Without a Valentine
All alone I dine
So peaceful, so serene
But not too far, I hear a scream!

One guy stood her on their blind date!
Second came for dinner too late
Third one was way too afraid
Another slapped for his haste to get laid

Everything so crimson, hurts my eyes
My usual brown pie is red too, Sigh!
Pitiful eyes look my way
I can’t digest the hype of this day!

There another drunkard sings ridiculously,
Miss Curvy dances seductively,
The ugly blonde rejects “The Ring” snobbishly
While the old lady argues adorably!

Oh, sweet Valentine’s
Have you all lost your minds?
You've wasted months, days and hours
To sweeten this day which only turns sour!

Trying too hard to be someone else
Won’t ring any happy bells!
A few gestures of love can make it special too
So make it memorable for them and you!

I had posted this poem on my blog on 14th February 2014. Really wanted to share it here. Didn't have the patience until the next Valentine's Day!
I am not anti valentine but just wanted to illustrate this perspective :)
Share with me your valentine days incidents!
When my brain turns cold
And my heart feels old
When it’s hard to breathe
When I cannot speak

When I am in a dark place
Following a trace
That is leading me to the gates
In whom I put my faith

When I am stuffed with pills
And time stands still
When I am losing the vent
As the death angel is sent

Will you come?
Will anyone come?
Will you cry?
When you watch me die!

Would you forget it all?
And answer my death call?
Will you sprinkle flowers of love?
And I shall then fly away like a dove!

At the age of five,
You feel so alive,
You're a buzzing bee,
New to the hive,

You've received,
Such a lucky mentor,
Your Education!
But it's indentured.

You may spend your days,
in different ways,
But in thirteen years,
You'll have to pay.

So in your seat,
you'll have to stay.
Don't you worry,
There's time to play.

Do this work,
Don't fake you're sick.
Finish that piece,
Of Arithmetic.

Don't pay attention,
to foreign slander,
Keep up working,
On your grammar.

We help the world!
In every way!
Just like we did,
Columbus day!

Just you sit,
and pay attention,
Don't you dare,
Ask me a question.

No you can't,
Make an invention,
You must be crazy!
What's your intention?

Science is simple,
And dull and basic,
It's not too far,
that you can take it.

Get rid of them all,
Each thought you've got,
If you begin to think,
Your brain will rot.

Put down that book,
turn on the tube.
If you get lucky,
You'll see a ****.
Happy First Period.

The ******* is sitting here teaching off of a ******* powerpoint we started three weeks ago.
And here I sit,
writing.
Sometimes it's surprising,
How it's fun to do some writing,
And to spend a little bit of time
alone.

I just don't answer the phone,
They can talk after the tone,
I'm not so worried about
what they need to say.

So I wake up every day,
And then I start to feel this way
that all the People are
really wearing me down

So then i'm walking around,
losing it all over town,
And i'm just waiting it out,
To get back home.

So I get back to my place,
You know that I don't hesitate
To quickly take myself a seat
and jot one down.

And then i'm up late at night,
And now i'm having a fight,
With this ******' keyboard
I never win.
I like this one.

Et cetera
A million twinkling stars
On a purple-grey sky.
A million strands of grass
On a wet brown land.
A million mites of dust
In the air I breathe.
A million specks of rust
On the bench in front.
A million rays of light
From the lamp-post proud.
A million dreams in sight
In the overwhelming crowd.

amrutha
When you sharply stare at nothing but midair
Unseeing into the particles of space,
When you let your thoughts drizzle down upon you
In spite of the mess that you are a part of,
When you recap your life till yesterday
Those haunting memories you keep thinking of,
Smiling at some, skipping the ghostly ones
Moving restlessly and touching yourself;
These five seconds of blankness
When you stare at nothing but midair
Can either build you up stronger than before
Or tragically destroy all that you are
You know the odds, you know how to win over your thoughts
But you play with the loudest of your emotions anyway.
