From dust I came,
To dust I shall return.
With this in mind,
I strive to make my numbered days fun;
And productive.
To ensure I fulfill the purpose that brought me here.
To leave my mark on the few ones that do care.
The message remains as the days burn;
From dust we all came,
To dust we all return.
A little reminder for everyone to live a fulfilling life because life is short.
Sun
The Sun is just another
In an endless sky of stars
If we saw it from far away
Would we know it was ours?

It isn't too remarkable
In any special way
An ordinary little star
That rides the Milky Way

But when seen from our point of view
The Sun is like a god
So wonderful, so full of light
So powerful, so hot

It's bright enough to light the sky
And paint it blue and gold
It shines on us, it grows the plants,
It warms us when we're cold

I think we would love any star
That brought us so much light
But our Sun is the only one
That shines on us this bright

Sometimes the ones who look
Ordinary from far away
Will dazzle you if you will
Just give them the time of day
I had my first dream last night that you weren't in.
not even a minor character,
your ****** name wasn't even in the credits,
let alone plastered across the sky in flashing lights
like you want it to be.
my first reality that you didn't belong in,
and it was the most blissful peace that I can remember since we bathed in pools of cloud.

I heard the first song that didn't make me think of you yesterday.
the lyrics, for once, were just lyrics,
not an embodiment of you and the things you do.
guess what?
it was coldplay.
you always hated coldplay.

this morning, I basked in the sun and didn't picture you coated in gold light beside me.
I didn't look at the leaves adorning the trees and picture your face laughing beneath it.

I didn't trace the plate lines of my palm and imagine the earthquake we used to create when yours collided with mine.

I didn't eat new food that I wanted you to try and I didn't want to share the smallest details of my day with you.

you may have won this poem, loverboy,
but don't be too triumphant.
your victory won't last long.
it's the era of my new beginnings without you and I'm going to be just fine.
never trust anyone who doesn't like coldplay.
I come here
To free myself
From whatever that's hurting me

And get myself lost
In your life's
Troubles.

My heart
Empathising.

Those times.
I've been struggling
For so long
I've been feeling down
Like there was no hope

I haven't been able to sleep tonight
My mind has been so full
Full of thoughts
But this time
After such a long while
They are nice

I had a moment of realization
When I knew I had to write
No matter how bad this poem would turn out
I needed to share
Share that after months of sadness
Today I've had a sudden appearance of happiness
Somewhere,
I've lived you.
Enjoying
the lensing of solitude,
the breeze, the trees, figures surrounding
the dark grey moisture-laden clouds;
All of these ingredients,
must've been tasted before--
For you to rinse the sweetness in them
Again.
she closes her eyes
in her mind she wanders
through a garden of beautifully fragranced flowers
fresh air fills her lungs
birds sing their gentle song
skipping through her garden
oh the sweet escape
I found a place I can feel free

Words on paper, no one judges me

It may not make sense, what I say

But at least I can write my troubles away

Thoughts, emotions, and feelings in my mind

My new poetry friends are all so kind

Words of kindness, love and support

Even if my poems seem to fall short

I found a place I can feel free

My imagination often overcomes me

Far off lands with castles and knights

The good guy always wins the fight

I found a place that I feel safe

Writing words brings me to my happy place

A place  where no one judges me

Wandering mind, freedom to feel

Nothing to prove, so my pain can heal

I found a place
