Her breath like the waters edge
And I, the poor sailor, strayed

Siren on high, weeping angel
Beckoned me, amorous, to the foam

Acceding her escort, fool evermore
I'm submerged, the glint in her eye

Machiavellian goddess and hellfire
Biting down on the neck

Choking through waves of aqua demise
Failing to keep afloat

What do you hear of me?
What rumors slip from others’ lips?
They speak of me, evil mistress, eyes that pull in, and a body that gets caught in your windpipe.
You are unable to swallow me. You chew on me and hastily spit me out. You choke on me.
The wit I possess is too quick for your bruteness. You dismiss my thoughts.
I am just a woman, nothing less, and nothing more.
Bore to serve you and bear your seed.
What do you hear of me? What slips from others’ lips?
Am I a murderous harlot? A bitter witch with nothing better to do.
Do serpents sit atop my brow, shall I turn you to stone?
Am I Charybdis, shall I swallow you whole?
They are unable to chop me up into bit sized pieces. For some reason, they do not love me as a collective.
What do you hear regarding the treatment of me?
You only hear yourselves, deafening my point of view.
I hear I have scorned every one of you. Do you hear of who scorned me?
Have you ever questioned what may have made me this way?
What makes a mistress so vile?
The mistreatment of a loving deity can mangle many.
I was hanged on a hook, a piece of meat left to rot.
I was once pure and heavenly.
I will ask once more,
What have you heard of me?
What tales have slipped from others’ lips?
Have you stopped to think what created me to be so evil?
I am the evil mistress. I will chew you up and I will eagerly swallow you in all your whole.
I know my motive. What is yours?

The devil would pull down your halo
to bind you around the ankle
Ananya Apr 2021
Wide white wings with prayers of gold
a promise of sin on lips,
The glaring halo and horns forgotten
watching where the black and white dips.

The silver ball blasts open
scattering moondust from the sky,
Each drop an intoxication
making their aura cry.

My fingers dance on the piano
watching the angel stride,
Not a hint of terror
as they let the demon glide.

This is a place of dreams
there is no good no evil,
It’s a place where darkness shed
and good loses its will.

Promises are evil
Mouths open awaiting
To be filled with blood
Sometimes bones
Other times hope
They make you sell
Another man for nickels
They make you
Bury life to avenge the dead
I despise them so
For they demand too much
Often bruising, often enslaving.

What if I tell you a story
deeper than a true love’s kiss,
One in which the truth prevails
and it leaves your soul abyss?

What if the mistress of evil
trusted a human once,
An innocent girl who left her solitude
just to watch her wings get burned.

What if Ursula’s deal was fair
all she wanted was to sing,
Are only royal blood allowed to dream
Is that why she was banished by the king?

What if Snow White was in pretense
a girl who helped others mend,
And right after the poisoned apple
Evil Queens heart was under her bed.

What if villains were just humans
without lamps or slippers or prince,
They live without a fairy Godmother
and are deprived of fairytale endings.

They don’t get a knight in armour
or magic genie on the street,
They survive all alone
waiting for their demise to meet.

They walk on broken shards
while the princess attends the ball,
Can you blame them for wanting
to watch the fairest of them to fall?

Born in sin but shaped in inequity all rights are endowed by your creator.

So who's your GOD ?

is it a man,
A spirit,
Or some numbered paper?
God devil satan money man evil

Remind yourself sometimes
as you walk contentedly down the street
thinking you are a god
how the world is not quite a very nice place
Somewhere now
right at this moment
some mobsters are slaying a man
and grind him on a meat grinder
Some poor girl
in a cage in some distant land
is waiting with horror for her next ******
Some drug addict
plunges a knife into his parents' chests
for just one more fix

Light is the absence of darkness

Be the light, at least for a moment
pet the homeless dog
stroke the flower
help the blind old woman cross the street
feed some desperate
send an SMS for a sick child
look around you
do something at least once that is not just for you

add a lump of goodness to the opposite bowl
of cosmic scales

I know that you don't give a ****
and it seems insignificant
a tiny light like a firefly
in an endless sea of evil
do it despite that
get out of your shell
of a cruel, pragmatic  twenty-first-century man
and do some tiny good deed
shine at least a little
before you are swallowed by the almighty darkness
which comes for all of us

to be light
is a reward in itself
English is not my native language, sorry if there are mistakes.

Ever since that dreary sliver of a day
A hell of revenge I vowed you would pay

Promises I proclaim aren’t the lightest to keep
They’ll mercilessly haunt you in restless sleep

Perhaps you’ll see your mistake
For choosing another, breeding my heartache

The rumors are dreadfully nasty and divine
An unsuspected downfall I’ll spell to your life

So that one day the trace of your silhouette
Will waste away like the face of my cigarettes
