A beat
It took no longer than a heart beat
Then all the memories were gone
But I could still recall
That it was a moment
A moment in which I knew
A moment in which I was whole
Was it a dream?
Was it a parallel universe God wanted me to see?
And the person I was in it, was that really me?
Inspired by the novel "the ocean at the end of the lane" by Neil Gaiman

I’d love to hear your thoughts about this one :)
Sorry my past caught up to me
memories so rough
they got the best of me
I am a victim of my past choices
decisions made that now leave me voiceless
Sorry to include you in my life that now leaves you choice less
You are now a piece of history I wish to rewrite
A battle I wish I could re-fight
A light I wish I could keep bright
But now you leave me as we fall apart
Take pieces of my heart
Maybe in the moonlight
you will remember me underneath the skylight
Remember times I touched your sweet heart
if it is in you
I wish you could still fight for a love that was so right
we met at the wrong time
If I could go back I would of made you mine before I met you
I'm sorry that in this life of mine you had to be a part of a love with an expiration date
They knew to be new
They had a lot to gain again
All eight hundred thousand eighty eight of them ate
Their sorrows and pain
To make weight they had to wait
Color coded skin shades sold with dollar signs
Dark ones known as field slaves
Light ones known as house slaves
Women ***** by their masters
And whipped after
Scars left on their bodies as reminders
Given last names like Washington and Lincoln
Former Kings and Queens who lost their crowns
Shipped in boats sold by the tons
Black bald boys bawled tears of pain
Black mothers and fathers with wisdom to be authors
had to settle to be unpaid workers chained to shackles
Knowledge oppressed and robbed of their mental ability
To survive they relied on creativity
Singing soul music just to get through slavery
Bad birth, Birthed a ******* baby
Born bad, born to be betrayed
Baggage badly backhanded beaten brutally
Born to be bullied, Before breathing beauty
Born to be bashed
A Barrier bouncing barbarian
Black blocks block beautiful behavior
Boiling beauty turns to a brutal beast
Blocked brain banned from being the best
A bitter beast born bad bonded behind bigotry
Bombarded brain brutally beaten before birth
Dark clouds,
Pollution fills air with dust,
Melted paintwork,
Cars rust,
The world is cold,
Hearts, brains and souls,
Full of mould.

Innocent animals die,
Innocent children cry,
The peaceful natural world
We once lived in,
Is full of death,
Heart break and sin.

I struggle to find a kind person,
The more I try and help
The more it seems to worsen,
If you're in doubt
About the life you live
Put on a smile,
Ask more and give.

For the world a bitter place,
So pick yourself up
An exception to the human race,
When you wake up grin
Share the laughter,
Eventually you'll wish
You did after.

If you feel times are tough,
Go explore, see the world,
You haven't seen enough,
Meet new people, meet new friends,
And fall in love,
Before your soul is caught
In a star from above.

Small children in poor countries,
Don't have healthy water,
But families go out and buy
A new car for their daughter.

With the world always spinning
Throughout the years,
All you're doing is sat
Shedding tears,
Just sit for a moment
Open your eyes and ears
It's not all bad,
When you've got family,
Friends and beers.
My final version of this, one of my originals but thought I'd go back and finish it :D
There's everything beautiful within you,
Not a single flaw,
Begging for love,
but shutting it down,
There's truly everything lonely within you,
But it's such tragic irony.

As soon as I can hold you,
Once again,
I won't let go I swear,
We can't leave us behind,
Anymore,
We've watched clocks turn,
Glared as days burn,
Trying to catch the ashes,
Between my elusive fingertips.

The hardest of catch,
Wanting competition but scared,
Of not matching expectation,
As I'm battered and bruised,
Broken in two,
And who the hell am I?
Not feeling like you're good enough for anyone.
