In a society that has destroyed all adventure,
the only adventure left is to destroy that society.*

Is graffiti
written on an
abandoned bedroom,
what children occupied
this space?

I ruminate then dissipate.

When society falls
burning around us
hold my hand
and watch the
mesmerizing flames
dancing about
the Comcast building.

It's all just cheap trash and ****** developments. All the real things, the authentic things, the honest things are dying off. Intellectually and culturally we just bounce around like random billiard *****, reacting to the latest random stimuli.

But who, what kind
of creature would
want to destroy
all we have striven
and driven to obtain,
was it all really
a mission in vain?

I ruminate
Then dissipate

here we are
the water glows
the river froths
bubbles and flows
here we are
apocalypse

here we are
in ash and dust
we see the world
in blood and rust
here we are
apocalypse

I feel it in the air
as buildings crash
and claxions blare
welcome to the new age
to the new age
welcome to the new age
to the new age

woe woe woe woe woe
woe woe woe woe woe
radioactive
radioactive

here we are
the dragon's eggs
we have to crawl
we have to beg
here we are
the dragon's spawn

our father's killed
with molten fire
they are gone
they have expired
here we are
but they are gone

I feel it in the air
outside the dragon's lair

welcome to the new age
to the new age
welcome to the new age
to the new age

I'm radioactive
radioactive
woe woe woe woe woe
woe woe woe woe woe

radioactive**

based on song
"Radioactive"
written by Alex Da Kid
and Ben Linke
for Imagine Dragons
I personally like the version
by Pentatonix with Lindsey Strirling

Look it up on YouTube
it's fantastic!

They say the elite
are going into
underground bunkers
when the do-do hits the fan

Their kids have to
come out sometime

We made nests in clocks
that Summer the electricity died.
Stars rose out of the ether for the first time in centuries.

Autumn rolled in
but it only grew hotter.
We climbed on rooftops to escape the heat of our homes
and saw the silhouettes of strangers follow.

Winter choked the freeways, the subways, the old ways.
Rust fell on us like rain.
We danced in the belly of an abandoned ship
cheeks burning with mirth.

By Spring
the plants had withered
and the animals had slept until their bodies devoured their souls.
We sat on the town hall as the sun engulfed the sky
Thankful for such a beautiful life.

Can't ******* wait.
Elizabeth Dec 2015
I watched a single spruce sprout out of crack in asphalt
Sunday morning, church time,
From my skeletal apartment
high above the street lamps,
While my eyes dried and crusted with dust.
My fingers charred to leather, tightly bound
on to the iron balcony.

But the stubble-like blemish of the road's surface
Was ****** back inside concrete
From which it grew,
A magic trick,
Like a rabbit reentering its black hole tophat,
Just as the earth was flushed
down the esophagus of Satan,
Swirling in a tornado of molten lava,
Lucifer's saliva.
Written from a prompt that required us to picture a moment of peace in an Apocalyptic world.

To pick my brain
I'll just lay here
Have some pins and needles
It's so fun walking on them

Reeling
Like a kick right to the feels
In my heart
In my soul
Or, maybe my nuts

As I grow old
I've grown more cold, to the terror
It whittles away
and I simply admire it, vacantly
It happens on the daily
Change the ******* channel

Every morning I look in the mirror
And tell myself, "Life's a ****. **** it."
You **** that **** duderocketship.
Filthy *****.
Bawling my eyes out
With a coat of smeared lipstick
streaking my face

It's my birthday.
What a beautiful day for nuclear holocaust
Good a day as any, I reckon
To wine and dine on a feast of destruction
While the world spontaneously combusts

Somebody hand me a beer
And we'll scale my collapsing cognitive function
With a ******* to The Man!
I got a whole fist I'd fancy to ****** inside him

This end of the world clock is broken
and keeps ticking
And I just listen
Tick tick tock
Waiting for the bomb
Losing hope
Idly twiddling my thumbs

To go out with a bang is my lone desire
It rattles my bones
Set the world on fire
Light up the night
I just want to watch it burn
There's a pretty nice view
from my back porch
Replacing the stars with torches
Scorching a ravaged sky

It's a party
******, Gandhi, & The Pope are coming
Bring your friends
I'm cringing yet effervescent
In supple prepubesence
His dead eyes ****** me

Might I fly high
Beyond your envisioned sky?
Beyond conceptual ties
That bind blind guys.
I'll take back what the modern man lacks:
A soul and a heart.
A nice place to start,
For a spirit to depart,
Venture deep into art.
Canvas spills upon your body,
Define your form among'st fog;
A confusion, a situation losin',
This lane, that lane, the lost man's cruisin'.
A vision of division - a tangled mind angle.
You could see what I bring to the table.
A way back to what we lack..
Might you ask what it is when I say that?
How about a dinner and snack
Where you don't want something
And there's no news story to crack..
Just the heart I know, that person I need,
A star, a distant glow.
What we need is a hardy hearth;
Gather round the sound enveloped in the crowd.
Lose your mind and align, dance blissful all night~
To the rhythm of the time.
Or how about abundance
A huge human party, one that-
Every one's invited to, whether your purple, black, or blue.
Battered and bruised by history's screws..
A machine we built and a boat we'll tilt;
A seed that will bloom..
And a flower that will wilt.

I sat to watch the world end
when I thought I heard a train
far over the waning horizon
It must have been my imagination
An echo of a locomotive memory
Those trains you hear but never catch a glimpse of

The trees were unaware
Still breathing life into a doomed atmosphere
Swaying blindly to an invisible rhythm
I wish I could be as blissfuly ignorant
Instead I inhale their last goodbyes

It all seemed normal for a moment
as the sky overhead opened up to the sun
letting the glow illuminate the silent landscape
The shadows marked the countdown
as they elongated into looming innuendos of mortality

The gods are cruel and I am alone
How long has it been?
Four breaths, five breaths, six
A bitter taste of soot and hope lingers
The end takes longer than I had anticipated
So I sit to watch the world end
Kagey Sage Oct 2015
The debate is on
I want to perform
but first I must
humidify my guitar
Ate dinner
now there's a lump in my throat
so I'm gonna sit here
drinking tea 'till I feel
paradoxically soothed and energized
hamburger and homefries
the summer dish
perfect for outside
but here I sit in my A/C winterland
conditioning myself for hats and gloves
The water's warming and rising
the mosquito larvae have won
Itching in Yellow Fever delirium
These grassy hollows
were once a worthwhile place

The new wonders are now
grotesque animistic anomalies
Today, face-to-face with rabid rabbits
Tomorrow, the white light angels
with hyper beam cleansing
they could no longer bear to watch
from porcelain obelisks
the human media screen
of indoor inexploration
fail to hide the sins
from the scale holding counters
Justice, the lucky one
with bandanna over eyes
still heard the profit wrenching semantics
get drowned out from screaming harpies
Responsible gods stopped their foray
in fear humans will survive
Dark matter engulfs all
in fear humans will survive

Shrouded in the night’s thick fabric,
Some who fear infinity
Believe a dark door
In the sky will open
And heaven will empty itself
And everything they have ever lost
Will come back to them.

Here come the omen
Things for those mischief

Then. . .

The wind approached them with his coax
Indeed, love was his arms
But those imp mistreat his word of care

Now. . .

There they are in the land torrid
Where they've learned to beg
They've shouted "Let us Die"
But no ear listen
Alas! They've learned to cry

Regrets, If only they've heeded the counsel of the wind
Be punished not with eternal pain
They've asked for mercy again and again
But apocalypse's way... stayed the same...
