there is a tree
and when you
lie down in the
arms of its bare branches
it hugs you
with all the light
of the sun

You were made of gold and I was made of copper
You were sunlight and I was moonlight
You had bright smiles and facts
I had secrets and books

I shouldn't have been this entranced by you
But life is tricky and fate is odd
So maybe this is right

he dived into a pool of syrupy, blackness;
dived into his past.
it smelled of ***** laundry,
sweat, and goodbyes.
he choked on the thick memories;

raucous music rippled through
the molasses that weighed him down.
he realized his mistake for dwelling
and kicked his feet feverishly,
back and forth
back and forth.
his lips broke the surface.
sunlight met him with a kiss.
the bad days were long gone.
When the air
is brightened
by a visit

It welcomes
this new
presence

Abiding in
its own
sweetly deep
silence

This sunlight
has its own
delicate
sound

There are far more people
that struggle in life, like me

than there are successful,
made and together, like you:

so please, uninvite me, yet again,
but let me be;
         without that dangling carrot,*    I   A M    F R E E .

Someday the sun
will stop shining and die.
And if that means
that it will be too dark
for me to see you anymore,
I would rather die
with it.

golden streams of sun
sink, unwrap, dance,
melt into the trees
like honeycomb,
silver the ground
with their tender warmth.
the day is dying but so gently
that the shadows can only lengthen
dreaming their dreams of the night.
An infinitely delicate green
gently disguised verbena
leaf, shyly beginning to
undress for a morning
bath in sunlight and pure,
chilly water. Where did she
ever get the idea that she
was too green to celebrate?

Kiss Me,
Oh won't you kiss me one last time,
Before the night time fades away,
And all the stars, turn to grey,
Before the clock hand hits midnight,
Before the first rays of sunlight,
Wash away, the magic of moonlight,
So kiss me, before your pumpkin carriage turns to dust,
And buries our memories in golden rust.
