when the teacher asks me what elements are necessary to maintain human life i told him nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen and you, not u as in uraniam but you like your heart beat is the only thing powering mine and i don’t know why you haven’t called yet and if all of this is true but hey wouldn’t it be crazy if you were lying awake thinking about me too
what the hell are you scared for?
i didnt write this but i love it

my head's underwater
but i'm breathing fire
what i always thought the lyrics were for "All of Me"
Roman Pavel Jan 2015
I’m searching for Paradise
Beyond the vast ocean on a beach filled with white sand
Under the palm tree in the shadows of untamed land
Where the ocean tides pave over the imprints of a desolate shore
And the wind echoes around caressing the sun drenched floor
In front of the sea, sparkling from the sun’s radiant light
Waiting to set, and be engulfed by the night
In my hand I clasp upon a cold and crisp, refreshing beer
Looking upon the horizon so clear
Oh, wouldn’t it be so nice
To escape this place to Paradise

I’m searching for Paradise
On an immeasurable plane of green land tangent only to a white mountain range
Where the prairie has been spared from the time of industrial change
In front of the sun as it strokes the horizon line
I sit, while I clasp upon my tall glass of wine
The sky is painted by an array of colors, reflecting off tranquil clouds
Free from the hustle and bustle of crowds
The grass is soft, like long bristles of velvet fur
As the pollen rises from the flowers, it creates an indescribable blur
Oh, wouldn’t it be so nice
To escape this place to Paradise

I’m searching for Paradise
In the big city, illuminated by artificial light
Surrounded by friends in the chaos of night
We trek, pushing through the people infested street
And pulse to the music of an inescapable beat
In the heat of passion, impossible to explain
We pop bottle after bottle of the most exclusive champagne
Under the stars, beneath the glittering sky
Indulging within the penthouse so high.
Oh, wouldn’t it be so nice
To escape this place to Paradise

I’m searching for Paradise
On the edge of the world, perched upon a soaring cliff
Where you can taste the cool crisp air with but only a whiff
As the sun begins to peak out from beneath the earths womb
I pour a drink, full of spirits to consume
The birds begin to sing in metronomic rhyme
I sing along, to count the time
In the twilight hour sets
The new day begins as I’m purged of regrets
Oh, wouldn’t it be so nice
To escape this place to Paradise

I’m searching for Paradise
After an extensive and exhausting day of work
Grueling and toiling for a boss who’s a ****
Breaking my back for the lowest of scraps
Sweating and Striving till my knees collapse
I return to an undersized and meager house
To be greeted by my enduring spouse
Embracing the responsibility of my new role as a father
I look upon the face of my daughter
And within her eyes so nice
I finally find Paradise
At first read you may notice that these stanzas are representatives of stereotype paradise, but it is actually places the protagonist wanted to leave to escape to his family.

the hidden gems represent the 4 different elements (water, earth, fire, air) also the 4 points of the day (day, sunset, night, sunrise) and 4 different alcohol (beer, wine, champagne, Spirit[liqour])
all these are illusions of paradise and only after experiencing all 4 elements he finds love in the 5th stanza
no more counting moments in the day, he has life and no alcohol

We're both the same element
but she's wildfire
and I'm a weapons maker
the tempered blacksmith
too distant in his own work
over planning a "good use"
for all my passions

I presumed to craft a spear
150,000 ft at least
I'll **** and **** away in silence
sipping coffee in my low hearth haven
In hopes you wonder how I really feel
and perhaps spill fire *****-nilly
embers annoying friends and family
catch the drapes inadvertently

Will this distance vow we agreed upon without metaphor
be mended through silent adhering
Or is the Lady of the Ram waiting
for a golden armor gesture
Where I appear unannounced
and we'll turn your wild fire into iron flowers

For now, I stare at my forge
going blind.

Fireworks never frightened me
When I was younger, I used to reach up to the sky
Hoping that I could somehow catch them
I guess it worked somehow
The sparks made their way into my veins
Igniting everything they touched
I soon embodied fire
It spewed out of me during arguments
Burned down all my bridges
It was my armor, my protection
Until it engulfed the people I loved
In flames not even I could extinguish
One by one they left
And for the first time in history
Fire transformed into water
Now, instead of an inferno
There is a flood
Instead of sparks
There is rain
Instead of burns
Everyone is drowning
I will never be the person they want me to be
I am either too much
Or never enough

You lead me to the top of the tallest tower,
To show me how far we would fall.
And usually I’m afraid of heights, but now I’m not scared at all.
The wind at this summit softly whistles,
Such a strong sturdy breeze.
It carries your sweet scent my direction,
Now I’m drunk from the airborne disease.
It begins the intoxication,
And then its work is through.
But the other elements are waiting their turn,
They have important tasks too.
From the rooftop the stars twinkle brighter,
The spotlights turned on for the show.
And the one to the north takes a look at itself,
The blue of his eye where it glows.
Then the sleepy mind senses its next,
Because it perceived the spark.
And the contented stars smile down and gloat,
They know they've left their marks.
Conduits connect quickly, electricity rushes through.
A cold heart has been resuscitated, to perform the job it was made to do.
It pushes warmth into your fingertips,
It blushes the tops of your cheeks.
The adrenaline that it produces,
Gives you the bravery to move your feet.
Swan dive off the balcony, pulling him down as you go.
“Where are you taking me?” he asks.
You reply with a smile, “I don’t know.”
And the clouds panicked at the risky plunge,
As they watched you make the fall.
So they floated underneath you both,
A soft landing, once and for all.
As you both fell in the safety net,
The real destination you knew.
You breathless whisper could barely be heard,

Have you heard the story of The Five Elements?
There was Water to replenish the Earth, quenching his thirst.
Fire was jealous, so he had to burn Earth, and this only dried Water up.
Wind had no interest in sides, and he played with Fire's flames, causing them to grow. He made ripples in Water, causing her to come back with waves.
With Water's waves, she put Fire out. Fire and Water are always fussing, like an old married couple.
Wind enjoyed messing with Earth, as well, blowing stuff around and destroying rock - although that took some time.
Earth did not mind any of them. Water gave him life, and also helped him start anew with floods.
Fire also helped Earth, by ridding of the dead and helping the living start over. Wind also helped Earth.
Wind helped spread DNA and helped things begin life.
Spirit had no place where the others were concerned. She was wiser than them all, but she could not destroy, like Fire, Water, and Wind.
She did not hold them all together like Earth. She could not quench thirst like Water, and she could not help start populations like Wind, nor could she rid of the dead like Fire.
Though, Spirit is what helps them keep going. She is the animals, the insects, the plants.
She's the soul and everything of the like.
Without Spirit, Earth would be barren.
Yes, the other Elements would still exist, but there would be no point.
No one is better than another. No, they hold each other together.
Fire may love Water and Water may love Fire.
Earth and Spirit are the eldest and have been around the longest; their love is the strongest.
Wind is not a child, but he has the will of one. Nothing can tie him down.
Their family is not perfect, but there would be nothing without them.
This is the story of the Five Elements.
Alone, they are nothing.
Together, they are stronger.

Zinc is needed to help support the body's immune system, as well as encourage human growth, meaning that without it, defenses and growth are stunted

I met a boy named Zinc

I met a man named Zinc

I met a man who called himself 'Z' even though his parents still called him 'boy' and named him Zinc, because Neon
was too flamboyant and Iron was too tasteless, and who on earth names their kid 'Oxygen', right?

ANYWAY:

It's worth noting that Z liked everyone, meaning A-X, and I was left wondering why he seemed to like girls who waved with the backs of their hands and not the palms, and why the only time he spoke to me was if I wouldn't leave him alone, and why it's obvious to those around him that lights are flashing in the eyes of 'why'-

-ME when he noticed the stars I stole from the night in an attempt to spell his name out for the Gods but he was too busy hoping to catch the attention of the Devil and I hope she breaks his heart so he knows what it's like to wake up feeling empty because you gave your all to a person with a gambling problem, and I...
...don't make sense anymore.

ALRIGHT

I met a man who called himself 'Z' even though his parents still called him 'boy' and named him Zinc, and he didn't like the chain around my neck, but he let me wear it because it reminded him of hope, which he had lost when he was young, but had vicariously experienced through me. Just kidding.
Her.
Capital 'H', lowercase '-er', silent 'she's not going to love you like I will'...

I LIED

he doesn't know I wear a cross (or used to) because he's too busy falling in love with the fact that she's got daggers in her eyes and she knows how to dance to all his favorite songs, while I only know the lyrics to them all, and maybe she won't break his heart but she sure as hell won't be gentle with it either because girls like me write about girls like her and girls like her burn books about boys like him.

I'm not sure what this poem is about. Or why it is the way it is. That's a lie.
I know, but I can't say I want to anymore...
