artificial feelings stuffed in a room
dangerous proximity could finalize doom
deprivation brings about illogical thoughts
then it happens, and my hearts in knots
side effects may include waking in cold sweat
followed by hot flashes of regret
but
it seems like whenever the icing's enticing,
i can't help but take the cake.

i look at you and hot blood rushes through my veins,
making me weak,
thrumming with energy, excitement,
thrilling me to my core,
warning dangerous dangerous dangerous
the sensation envelopes my body as thoughts of you envelope my mind
you're dangerous and not good for me, but
my heart melts and I can't help but want you

Don't rely on tunnel vision,
the ephemeral illusion.
Take of the blinkers
and see with peripheral vision.

There is more to the definitive space we occupy,
the small world we simply exist in.
I insist we be hurled from this world,
But we resist.

Unprepared to be thrown
into the cyclone.
Scared of the unknown.
Yet,
we yearn for it
for the obscure and foreign.
Yearning for more than this.
Questioning why be secure with what we know?

We think we know everything now,
Everything within the space
of this limited place.
Yet,
we reckon there has to be more than this,
waiting beyond the door.
Wanting to be explored
and not ignored.

You'll never know unless you try
to pry into the unknown.
You could find your identify
by looking at life in it's entirety.

If you focus straight, you might miss something.
Our planet is round, not flat.
So take the blinkers off
and blink in everything at once.
“I thought we knew everything there was to know, It feels like we may be less of what we were in a place we don’t wholly know.”

Patience is a virtue
but how can I be patient when all I want is you?

I want to make you happy.
Your smile is beautiful to me.
Why do you shut me out,
because I care about you
more than anything in the world.
Or at least, I want to.

It is nestled deep inside the fertile
Shenandoah Valley.
There is a river that runs amok
like a rabid, winded wildcat in
the shadows of temptation.
And then there’s a back-country
woman that just won’t leave my
hesitated mind.
Taking time
to worry all about her,
risking heartache
to forever go
without her—
it seems like such an unfair penance,
like the result of prison’s popular
undeserved sentences.
Getting by without a proper windshield,
it’s starting to look as if my drummer
really is too far off the mark.
Wishes to again cross that princess on
that old and dusty road.
In the end it’s a crime that, quite
simply, has no motive.
And I’m paying my sentence daily for
being a prince—and not the most
handsome toad in the land.

I want to consume you
I want to singe you
let my flames lick you
tattoo my touch on your skin
in a insatiable controlled burn.

He is cherry trees in the spring evening,
precious to behold as night slowly falls.
He speaks with a softness never-failing
to capture all the weary he enthrals.

With a grace like Heaven, he passes by
and snatches me up from the soiled floor.
He is the daystar in the morning sky,
glowing brightly from behind the closed door.

If only I could catch him when he sings,
place a mirror before his smiling face,
I could show him all of the beautiful things
that he hides in this poor, forgotten place.

We could talk like friends in free, easy speech
but, alas, he is just beyond my reach.
