Peppermint sigh
In the calm twilight
The moon yawns
And stretches, over the sea

Glowing, beyond the extent
Of vision, of knowing
Slowing, down now
Freezing, right where it is

One big mystery
Forever left unsolved
We get away with it
Time for Plan B

I clutch my chest
My heart beats quickly
Then hesitates before
Stopping abruptly

It's nauseating
Noise-consuming
Time-consuming
We are waterproof

Cheap bystanders
In the headlights
Not the headlines
If only vision were clearer

Closer, stronger
Hold on to me
Loosen your grip
On reality

Let go
I'll always be here, for you
Let's go
I'll always be yours, my dear

J U L I E
I see you, everywhere.
I hear you, everywhere.
I can feel you, everywhere.
But in reality, you left me long ago.

I cannot see your smile again.
I cannot hear your laugh again.
I cannot hold your hand again.
And it is breaking me into pieces.
This is to the ones who left us for the paradise.
For the ones who no longer is with us.
For the ones you'll never forget.
let your little seed of hope grow
nurture and protect it
and someday you will
recover
from a hopeless state of
mind and body

if i can do it
so can you
Dedicated to all those struggling with addiction and those walking the path of recovery.  Phrase "a hopeless state of mind and body" is not my own.  I am quoting 12th step literature.

I've learned that no matter how many coins you throw into a fountain or how many fingers you cross, you cannot make someone love you and neither can superstition

2. Almost is the worst way to love someone and if you cannot do it whole heartedly, you should not do it at all

3. I've learned that you cannot trust the things your heart tells you when it's sad

4. I've learned what it feels like to have my throat tighten a little every time I talk about you and I've learned what it feels like to taste pennies in my mouth every time I say your name

5. I've learned that you cannot always be a love story, sometimes you have to make yourself a bridge worth burning

6. Loneliness is when you lay down at night and your ceiling burns with rage because it is only looking at one person

7. I've learned how to know if you really love someone because you don’t give people the power to destroy you that you don't love

8. And I've learned that even if you know it is coming, you can never prepare yourself for how it feels

unwritten
some people say
that to be alive
is to hear yourself breathing,
feel your heart beating incessantly,
taking blood, vessel by vessel, from each vein.

sometimes
i lie awake at night
and i hear myself breathing.
i hear myself breathing and i feel my heart beating,
taking blood, vessel by vessel, from each vein.

i look up at the moon and its pale white face,
in stark contrast with the blackened cloak of night.
i cannot hear its soft, subtle breath.
i cannot hear its heartbeat.

but still, it shines —
shines with a greatness i could never reach,
never conquer.
it shines because it wants to be,
wants to exist.

some might say that the moon could never want.
but i know that brightness.
it does not come unless first there is a longing.

i never hear the moon breathing,
but i see it shine.
and somehow, in that shine,
it is more alive than i will ever be.

I'm a complainer who shows the world a mask, carved from the most skilled of hands.
I'm not truly me.
I'm a cover up.
A fake.
But that's ok, because I don't  even know me.

TigerEyes
In memory of a flower that did not grow
its grey ashes lay forgotten in the snow
left to dry its spirit inside a soft Spring wind
whispering a message to their next of kin
carrying a hope, and prayer from within
that their cherished flowers never see
a war that kills beauty, and humanity
In memory of a flower that did not grow
its innocence, and number are all I know.

How long
did the loneliness
keep you longing?
