Morning dew lends her kiss my skin so soft and sweet

the scent of heaven in the air, rich soil beneath my feet

rays of sunshine warm and bright as they come to say hello

while a gentle breeze blows on by leaving petals in the meadow

A soul full of jealousy,
a heart full of pride,
I struggle to keep my demons inside

My mind is corrupted,
my anger unleashed
my path is unclear as I change my stride

Relentless anguish,
unbearable pain,
a place I know all to well,
Heaven help me, for I have fallen,
I'm stuck on the wrong side of hell

I am god the devil born of strife
living this hell that we call life
a tormented servant a leader of man
an empty shell no salvation at hand
You reached out but I forgot to say hello
I died but you forgot to say goodbye

When the burdens of the world have all come crashing down,
when there's no one left to hold no comfort to be found;
when daylight seems a blur and the only peace is dark,
I'll leave you to your metaphors and pierce my breaking heart

Dream to chance
a change in time
a place for me
and you are mine
a dance a swirl
oh what a sight
I’ll hold you close
I’ll hold you tight

The warmth you seek is here inside, I’ll fill your hearts desires
The cold will never break our stride, my loves a burning fire

I would be the snow where you make angels
and the powder where you fall
The leaves that catch your eye
changing colors in the fall
The sounds that lift your spirit
singing softly in the spring
The warm summers sun
and the happiness within
Tony Oquendo Aug 2014
I love your button nose
And  your curly wavy hair
Your curious little fingers
And your wondrous blue eyed stare
Your giant little smile
And your laugh that melts my heart
Your wiggly little toes
And each and every part
To my daughter
