand
those monsters and we.
We exploded like stars
blazing throughout the night.
With monsters we danced,
till morning light.
Steele Oct 2014
Once he ran the river, feet kissing the surf
as it rushed against the bank. His feet
moved in a blur, never landing on the earth;
They touched the waters, then flew free.

Now he runs a walker, heels dragging the dirt,
every step coming with more effort than he ever used to need.
He longs for the days before his soles hurt,
before Time broke his pride and capped both his knees.

When he was young, there was no force he couldn't exert,
now his feet touch the ground more than his pride can accede.
Fondly, he remembers the days before his soul hurt.
These days, kids call him "Old Man Allen";
         But back then...
                     his name was...
                                        *Speed.
Even heroes get dentures eventually.

that He alone - held the lightning in
His hands - was the flash -
that lit up reality better than anything else.

Better than - the Sun -
can't run from - Crepuscular Rays
that brought forth irregular days
to which we - were blinded -
in a popular daze.

the conductor of this -
Splitting Storm - Blue streaks -
enfolded around us -
'til filled - with single-minded Zeal -
And - to seal the deal.
Gave us bolts of our own.

Those who showed resistance -
were shot down - and burned -
in a series of dazzling flashes -
now turned - to ashes

All that is left is a glimmer -
a glint of doubt -
that flickers - unsteady -
till it burns out -
beginning the blackout - that -
Something a bit different.

O lover

Sharing that supernovae space with you

Led me to a mischievous sleep which is

both hard to fall in and even harder

to wake up from.

but to your chirpy noise,

I flutter my eyes to catch

a clear glimpse of you,and I find

you,in front of me,smelling of

jasmine,and the

blossom of your

lips compel me to extract

all its sweet juices and now

I find  myself

staring at you,and then your

face close to me,while I enjoy

the touch of your

heavy breathing,

you surface the velocity

of my hefty heartbeats.

To which you chuckle,

your crooked teeth smiling through,

and the crinkles on your nose make

a beautiful pattern,

your cheeks crimson red,

and after a long span of seconds,

I finally catch my breath again

and I heavily blink,

opening up to see that

you were,well,

GONE .
