I hated her,
And she must've hated me.

Otherwise, why would she leave?
With her bright smiles,
And twinkling eyes,
Her innocence.

I have jaded eyes,
My bones heavy,
I have seen the horrible,
The ugly,
The lie,
That comes from this world.

She has not.
She was still young,
She was still hopeful,
She was protected.

She, who's smiling in the picture,
She, who looked so much like me,
She, who was nothing like me.
Gone, and lost.

Tell me,
How do I get her back?
Tell me,
So I can build a time machine.
Tell me,
So I can be her again.
It was a quiet night,
When I looked up,
At the glittering,
And sparkling sky.

It reminded me of you,
Of gentle smiles,
Of loving eyes,
Of warm hands.

But you were gone,
As soon as you came,
And I wondered,
Are you even real?

I’m going on limbs,
I’m tearing to pieces,
At the thought of you,
And how much I’m missing you.
everything in life is changing
so how could we find
a stable answer
to a changing thing

there's so many layers of uncertainty
but what we can do
for sure
is live the best lives
we can
within our means
and be fearless
and loving
because we will be back
someday
after all the chaos and darkness
we will be back
a 27 year old stranger's wisdom
These are the words,
I etched upon my skin.
And these are the things,
That cannot stay.

Beauty, grace and all things commonplace.

So hold on to what we are,
Just in case we lose sight of it,
Because that's how life is,
And we are prone to omit,
These parts of ourselves,
into our own dark abyss.
They were steps away from death,
The one who wants nothing more,
Than to die,
Pulled back.

"We were made for more than endings,
We will walk to the end,
When we have done our beginnings,
our middle,
and our living."

"Have we not done it?"
The other one asked,
Tears in her lovely eyes.

The one with the sad middle of a life,
Smiled bright and big,
"No we have not.
But we will."

And so, they stepped back,
To an uncertain future,
But to a very certain hope.
You weren’t here when I opened my eyes,
So I looked for you,
In the space where we breathed,
In the space where we do not,
You were still nowhere to be found.

And I realized,
You had never been here.

I was recalling a time,
A memory,
And a love song,
Where we had a happy ending.

But listen to me,
We never really did.
It’s amazing how I wrote this not because of myself but a ship
