Rainy days...
Calls for the fallen ones
United
They collapse into tears

Rainy days...
Makes it colder than most
Frozen
They hold themselves close

Rainy days...
Summons the darkest creatures
Heartless
They start to feed on your fears

Rainy days...*
Silences the loudest cries
Breathless
They begin to celebrate in the fire

*On rainy days
Leave the beaten aside
Allow them to crash
Promise them their space
Because once they rise from the fallen droplets
They will stay
And they will be
indestructible...
Stand up, stronger and tougher than ever.

drifting at sea
without
your voice the rudder
my soul
the wind
gusting and twirling
under
our constellations
now
now
catch and billow
righten
in joy
our dawn
rising on the edge
looking for
your smile
to me

Branches lace the moon
Tracing beauty in wildness
I imagine you
far but near
It had just stopped raining
The musty smell from the
Carved wood of the swings
And the earthy scent of the
Damp sand below them
Awoke in you a nostalgic feeling
And memories started playing
Like old movies inside your mind.

A child’s sweet laughter
Filled your ears and you found yourself
Mesmerized by the innocence of
That young, boisterous voice
You had long forgotten
It sounded like your song
Played in a different key
A melody life had yet to change

You wished you could still run to mom
When you tripped and hurt your knee
Back when the only kisses that mattered
Happened when she kissed it better
Back when the only wounds you
Had to bandage were from
Falling on the playground

The movie ended and too soon
You spotted the dark clouds ahead
Gathering over you like thoughts
On comic books you used to read
You got up and left the memories behind
They stayed there like kids would
Having fun like you never could again.

Remember that autumn we were strolling
Hand in hand but the leaves weren't falling
The birds flitting across branches calling
Our names together as if it were one word
In tweets and chirps and it sounded absurd
But we laughed all the same when we heard
The name that was us and we kept going
To where we were headed with hearts showing
And souls naked with words silently flowing
You might have forgotten but I forever recall
The lost autumn when the leaves refused to fall
And the birds said what we wanted, they said it all

I'm in love
No, not with a person
But with the autumn night sky

I'm in love
With the way the stars bend down
And seem to hug me

I'm in love
With the way the breeze dances by
And seems to kiss my cheek

I'm in love
With the vastness of night
And the loveliness that is autumn

I'm in love
No, not with a person
But with the autumn night sky

Dark night
sinking into
the icy lake
water
inky
green
the red hot sun
broken
fallen
into a maple tree
mountain
crimson
there's no blue here
no sea
it's autumn.

the weather turns chilly
and the leaves turn brown
and the trees are dying
yet we find beauty in death
'do not try to make sadness beautiful'
they say while they watch things die
perhaps there is a beauty in sadness
or in death
what is this

Brown, to orange,
Shades of autumn
As sun weakens
The year wanes
Eerie mists swirl
Around dying hedges
Clouds skirting
A harvest moon
Dew edges to frost
Mornings chilled
Damp smell of earth
Moist on still air
