We often forget that the person closest to us could be one
The one we always try to protect ourselves from
Fel Nov 2014
I'm all jitters and quick thoughts and shaking hands

And I can't tell if its from the lack of sleep

The too-sweet coffee

The chill of the night

Or the way the stranger said, "I'd take you to my apartment if you were old enough."
I had never been noticed before now, and its scaring the **** out of me.
Well now,
I seen you got that look in your eyes
I know you saw right through my disguise
This front, this mask I wear
Trying to tell everyone
"Beware"

Yeah sweet,
I see your hidden side,
That you've been trying to hide,
But please, just be fair,
I'm different I really do
Care

So...
You've seen what's been hidden
Underneath the paint on my face
I guess I'll have to apply a layer again
Can't let anyone touch my grace
I like being a mystery
Trapped in a
Haze

And...
There you are, out of my view
After I had a glimpse of the real you
Now I won't be put off
Or easy to faze
My life's complex
So I love a
Maze

It's true,
I do enjoy a chase
Sometimes, getting caught
Just ruins the game
So, as I look over my shoulder
I begin to
Wonder

I see...
I'll  show you respect, admiration and grace,
I'll  continue to follow  but slow up my pace.
I still have my wits, but that's a wonder,
Considering it's your spell that I'm
Under

Do you now...
You know that I run for a reason?
I hide my inner light,
Cause I'm someone no one believes in
This life has been hard
And I'm the one dealing the cards
But I know now, I'm not the
Queen

Ah,
Unbelieved in is what you say?
I see it from another way,
You deal me the cards, and I pocket the hearts,
And you had it planned from the start,
You outplayed me, my trickster queen,
As we exit arm in arm as our final

She turns my heart asunder
Penetrates the soul with thunder
Too late I began to see
What a fool i have been.

I can't take this any longer
The weight is getting stronger
Deceived by her tricks
What a fool have I been.

Mocks me with laughter
The master puppet in action
Pulling on my strings
What a fool have I been.

Yet I still love her
I know I've been conquered.
Wanting her near
What a fool have I been.

You may judge Me
But remember one thing.
Love makes one blind
Makes a fool out of thee.

So beware of the beauty
That one perfect cutie
For you too will realize
What a fool you have been.
My first poem guys, I hope you like it. Please let me know of any hints if you like helping people. I just on interested in making Poems and I do love it. Have a nice day.

Poem Thief beware we are watching you.
You may steal our words, but you will not steal our resolve
There is another thing that you can not steal which is our Love and support for each other
You may think that you are invisible but you are not
Many eyes are watching you
What you think you do in silence could come to light in public someday
Just as good deeds become known, woe to the one doing bad deeds, someday they have to pay a very high price
I hope that if you read this, you will be nice and give proper credit to the Author's of the poems you stole
I also feel I should warn you that with every poem you steal, you might be losing a piece of your soul
It has come to my attention that someone has been stealing Poems of my friends on Hello Poetry and claiming them as their own and posting them on another site.

Broken windows
and opened doors.
Chipped paint
and faulty floors.
A rusted ****
and restless yellow.
A shadows moment
in an empty hello.
A different view
hidden corners.
A little light
from too nice of a foreigner.
A promise here
forgotten there.
The damsel in distress.
Beware.

fire
from the tongue of a human being
has the grandest flames
and the most overwhelming of fumes
so beware before entering the gates
of another one's path
metaphorical but true

Be careful whom you trust
Be careful who hears your words
Be careful to whom you confide
Often enough these are people who hide

Their masks are bright and painted
The claws dipping in blood and tainted
They feed on your every word
What you confide is like gold

Unbeknownst to you, they lie in quiet wait
Waiting and watching when you'll trip over your fate
Then gleefully will issue that malicious smile
I've got you trapped now, where will you fly.

From the heart of a wounded, I write to you
Friend, fear the one who says he's true
Test and try every one you meet
Open not your hearts door to everyone you greet!
Just feeling a little low today!

i.

they say that when you drown,
it's nothing like in the movies;
it's silent.
there's no splashing,
no screaming,
no kicking or crying for help.

just
silence.

and i guess it's true,
for i am drowning --
there is water in my lungs,
pouring into my heart,
filling my veins and escaping from my eyes --
yet i cannot speak.

i am rendered speechless
by you.

ii.

i'm not so sure if it's
the smooth white sand
ingrained in your skin,

or the intricate seashells
that are your daintily painted
fingernails.

maybe it's the pulsing red
of a moon during high tide
that shines through
your scarlet lips,

or maybe
it's the crashing waves
filling the ocean in your eyes.

maybe it's the way you sweep me up
and pull me under,
stealing my breath,
invading my thoughts.

or maybe it's how you
are unpredictable.
you are in alliance with the erratic skies
and fickle moon,
and yet,
no one can control you,
no one can predict your next move.

iii.

i find it fascinatingly beautiful
how easy it is
for you to destroy yourself,
how you hide within raging whirlpools
and tear yourself apart from the inside.

people are afraid of the ocean,
but the ocean is a part of you.
who knows, though?
maybe you're scared of the ocean too.

iv.*

beware the girl with the ocean eyes,
for a heart that is eaten away by the sea
can never be whole again.*

idk.
