when I come to it.

Oh, soft, sweet and vivid fruit
We greet you each morning with glee
Holding you in the palms of our hands
Toss you around happily

We wake up with a growing thirst
For your pure saccharine juice
Grab a glass, admire your spirit
Knowing well we have nothing to lose

Then we hack, and we slice
Through your center part, tearing away at the skin
Ruthlessly clawing through the exterior
To get to the lifeblood within

Back in our palms you find yourself
Weary of what may come next
We seize your head and the sides of your form
And squeeze before you can object

In terror you struggle and holler and cry
“Why must you do this to me? I’m a friend and I care for you so!”
But what you may have never realized is
We have always been both selfish and hollow

We crave something of substance and dimension
For one covets what one typically lacks
So while you believed the lies we spoke through our teeth
We held a dagger aimed at your back

When our cup is finally full of your sap
And you’re done being used for the meal
We throw you away after stealing your soul
Nothing left but a few orange peels

Louisa Coller Apr 2015
There's a sharp pain in my side, driving me insane,
clicking my back all the time, ouch ouch ouch.
Message from him, a message from her,
they both love me you know, it's pretty awkward.
I have a box on my desk, it's brown and filled up,
nothing good to you maybe, but stuff I treasure a lot.
There's that drawing I did when sleep high,
"Sleep High" is what my friends like to call tired.
Might update another piece of writing today, not sure yet,
I can't believe I've been writing this since 2012.
The cat is so soft, I wanna just snuggle his fur,
I'm trying to think of a song to listen to, but I can't be bothered.
Storm Feb 2015
Twas the night before the end of the world,
And all through the house,
Not a creature was giving any craps,
Not even the mouse.

The rain was pounding
On the roof up ahead,
But no one paid mind,
They had nothing to dread

The children were nestled
All smug in their beds,
While thoughts of still having freaking school tomorrow
Danced in their heads.

With mom in her kerchief
And dad in his cap,
They both settled down
For a (hopefully) peaceful nap.

12 am struck, and my eyes opened wide!
The end of the world!
It was coming!
We all had to hide!

I got out of bed
As quick as a dash,
And tore open the curtains,
Tore down the sash!

And what, to my wondering eyes, would appear?
Nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
Oh...oh dear.

The streets were wet from rain,
The grass and dirt muddy.
A crazy guy walked down the street,
And he was somewhat chubby.

Oddly disappointed, I went back to bed.
For now, like every other sane person,
I had nothing to dread.

The children awoke,
And as they shouted about the end in fright,
I heard mom exclaim,
"It's not over, shut up, and good night!"
Back on December 20, 2012, the population of the world thought it was going to finally bite the dust. Instead of freaking out, I had taken that night to write up this little baby to the rhythm of "Twas the Night Before Christmas". Two year old poem, take of it what you will! Enjoy!
Ayelle Garcia Jul 2014
As days jitter by gleamed with such sheer and merry,
Then comes the memoriam-filled allegory;
Called the times of meditation and redemption,
Purple-shrouded cloth with blood has brought salvation.

40 days to drop down and be poured on ashes,
40 nights to commemorate for such dashes;
A memoir to be sung, flinging an elegy,
Sacrifice of the Son tuned to a eulogy.

But have no disheartened faith heard on stricken grief,
For a promise of sacrifice is worth that brief;
It’s the moment to recall, repent, and renew,
Making a mark not turn to long the past askew.

Lenten season speaks of turning from the darkness,
Losing a part to share with Him pure happiness;
Just as Christ suffered for the shortcomings of men,
His Church must respect and join for the time given.

So do not grieve for his loss, or that of your own,
It will be worth such a gain and it shall be sown;
For that choice, a short-time loss is a long-time gain,
With God, He provides us courage to surpass pain.

Such as to come thwart on our midst His forthcoming,
Prepare not only now but till life deems rusting;
But until time hovers to an eternal halt,
Apprehend, amend on such light and grave faults.
I made this for Lent 2012, as a resolution to start posting written literature for the Lord.
Dragon* – a reference to government or a leader with such great powers.

Economics can determine the future?
The decision making, which can force millions to abide to the law established by government, can determine the future. *That’s it.

An extension of affluence for all,
But where is the long term?
Poverty and high unemployment,
Now an argument?
With two years to educational progress,
Juan Dela Cruz drew back and recoil.

Humankind’s race,
With such declining economies..
A need for taxation of the working class
To stay number one, or should I say, the Top 10?

For those capable to success,
No full-time salaries.. No livable wage..
A further education..
Would it be worth it when a full-time was offered?

For the move of the dragon,
Is there a downgrade forecast for the nation?
GDP has been calculated, water dragon may not be drown..
Meagre realm’s tyro – for their incomes deduction.

Rhythmic clunk
just as
my heart would jump
just as
too many times
burning right through
I’d trace the line,
that led to you.
A breeze of air
whips the hair
you never got to see;
claiming fairs
of all I couldn’t be.
Cutting through
interwoven lines
sunken view
good service signs
brought together
by the tube.
twenty-twelve and the whole world blocking my run
even London Underground didn’t want this one
to become
a two.

Mater dolorosa, he visto tanto mal… He hecho tanto mal.

Prefiero movimientos involuntarios y errores.

We take on the world, expecting to be taught.
Without realization that some things need to be sought.
We expect to observe and learn from the faults of others,
We indulge in ourselves & all else we smother.
Kick back, feet up, taking notes on all mistakes...
All of which are plausible, one day they may even hold us at stake.
All in hopes to prevent the inevitable,
Not even taking the time to consider if the source is credible.

The notepad is stored, somewhere in the depths of our head,
& a spark of motivation is all there is left said.
However, words can only do so much.
It's like learning of love, but never experiencing it's touch.
Actions speak louder than words, a common cliché.
Yet this quote spells out a more blissful way.

Put down the pen and start facing change.
Stop holding onto one outlet, take on a perspective with more range.
Find your footing, let experience lure.
Breathe meaning to your actions, bring life to your words.
This world can be cruel, mean, even terrifying...
A series of unfortunate events is difficult to find satisfying.
But this is where we all must learn…
Somethings in life need to be churned.
Things that can't be discovered, taught, or found.
With this realization comes a beautiful sound.
You see, happiness does not exist, it is a creation.
One we each must take on for our own, that's the only way for self revelation.

Dig deep into your soul,
You will discover new and old.
Shine light upon what is in hibernation.
Mold your own path, instead of back tracing.
Life is short, but you can make it worth while.
Live fully, find what brings out your true smile.
Hold onto the good, release the negative, & construct the best.
Eternal bliss indeed exist, it just blends well with the rest.
So open your mind, embrace your soul, & move to the beat of your heart.
You will stumble across happiness one day, but there is only one way to start.
