We sit there in the morning,
Me in your shirt, you slipping on mine,
Cold coffee in a cup I know you'll leave
But I give to you any way (it's tradition).
We spent last night inches apart
So close that our hair might have switched
Or your eyesight sharpen and mine diminish
To swap our pupils round.
We chew the names of old friends out like popcorn
Barely a breath given to any individual-
Me asking about yours, you teasing about mine
The two of us (mostly) never not in agreement.
It's been this way, one might say,
For 14 years and a little over that, too,
Not that I remember clutching your hand as we lay
Belly to belly on a baby rug with our parents watching.
Your smell becomes mine, so I associate it with home-
Sweet and fresh like candy tulips and soap.

We may as well be one; this is how little our paths diverge.
This poem means a lot more now than it did then, ironically. This is about the unity I felt with my cousin a few weeks ago- I'd never expressed it in words before and this is a little too chunky for my personal taste so I never published it. Then we got too involved with a boy and after everything that happened, I blocked her off completely. It is bizarre looking back at this now, which is why I have to post it here haha.
Storge is the Greek word for natural or instinctual affection- family love.

A HUMBLE SUNRISE...

He perched on the boundaries of the fallen temple,
to feel the warmth of the morning rays.
He could feel the dampness of dew that surrounds him,
But on the rise of the sun failed to gaze.
As the birds chipped all around him,
He knew that his day had begun.
Though blindness shrouded him but never darkened,
As he felt beauty from the summers sun.
See no evil Mizaru.

A near by friend reached out a hand to guide him,
He chattered with joyous glee.
For he could marvel at the beauty,
A wonderous sight to thee.
Although his friend spoke gently,
Full of gratefulness that his eyes could see.
He was disturbed by the silence,
The loneliness then sparked to peace.
Hear no evil Kikazaru.

Another fluffed soul dangled closer,
Hanging upside down from a blossom tree.
He was full of wonder and amazement,
By the beauty that surrounded the three.
His ears could hear the chorus,
Of an awakening world that surrounds.
The burning dew now dispersing,
Evaporated from earthen ground.
Although he longed to speak up his excitement,
To his friends the trio they became.
Consistent mute and dumbfounded
He was greatful of friendships to claim.
Speak no evil Iwazaru..

I took the leap into the unknown not knowing where it went.
I am hurt and I am lost
But I am hoping someone will catch me
Or at least there will be water.
I just did something daring and even though it hurt me I just hope the wounds it left will heal.

I wanna die beside the sea:
So peaceful there, so calming…
There will I end - no one to see
But Mother Nature, charming.

The waves and gulls a-lulling me,
The sand my flesh embracing,
No one to judge, no one to blame,
No one to pass the sentence.

I’ll reminisce about the days
Of jollity and laughter…
My shroud - a veil of golden rays.
A happy ever after…

I’ll be the froth, and she’ll be I -
The cycle never broken…
What bliss, O Sea, by you to die
And leave this world, unspoken!

When words are not enough
When silence is a sea of peace
And my highest self is home to stay
And your kisses can only hint
At the depth of this union
I know this mantra too well
A kiss that tastes of that silent sea
And lingers for infinity
When words are not enough
I bow.
I bow.

the first time
our lips met
didn't feel foreign,
it was as if
you were my home
country
and I had only just
entered your land,
then took a taste of the berry tree
which my greatest grandma had grew,
in either ways;
she would be
******.

In me is the silence
that is not there
in the middle of 50,000
Irish bees

that are a black cloak
over my pale skin
my body is their heart
it's beating faster

from their poison, I feel
connected, one
with life, one
with spring, the

loud buzzing
of love here on earth
upon me
within me
