Sounds swim constantly
Through the aches behind my unopened eyes.
The latest slumber trek is at an end.

The pace of my brain
Akin to a shortsighted grasshopper:
No focus,
Leaping all over the pace.

My inert body
Resolutely immoveable.

Just 5 more minutes.

We Smiled,
We Hugged.
We Kissed,
We Laughed.

I Woke,
I Realized,
I Sighed,
I Slept.
The disappointment on realising it was all a dream.

Wakey wakey
Big mistakey
This is a direct quote from my friend, whom I am calling H.
Breeze-Mist Sep 2016
You know a day will
Be stranger than can be said
If, upon waking, you think
"Do I have a slinky on my head?"

Wind in my hair
I stretch my legs
Smell food in the air
count the lamppost pegs
a breezy, misty morning
boys playing ball
seagulls give storm warnings
we've got fourteen hours in all
play fights in the lot
before the night's coaches
the buffet's only got
moments before the crowd encroaches
only minutes before the breakfast buffet
and a tour of the city later today
Inspired by a recent trip to the windy city.

Whats the point of waking up,
If you aren't lying next to me when I do?
As My eyes open
I smile to myself
Relieved that I didn’t pass away
Glad that I can work on making amends
Glad I can still touch peoples life's
I am jovial that I can tell people I love them
Sad that I have to do it but glad that  I can say sorry to people
Is it normal to have these feelings
As we wake?

Dream. Take me away
Far. To a place where I could stay.
Stay in paradise
I don’t care if it’ll be all lies

I dream when it’s morning
Even if the sun is already rising
A dream that is too pleasing
Is preventing me from waking

I still dream at noon
I won’t be waking up anytime soon
I think I’ll wait till the reign of the moon
Waking up, I don’t know how soon

The day is already ending
The curtain is already drawing
The sun is already preparing
To rest and to be setting

And then comes the night
When there exists a great absence of light
Me waking up is still out of sight
Because still, I dream at night

The dawn is coming
But still I am dreaming
The sun will again soon be rising
Still I continue on dreaming

This day marks a year of me dreaming
A year that I have stopped from waking
Well, it’s not that I don’t want to wake up
But in this bed and in this dream I am stuck

I was dreaming,
I am dreaming,
I will be dreaming
Till I wake up from this dream called coma.

Waking up beside you
Will someday be
Something familiar to me
Just like how I drink my tea
Mornings will knock softly
As you whine,
"I'm still sleepy"
Then my dictionary
Will erase the word lonely
